Distance from what you are grounding to your ground point is often a
factor. I've got a chart for NOC grounding but I'm not sure if that is
applicable to Nate's project.

Either way, I don't think the difference in throughput is enough to care about,
I'd rather have the lower latency.

A bit more throughput. Not worth changing from 5ms to 2.5ms if all you're

If I recall correctly, the 2.5ms frame size was introduced to aid in

not that simple.

We have one tower we own (320ft.) . When we acquired the tower, they were
using a company Flash Technology in Franklin Tennessee to monitor the lighting
system. We just kept using them. The technology is “only” about 10 to 12
years old that is in use there, but the control boards can get quite expensive
and we’ve had to replace various boards, parts at the bottom, which adds up.
Flash Technology supports the equipment as well.

So… 2 questions.

What are people using for a 3rd party monitoring company for tower lighting?
Anybody doing it themselves? I think it has to report to the FAA within a
couple hours of any lighting outage, then report once the lighting is normal
again.

I agree with Josh... if I was building a new network at this point the only
ubnt stuff I'd use is airfiber.

Nowadays, though, I don't know if I'm going to be doing a whole lot of 2.4
anything...

Hello guys,

Have any of you used Ubiquiti M-Series and also used ePMP now to compare the
differences in your network? We're building out some new sites and comparing
Ubiquiti AC gear to ePMP and really would like to hear some more recent
feedback on the ePMP platform since it always seems like it isn't talked about
much on the list or in the forums.

I know ePMP is fully certified for all bands while Ubiquiti is still only
certified and running in the upper bands, except for beta which now has UNII-1
as well. I'm most interested in how ePMP scales on towers compared to UBNT and
how it handles a low signal client better than UBNT when a dish gets
misaligned. Consistent jitter and ping is also something I'd be interested in
hearing about to see how it handles VOIP and gaming better than UBNT.

Any feedback would be great. Thanks

According to my notes, we installed it April 10th, it's uptime is 31 days right
now... I'm not sure why it was reset at that point.
I just remembered another one that's been up for about a month... I haven't
seen any problems with any of them, you must just be lucky.

No Verizon OR AT&T Cell service in parts of North Alabama (Cullman, Florence)
Isolated reports coming in from all over North Alabama.
At least one WISP reports an outage in TN - backbone is AT&T
Anonymous report from a friend who works at TVA tells me they have problems
with all their MPLS connections.

Here is one news story linking to it:

We saw significant increase Tuesday night and last night too. I am sure

Was asking in the office, are we sure we have all the Ap's doing rate limiting.

But after I saw the windows 10 release. It made sense.

 Dear Cambium,

Why won't you let us buy the ACPSSW-13B POE if we still want to?

It's very frustrating that we now have to change our install procedures
AND our tech support procedures. The new POE is also very cumbersome and
prone to clients plugging things in backwards etc.

Can you either keep selling them or give us access to the manufacturer
so that we can still buy them?

Has anyone else seen a "Get Windows 10" icon mysteriously appear in your
Windows 7 System Tray?

If I click, it says Reserve your FREE upgrade now, it will download once
available.

Apparently once it downloads, you get to choose when to install it. That's
nice, I'm imagining opening up my laptop to do a presentation and finding it
in the midst of upgrading from Windows 7 to 10, which would be quite a
change.
