To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46494 User as changed the following: What|Old value |New value Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Apr 4 23:16:21 -0700 2005 --- The problem behind: The registration for the extension txt is ambigous. So the results are not realy clear. Because the calc text filter is not registered for the type "writer_Text". But this type is detected as the preferred one. So the detection returns the type "writer_Text" and the "Text" filter ... but it's not accepted outside the detetection ... because the filter does not match the right factory. I've improved the detection with preselected factory so it works now as aspected. BUT: "Insert Sheet From File" with a file using an unknown extension (e.g. "*.cxx") doesnt work. Because the calc module cant detect text based formats by it's content. Such format's are detected only flat by using the right extension! And that can be fixed only by the calc deep detection itself. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The editing features need to be enhanced but one thing that could EASILY be done is to make that tiny yellow bar icon BIGGER when someone inserts a NOTE in the document. It's not easy at all to see those tiny bar icons when scanning for notes. It's not always easy to mouse over them either. Better yet, allow me to set the properties of that icon: size, color, blinking, graphic, etc. If I could set those properties, I could see them more easily and I could mouse over them more easily too. STEPS: Insert | Note | enter text | OK. Notice the tiny yellow bar. Us color-blind folks have issues with tiny things like that. In previous versions, I was able to edit a word on the Word line and then click Replace. Now, it's in the actual sentence while it's red. Place a note such as "You may edit the text below and click Change." above that text box, not just "Not in dictionary." STEPS: At a blank screen type asdf, move the cursor in front of it and press F7. The Spell Checker highlights as misspelled and puts it in red in the top text box. It doesn't state anywhere that I can edit that red word. Unless I tried it (because I knew from previous versions) I would have never known. In fact, I added this bug and had to change it when I tried to edit the red word. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. When I save, I get the error "Could not create backup copy". I have turned off automatic backups in the options. The following steps reproduce the problem: 1. Create a one line document and save it as /tmp/a.sxw 2. Create a hard link and soft link to the document using commands "ln /tmp/a.sxw /tmp/ah.sxw" and "ln -s /tmp/a.sxw /tmp/as.sxw" 3. Open the soft link file with the command "ooffice /tmp/as.sxw". Add a line to it, save. Notice the error dialog. Exit application, which will give warning about discarding modifications. Verify that the added line is not in the document. 4. Follow the same steps using the hard link. Notice that changes get saved. Why I need this to work: Without this, I can have soft links to documents on my desktop that I can access easily. #40750 seems related in that it gives the same error message but this does not involve mounting so I am assuming it is different. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It's a connector related issue that I cannot find described in other issues. This one is in Draw, but it may be the same issue as 37279 (for Presentation), which was closed as not reproducible/insufficient info. I'll include the .odg file (need to figure out how to include, but they will follow...). I have before (ConnOK.png) and after (ConnBug.png) exports to show the effect, also (ConnFix.png) to show how the opposite endpoint of the bottom two connectors jump to another glue point when correcting the top endpoint. That's possibly a different bug, but may be related. The one into the top of the summer (circle w/ "X") also misbehaves when relocating it's top endpoint. Note also the connector coming from the parallelogram, after save/open, it's connected to the "outside rectangle's" glue point, not the parallelogram's. I upgraded to OOo 1.9.87 because of other crashes, but had the same problem in 1.9.79 (OOo 2.0 beta). Thanks for a great product! As you are more familiar with the software than us, i would kindly ask you to provide relevant info on this. "On Linux (and other Unix based systems), views are implemented with the MVFS file system. Setting a view causes one of these file systems to be mounted (not sure if they actually use the linux 'mount' command), after which you can see all the files in development stream. In our case, the actual storage of the files is on a Solaris based system. The MVFS file system is therefore a view of the remote development stream. I'm not sure how they do this over a network, perhaps they use NFS in conjunction with MVFS?" - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [gsl-issues] [Issue 46651] New - [gtk-plugin] provide a way to switch between gtk+ input methods

In gnome apps one can easily switch between the various input methods by right-clicking the text-editing area and choosing the im from the contextmenu. As OOo 1.9 already uses the GTK+-input method (can tell this from the set of available compose-sequences) it would be nice to be able to choose between the available ones just like in every other application (instead of having to close OOo, set an environment variable and start OOo again). So add a way to switch between the input-methods on the fly, preferably using the contextmenu, as other applications do. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [installation-issues] [Issue 46649] New - dialog.xlc, script.xlc updating from 1.1.0 to 1.1.4
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=46649 Issue #:|46649 Summary:|dialog.xlc, script.xlc updating from 1.1.0 to 1.1.4 Component:|Installation Version:|OOo 1.1.4 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Linux Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|code Assigned to:|of Reported by:|ghcbc --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Apr 4 14:38:48 -0700 2005 --- I recently updated a multiuser installation from 1.1.0 to 1.1.4 on a Debian Linux box. The files $HOME/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/user/basic/dialog.xlc and $HOME/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/user/basic/script.xlc did not get modified to reflect new paths. All the paths in Tools -> Options were fine. It would be very handy if the script.xlc and dialogs.xlc files were modified at update time to avoid the annoyances described below. As root, I began the install using "setup -net". For the network part this was a clean install. The old version was in /usr/local/OOo/OpenOffice.org1.1.0. The new version was installed to /usr/local/OpenOffice/v1.1.4. There were no site wide customizations I was worried about preserving. I mv'd /usr/local/OOo to /usr/local/OOo.old. I want to rm the whole OOo.old tree eventually but am keeping it until I am certain there is nothing worth preserving. I didn't want to lose my personal customizations, though, so the workstation part of the install upgraded my existing setup in $HOME/OpenOffice.org1.1.0. After the upgrade, the first time I saved any word processing or spreadsheet document, whether a modified existing doc or a new one, I received the following error: --begin error quotation Error loading BASIC of document: file:///usr/local/OOo/OpenOffice.org1.1.0/share/basic/FormWizard/script.xlb/: General Error. General input/output error ---end error quotation- Clicking OK, I immediately received another error, identical to the above except that "FormWizard" was replaced with "Template". This repeated through "Tools", "WebWizard", "Schedule", "Gimmicks", "ImportWizard", "Euro" and "Depot", then ran once more through the same sequence. Once all the errors boxes had been dismissed, the files saved. Any subsequent saves of a document behaved normally. If OpenOffice were closed and restarted, the same little game had to be gone through. I checked paths in Tools -> Options and there was nothing that pointed to the old site installation directory. Googling I found reference to $HOME/ Options had been correctly modified. Why not change these two files as well ? ghcbc - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=44667 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Apr 4 13:51:56 -0700 2005 --- I retested with OpenOffice.org 1.9.87 using the test.eps sample. (i.e. create a new file, insert picture from file, select that test.eps file.) I also tried opening the eps file in Irfan (free graphics viewer program), and Irfan gave the error message "Irfan can only read EPS files with a TIF/WMF inside. Try with Ghostview." So - the question is whether Open Office will try to render contents of an EPS that does not contain a preview? Note that when a PDF is made from the .doc file, it does NOT include the actual graphic, only a placeholder. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
