Hi, 
 
when trying to use bibus (http://bibus-biblio.sf.net) with OOo native 
interface (i.e., setting up bibus database as an external bibliographic source 
via ODBC) I cannot change OOo to read data from particular table in the 
database, but OOo always picks the alphabetically first table from the 
database (which is not the correct one in the bibus case), even though all 
databases (including the one OOo picked up) where checked off in Tools/Filter 
Tables of OOBase, and even though I tried to use the roll down button in the 
Bibliographic databases manager. Unfortunately, that makes bibliographic 
support in OOo unusable for me and thus (I am a PhD student writing my thesis) 
it makes OOo as such unusable, so I have to stick with LyX for time being. 
 
BTW, it doesn't matter whether the ODBC connection is set up from SQLite 
(which has somehow unreliable ODBC driver, true) or from MySQL (which should 
be OK). See http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/tmp/ooo-biblio/bibquery.png for 
illustration of the incorrect behavior of OOo, and 
http://www.ceplovi.cz/matej/tmp/ooo-biblio/oobase.png to show that OOBase can 
read the database correctly.

text boxes instead of as a table.  One embarassingly public consequence was that

You're correct that I misinterpreted what the program was doing when a suffix
was added to a numeral. I believed the font size was changing, but I now see
that the position is. I also see that by resetting the formating or going to the
third tab of the Character formatting screen a user can set the position back to
normal.

However there is still a minor defect here. The bug I see is the inconsistency
of behavior. Following the steps in the intial bug report will demonstrate this
inconsistency in the latest version. Just disregard the inaccurate Summary I
entered. If need be I can re-enter the bug with a proper summary.

Keep in mind that I don't consider the changing of font position after a user
types a numeral and a suffix to be a bug itself - I understand that is the
intended functionality.

Hi I can confirm this issue with 2.0.1 RC4, german version on WinXP

Reproduce it with following steps:
- Install 2.0, custom installation, change installation path, select all MS file
types that are to be opended with OOo
- Start OOo to create user profile, close OOo and Quickstarter
- MS Office Documents are now automatically opened with 2.0
- Install 2.0.1 RC4 in the same way
- Start 2.0.1 RC4
- MSO Files are now opened with MSO again

I was able to download nl_NL.zip and it seems, like spellchecking works (but I
don't know any dutch word).

At least Daach is marked as incorract, Daag is suggested instead ...

rovri: could you again try to download the dictionary? Don't forget to aktivate
them on Linux. If dictioanries are vene not shown in the list for download,
there might be a network problem .. i had all the disctionaries in my list.

found in 2.0.1 RC4, german version on WinXP:

After installation of 2.0.1 RC4 an additional empty toolbar appears and the
toolbar "insert" is active.

I tried it two times in the following way:
- Install 2.0, only one start of OOo to create the user profile (toolbars are
ok, no changing at all)
- Install and start 2.0.1 RC4 and the empty toolbar appears
- after that I removed 2.0.1 and tried it again, same behaviour: after
installation of 2.0 the toolbars are ok, after installation of RC4 the empty
toolbar appears again

I am using OOo 2.0 and the problem is always there on first save after
modification, but does not re-occur on a subsequent save. The only modification
was deleting a blank cell. When I delete a cell with contents on first entry the
problem also occurs

History of prior installations as I recall was OO 1.1.4 then 1.1.1925 then 2.0.
I believe that I uninstalled both 1.1.4 and 1.1.1925 after I installed 2.0

After some experimentation, I've figured out that this bug was introduced
in 1.1.5, presumably as part of the code that turned the style palette
into a sidebar.  It was difficult to make this determination, because it
turns out that my new motherboard isn't supported by older kernels, and
1.1.4 is not available for download anymore.

Either keep older versions around or make x.y.N+1 versions ONLY bugfix

Steps to reproduce the problem

* Open the attached doc "longissue.odt". It is a 33 page doc, with blank lines
created using two paragraph breaks, and single paragraph breaks after single
sentences. Note at the very end of the document a line: "This is the last line.
In the original doc, the above three paragraphs were repeated 100 times." 100 is

The following procedure works for short pieces of text, but on a moderately size
doc such as this, it causes severe data loss.

* Find "$" replace with "!token!", regular expressions checked. As yet another
issue with regex, not all paragraph marks end up being replaced by !token!.
Repeat the find/replace operation hittng "replace all" again. the search now
takes significantly longer, and the wakefull eye already sees that by now
document already is missing its end and is corruptes, so we could already stop
here. However, usually, one would notice this only later.

* Now Find "!Token!!Token!" replace with "!para!", regex not checked to later on
replace all two consecutive paragraph breaks with one.

* Replace "!Token!" with " " (space) regex not checked.

* Replace "!para!" with "\n" regex checked to insert paragraph breaks again.

Note that we are left with 15 pages only, the last line cut of. Note also that
the Fields have been corrupted: "Instance x" counts to 10, then further on the
fields are removed.

This is an issue resulting in severe data loss and document corruption which
therefore should have a high priority.

OpenOffice.org appears to be "freezing" because it is trying to download the
needed images from the Internet.

When you paste the HTML page to OOo, the images that firefox already downloaded
are not included. Actually, it would be interested to make OOo reuse the
downloaded images from Firefox.. :)

Therefore, you have to wait for a bit until after the images are downloaded. To
have an idea when OOo is downloading images, use a tool like TCPView
(http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/TcpView.html), if you use Windows.
Another support issue for OOo would be so show on the status bar that it is
downloading images, and which image it is trying to download.

Also, if you use a Proxy server to get access to the Internet, you have to tell
OOo (in the Options) about it. The default for OOo is to use the system setting
for the proxy server.

You mention that key navigation on OOo for this document makes the software
freeze. I did not manage to replicate this issue. I think you tried to use the
arrow keys in the "Manauvers" table, to go up and down. Between each row there
is an invisible row, so when you press the down arrow key nothing happens (the
caret becomes invisible), then you press again and it appears. This is because
the blinking horizontal bar went into the invisible row.

A tip to better use Firefox with these tasks: You can Ctrl-Click on specific
elements on an HTML page to select the pieces you want. For example, the
Maneuvers table is the most important, so you can select just that and paste in
OOo :)

To summarise, Reporter, try the above tips and tell us if OOo still hangs on 
you.

The below is why it needs to be considered a formula.  I should be able to enter
+R1C15 as easily as +123... etc.  I've used just about every spreadsheet since
Visicalc, and all of them treated +/-/= as formula initiators.

People like me who have used spreadsheets for 20+ years in every concievable
version cannot understand why this is such an issue.  I was really excited about
the OO 2.0 release because I like Linux, and I like python for scripting a lot
more than VB.  Unfortunately, Calc is still mostly useless to me and most
powerusers I know.
