Re: [AFMUG] security system with still camera capture
One DVR with two cameras...set one for recording with motion detection with 15 seconds cache before and 15 seconds after event. Set second camera to record all the time and just scroll to event time of interest. Get large HD and clean out what is not needed after two weeks. Not sure why you need it every 15 secs. How about a costed bill of materials for a system like this. Re: [AFMUG] security system with still camera capture
It’s for covering a park and has to have prosecutorial evidence at a distance. Even HD cameras aren’t high enough resolution considering the distance and area of coverage. I need a high pixel count for that. I’d rather grab pictures at 5 seconds if possible but I think that’s too fast although I haven’t tested a camera with USB 3.0. My bigger problem is that I need a commercial solution but I may have to do a hybrid system. Not really a system but Axis cameras do this internally. I have mine set to capture a series of stills on motion along with recording video in parallel. The stills are easy to scan through then you can go back and look at the video if needed. I haven't specifically tried it, but it does have a frames per minute option for still captures. I would expect if you set it to 12 on a continuously active rule that it would output a JPEG every 5 seconds. ~Seth
Re: [AFMUG] security system with still camera capture
Thanks, I forgot about that feature. I know the one that I have has a 2500x1500 or something still image mode. I was hoping to get something much higher resolution though. Something like what Earthcam does. Camera with USB? Did I miss something. I will get u some specs on decent system for this. Good long range cameras are pricey...I am installing 14 Turbo HD cameras for Epcom The quality is amazing and I still haven't adjusted anything. ..more tomorrow Jaime Solorza On Dec 11, 2014 7:57 AM, Rory Conaway via Af af@afmug.com wrote: It’s for covering a park and has to have prosecutorial evidence at a distance.
