I did not made any changes in style of that presentation. Then pasted title of presentation from writer document to first slide. when i saw result, i made undo: text disapeared, but style of pasted text left. So i had to delete slide, and insert new. Another related problem - if i paste/undo text to list, i cannot remove that pasted style nor pressing delete button in line before corupted line neither pressing backspace in beginning of coruped line. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This would also allow automatic availability of faxdevices configured in CUPS through VPN links Perhaps a flag in the fax4cups driver files or the ppd files would allow openoffice to determine if the CUPS printer is a faxdevice - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=49920 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri May 27 19:16:22 -0700 2005 --- /Why/ do you want to reconfigure a *printer* to a fax? Not sure how else I can explain this .. Printers created through CUPS automatically show up in the oowriter printer list. This is really great when you consider the ability of CUPS to automagically share printers through the LAN. fax4CUPS allows you to create a printer device in CUPS that reroutes the print job through the LAN to the machine that has the faxmodem and provides a good web gui for tracking fax spooler jobs. The fax4CUPS device automatically shows up in the openoffice printer list AS A PRINTER !!! So if I make a new printer in spadmin, there will still be the original listing from CUPS. So I would prefer to change the original pinter listing in spadmin (rather than make a second printer) so that only ONE entry for the faxmodem shows in the openoffice printer list. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. So I composed a query to get either the 'personal' or the 'business' entries. SELECT [some fields] FROM ""OE Contacts"" WHERE Company IS [NOT] NULL The results are somewhat strange, especially IS NULL doesn't work (correctly), because the result set is the total opposite of what is expected. Here's a list varying the WHERE-clause: Company IS NOT NULL ' Parse ERROR: Statement too complex! Company <> NULL ' All business contacts, although invalid SQL! Company IS NULL ' All business contacts, too!, totally surprising!!! Company = NULL ' No records, but expected an SQL error (s. a.). The following depend on how the empty string in the underlying data source is handled, but they are not consistent anyway (strict SQL says that if either value in a comparison is NULL, the expression evaluates to UNKNOWN and therefore, no records should be in the result set): Company = ''' OK, no records Company <> '' ' ??, all business contacts Company LIKE '%'' OK, all business contacts - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I know the functionality is there using FREQUENCY() and a bar graph, but this is not intuitive enough for most users/occasions where you have a listing of data/grades and want to see a distribution. I think MS Excel won against Lotus 123 because it was more intuitive to use for the naive user, and I think Excel and OOoCalc are guilty of taking a common and simple graph and making it a pain to create. I usually end up exporting information in a CSV file to MATLAB for plotting as a histogram. I can't believe my primary use of MATLAB is for plotting histograms, and that I'm not the only one who does this. There is a macro for OOoCalc created by Andy Lewis that creates a histogram available (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ooomacros/BoxPlotsHistograms_1-0.zip?download) but it does not handle alphanumeric's (A+,A,A-,B+,etc). I know this may seem like a pointless request because the functionality is already there, but I must repeat that it is not intuitive enough for most users. I wouldn't mind becoming familiar with OOo development to add such a useful feature. Thanks - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 45177] Wrong editing time statistic reported in Word97/2000/XP *.doc files
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=45177 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri May 27 10:23:36 -0700 2005 --- I think I understand this now. This issue must be caused by the import filter (or what does the editing time translation) - as odt format is not (apparently) affected - which I think nullifies the hour count when reaching 24 hours. Problem is, there is no day count that would reflect this. If there is one, pardon me, but it's not displayed. Anyway, open document files do have hour counts over 24 (even like 1025 - I checked) and (therefore) no day counter, so editing time count for *.doc files should be probably made the same. Here is table of editing time count translation from *.doc format into OOo. (I made it via adjusting the system time while "editing" in MS Word, than comparing in OOo) MSWORD* OOo* (minutes) (hours:minutes) 2881 -) 00:01 (reality: 48:01) 2880 -) 00:00 (reality: 48:00) 2879 -) 23:59 (reality: 47:59) ... 1787 -) 05:47 (reality: 29:47) ... 1441 -) 00:01 (reality: 24:01) 1440 -) 00:00 (reality: 24:00) Nullified, but day counter is missing. 1439 -) 23:59 OK 1434 -) 23:54 OK 1382 -) 23:02 OK 1322 -) 22:02 OK * Versions: MS WORD 2000; OOo 1.9.100 (brief-checked 1.1.0 and 1.1.4: seem to behave the same way) You see this issue is clearly caused by a day-count-feature idea being implemented somewhere. As stated before, I think this should be removed so that hour counter would be "the last" (as with *.odt files), of course it must not be limited to "0-24" then. Sadly, I can't fix it in the source code, I am no programer. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. If we don't use GREENLANDIC in English, then I don't think we should use just Grönlndisch in German. At http://www.dosco.de/wiss-sprach-undlandercodes.htm I found "Kalaallisut (Grönland)" and at http://www.pruefziffernberechnung.de/Begleitdokumente/ISO-Codes.shtml "Kalaallisut (Grönlndisch)" As our language lists use the country in parentheses if a language appears more than once, I suggest using "Kalaallisut (Greenland)" and "Kalaallisut (Grönlnd)" and since it is also spoken in Denmark, also listing "Kalaallisut (Denmark)" and "Kalaallisut (Danmark)" but I'm not sure if that is in the sense of the upcoming CLDR unicode standard. Fixed in dvoqbfix4. The class in question is a re-implementation of another class of unknown provenience, which would probably not allow re-distribution under OOo. Hence, I simply copied the interface of that original class and replaced it with an STL-based implementation. The set(..) method of the original class would return 0/1 (depending on the success of the operation). Since we don't make any use of this return value in our code, there was no misbehaviour. I changed the return type to void. That seems the cleanest thing, and it shoud do away with the warning. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 37020] multiple warnings about disabled Java appear when opening Macro Selector
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=37020 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri May 27 08:26:23 -0700 2005 --- In writer without a Java RTE I inadvertently clicked the Macro tab in picture properties. Then I clicked Background. I think I got to background before the Java message arrived - but now I am stuck in what seems like an interminable loop of repeating error messages. The only option is to kill the job and risk losing my work... This is not a good UI for the uninitiated. It's OK for me - I know OOo doesn't (usually) lose my work, it has a fantastic recovery system. And as a bug reporter I can find this information, and try for a bit longer to confirm that the loop is indeed finite, and after enough OKs it starts to behave properly. But we really should try to get this sorted out before the masses flock to see our genuinely superb version 2. Can't we disable the tab if it really does need Java, and there isn't one? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. In French Outils/Personnaliser/Barre d'Outils/Autres contrôles, pattern field translation in FR is [Champ masqué] and the description area says [Crée une zone de motif.] where it should be [Crée un champ masqué.]. [graphics-issues] [Issue 49964] New - Powerpoint presentations with linked objects crash Impress (even after conversion to ODP)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=49964 Issue #:|49964 Summary:|Powerpoint presentations with linked objects crash |Impress (even after conversion to ODP) Component:|Presentation Version:|OOo 2.0 Beta Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Linux Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P2 Subcomponent:|open-import Assigned to:|wg Reported by:|nlogax --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri May 27 07:56:03 -0700 2005 --- I am migrating a user to OOo and have had 100% repeatable crashes of their system (often hanging X entirely) when OOo tries to display a slide (or even the preview image in the slide navigator at left) from an imported Powerpoint presentation that includes hyperlinked objects (in this case, images). In creating the document in PowerPoint, the user had gone to a web page and had somehow pasted links to the images instead of pasting copies of the images. Even after exporting the document into OOo Open Document Presentation (ODP) format, the system would still freeze when attempting to display the page that had the hyperlinked images. I deleted just the linked images from the Powerpoint presentation (which also contains many other locally-sourced images) using Powerpoint on Windows, and then imported them again and the problem disappeared. I guess it is possible that this bug also affects other OOo components too, and it would be worthwhile testing to see. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
