To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=19906 User ab changed the following: What|Old value |New value Status|STARTED |RESOLVED Resolution| |INVALID --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 27 23:32:59 -0700 2005 --- The latest reported problems seem to be related to removing some of the wizards. This is covered by issue 51943. Also before there were some issues concerning the removal of some wizards. In the last months there have been several problems concerning inconsistant Basic configuration. All these problems result in a "Error loading BASIC com- ponent of file" message. This message only states that a Basic library is re- gistered but it could not be loaded, because it's missing or corrupt. I see no sense in keeping this task open as many problems have been fixed in the meantime and it's impossible to reconstruct which of the problems described in this issue may be based on which (fixed) problem. So I set this task to INVALID now. Everyone who still finds problems resulting in a "Error loading BASIC component of file" message in current versions - at least m120 as issue 51943 is fixed there - please submit a new task. This one simply has become unusable. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. A user can't see that he has invoked a word together with a space when he opens up the thesaurus. All he sees is a list containing no matches. It makes it look like there are no matches to his word in the thesaurus. And even if es argues that " word" and "word " are not actual words, there aren't many users who are going to think that. But as of 1.9.117 the problem still exists. However I just noticed the first time I Open a document it does not do the behavior its only after the document becomes the first on the list. Its not a big enough bug to really worry about but try these steps. 1. Open up Open Office Impress this should open the "Presentation Wizard" if not your using it differently. 2. Select "Open existing presentation" if you do this for the first time the list of items should be blank. Select the file that I uploaded. If this was the first time you loaded my file the problem does not exist but a second time of following steps 1 and 2 should produce the error at least it did in 1.9.117 I'll try 1.9.118 within the week. The first time I reported the error was on Slackware 10 I am currently running Fedora 4 upgraded to current. The file I uploaded is what MS Powerpoint produced so I assume that Powerpoint named the extention .pps but like I said if I name it with the .ppt extention the error does not exist. I'm guessing Impress wrongly assumes that a .pps extention is a template. It could however be incorrect ussage of powerpoint. I did not create the slideshow and I don't know what the difference is between .ppt extention and .pps extention. Is .pps suppose to be a template? could be the error message I get is correct and the file is named incorrectly. But I don't know. Could be that .pps is not always a template and that the error message is wrong. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=4219 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 27 14:01:15 -0700 2005 --- I would really like to see maybe a 6m x 6m page size. My company owns 4 wide format printers, and we find it very useful to be able to print out giant spreadsheets, make large powerpoint slides as posters, print banners from Word etc... The current limit makes OpenOffice not viable for us. We have priters at 36" wide and 60" wide, both with unlimited length printing. We usually don't print longer than 200", but wouldn't mind a higher limit for those rare occasions. Most Kinkos locations have large format printers available for the average person to go well over the current limit. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=52559 Issue #:|52559 Summary:|VALUE() fails on HTML table cell with trailing non- |breakable space Component:|Spreadsheet Version:|OOo 2.0 Beta Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Windows XP Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P4 Subcomponent:|open-import Assigned to:|spreadsheet Reported by:|jeffdp --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 27 11:45:05 -0700 2005 --- A particular set of data from an HTML table is to be imported from a web application into Calc so that it can be massaged. In this particular application, the certain cells of interest to me contain numbers, concatenated with HTML non-breakable space " "; presumedly, to prevent ugly formatting in the event of empty cells. Therefore, the data in these columns looks something like this, with leading spaces: 1 Importing this data into Calc results in a string value rather than a number. Since I could not operate on the data directly, I chose to use VALUE(). However, a side effect of the non-breakable space is that the VALUE() complains with Err:502. CELL("TYPE") yields "l" (label) and CELL("CONTENTS") yields a value which is still not usable by VALUE(). Editing the HTML source and removing the results in valid numbers, at which point VALUE() becomes superfluous anyway, as the cells are already a numeric type, and can be referenced directly in formulas. So - 1) results in a string type data value in resulting cell; and 2) VALUE() cannot determine the value of the string containing the invisible . Either fix works for me, but I imagine that they are related and would probably be fixed concurrently. I am attaching a page of specific data (anonymized to protect the innocent)... the last three tables rows were edited in the HTML source to determine whether leading spaces, the , or both were the cause. However, this is easily reproducible with a table containing a single element of data. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 52554] problem with Auto-Save
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=52554 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 27 11:16:49 -0700 2005 --- Further to my first posting on using “beta version 2” as example “There could be two ways to fix this problem, (2)” PREAMBLE: The “AutoSpellCheck” icon (ABC with inverted red w) icon can be click on/off, making the background highlight while in “on” mode. SUGGESTION: Make the background of the “Save” icon (floppy disk) highlight-able. So we have the following options, (a) “save” icon not highlighted, lift click the “save” icon to save document on demand (as it works now) (b) Right click the “save” icon to highlight/not-highlight icon (new feature suggestion) to turn AutoSave off/on. So while the “save” icon is highlighted the program has “AutoSave” mode switched on, while the “save” icon is not highlighted the program has “AutoSave” mode switched off. END: This way as you are writing at a document you can see a glance whether the AutoSave feature is switched on or off, without having to go to Tools > Options > Load /Save > General > to find out. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I am just not sure what is the right fix but the current state is inconsistent (checked in m120). The files are still build in the module wizards. See wizards/prj/build.lst and the line: wz wizards\source\formwizard nmake - all wz_reswiz NULL It means that basicsrvform.zip is created and delivered to solver. But the .zip file is ignored then because it is no longer added to the installations sets in the module scp2. It was probably done in scp2/source/ooo/file_ooo.scp where the other .zip file still are uncopressed into share/basic/. Also the following registry are still installed: share/registry/schema/org/openoffice/Office/FormWizard.xcs share/registry/data/org/openoffice/Office/FormWizard.xcu share/registry/res//org/openoffice/Office/FormWizard.xcu I am not sure but these registry could be related to the actually non-installed FormWizard stuff. I am not sure about the version, I think it was m115. There was a reverse inconsistence. The basicsrvform.zip was not created in the module wizards but scp2 wanted to install it. So, both modules (wizards, scp2) were fixed in m116 but it is inconsistent again. The only difference is that the inconsistence is hidden now. Is the FormWizard stuff still necessary or not? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. So please check whether your old templates have the correct language set for the text. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=25080 User cloph changed the following: What|Old value |New value Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |DUPLICATE --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 27 10:38:03 -0700 2005 --- I guess this issue is about the toolbar-icon and that "הכנסה" meanst Insert and "הכנסת טבלה" means "Insert Table" It is desired behaviour that the toolbar-button is labled "Insert" and not "Insert Table" since it is used to insert other things as well, not only tables. Make a long-click on the button and you can insert frames, graphics, footnotes, etc. If you double-click one of the choices, you make it persistent and the icon will no longer show a table, but e.g. the graphics-icon. A lable "insert table" would be wrong in this case. -> duplicate of issue 5667 (see also issue 3720) Since the toolbar-layout changed completely and there is no general insert-button anymore, this issue does not apply to OOo 2.0 (even if it would, the tooltip would still be OK). For future issues please remember that most people dealing with the issue cannot read hebrew. so please always describe the issue in english as well. *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 5667 *** - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
