It is not at the bottom of the active window as it should be, but is in the middle of active window. It is also of grey colour when saving is not in the progress and remains visible when saving is completed. It is also impossible to put cursor in the text line covered by save progress bar even if it is not visible. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Hope you enjoyed it :-) Yes, I did :-). Thanks. cloph scratches his head, since... /I'm not sure whether you have the information should have been I'm not sure where you got the information... (since I never heard of such a problem) - I'd like to know to what versions of gnome this applies to. This information is experience: the problem is as follows: if one specifies an icon_filename for a mime type in (now obsolete) mime-info/mypackage.keys, gnome-vfs assumes everything behind the last '.' to be an extension. So openoffice.org-1.9-writer will be treated as icon type 9-writer, which is (surprise, surprise :)) unknown to gnome-vfs. The easiest fix would have been to append .png to the filename string, but I somehow expected svg's to show up as well - even though they did not up to now. Note: the gnome-mime-links may collide with gnome-icon-theme so maybe it's better to move them to a subpackage... If I didn't get the Icon Theme Spec wrong, application specific icons should go into the hicolor theme, where they would not collide with the gnome-icon-theme. We can leave symlinks in the gnome theme for those GNOME versions that still honor mime-info/*.keys (probably in the SuSE/Redhat package only. I am also thinking about switching back to the TryExec mechanism with absolute paths as you proposed earlier, because it would work around the mandrake bug of not following symlinks in /usr/share/applications. I did some tests before my vacation and it seems that the problem I had in mind was before GNOME 2.x and KDE 3.x. Wouldn't this move obsolete the writer, calc, etc. trigger ? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46317 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Apr 3 04:01:52 -0800 2005 --- Ahh, I see, so it is not the filename itself that causes the trouble, but how you can reference it... But that it treats everything after a dot as extension is a bug in the implementation, since the admin-guide (gnome2.6) reads: icon_filename Specifies the filename of an icon to represent the MIME type. Does not specify the path to the filename, or the file extension. so you were right :-) If I didn't get the Icon Theme Spec wrong, application specific icons should go into the hicolor theme, where they would not collide with the gnome-icon-theme. Yes, I thought of this as well, and tried it out. But unfortunately nautilus/libgnomeui/gnome-vfs (I think it is libgnomeui that handles this, but I'm not sure) doesn't look in the hicolor-theme for the mime-icons :-( But maybe I had typos in my tests, so I'll check again later. (It is OK when you don't include the links in the RPM) [mandrake doesn't follow symlinks in /usr/share/applications] running a mandrake (9.0) based system myself, I'm kind of surprised.. My version does honor the symlinks... [Tryexec] Wouldn't this move obsolete the writer, calc, etc. trigger ? Hmm, I guess it would, but I didn't check what update-desktop-database does when it encounters an entry with non-existant tryexec.. Just checked it: No problem, this should work. But to get this right: The menu-packages would install real .desktop-files in /usr/share/applications (and the other relevant locations) that contain a tryexec to /etc/openoffice.org-1.9/program/module - Is this correct? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I can reproduce this every time doing the following: Open OOo 2.0b Open new spreadsheet Rightclick one of the 'Sheet' tabs at the bottom (eg Sheet1) The popup menu is positioned to the lower right of the mouse pointer and flows off the bottom of the screen. Document contains a mixture of ttf and pfm fonts, that appear good on the screen, but the pfm fonts look like arial on paper. Investigating the contents of the .ps file, I see no mention of the pfm fonts, but there are extra variations of ArialMT and TimesNewRomanPSMT, that show up where the pfm fonts are supposed to be. The ttf fonts and glyphs are fine in both .ps and printed form. Since I don't have a postscript printer, I can't tell if the printed output is also wrong. As a side note: I saved the .odt file as .sxw to try loading in oo1.1. I find it curious that oo1.1 rendered the pfm fonts correctly, but Did Not Show those fonts as available in the toolbar. When running a a recent distro such as SuSE 9.x or the FC releases with a default bloat windowmanager such as KDE it is no wonder. What i can suggest is to switch to a lightweight window manager. Also creating a ramdisk (same concept on Linux as on good old DOS) will help you to increase GUI performance. Good candidates for ramdisk [~10MB) are following directories: ~/.openoffice.org1.9.89, ~/m89/share/config, ~/m89/presets Meanwhile developers do work on improving performance during startup and also when operating so this definitely is taken care of. As this issue has become now a collective issue, i close it as WorksForMe. Thanks for supporting the project. Every reports is kindly appreciated. [www-issues] Re: [Issue 46347] Clearer Explaination Needed in the File Associations Dialog during Installation
I like the second (and left it in the quote below). However, can text be added to reference a generic Windows Explorer (I do not know what it is called in Linux or Mac OS)? That might be adding unnecessary weight to the text, but since most of the users targeted by this are neophytes, we may want to consider even more overkill. (My proposed enhancements are offset by * *) For example, This means, for instance, that if you double click on one of these files *in Windows Explorer/Linux /Mac OS *, OpenOffice.org will open it, not the program that *automatically* opens it now. oldgnome [EMAIL PROTECTED] said the following: [snip] - OpenOffice.org x.x.x can be set as the default application to automatically open the following file types. This means, for instance, that if you double click on one of these files, OpenOffice.org will open it, not the progam that opens it now. If you are just trying out Open Office.org, you probably don't want this to happen, so leave the boxes unchecked. You can always open these files in OpenOffice.org, by using 'File Open' and browsing to the file you want. ... then the list of file types and check boxes. --- - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
