@jjtn: can you provide an error report?
Currently I beliee that those cosmetic problems under special conditios cause
the crash your reported, but also, of course, may be my observations haven't to
do anything with the crash. A delveloper will decide.

Without a sample document I am not able to see any
 problem here. Line spacing
works the same as in MS Word since OO 2.0.

it46 (aep)- Karl

I can not provide you with an example in Hungarian but Spanish have one
character with multiple letters as the character CH, as in Che Guevara.

Following our discussion in the list i propose the use of the TR35 convention
of {}.

I attach a new locale and a text example (for spanish) for testing, the new
IndexKey looks as follows:

IndexKey phonetic=false default=true unoid=alphanumericA-C {CH} D-N
Ñ-Z/IndexKey

Hi,

Word document opened from Writer. At opening, Writer reports one extra page.
There is no way to delete the extra page.

I provide the open document where you _see_ two pages and writer reports three
pages.

This report is against OOo 2.0.2 and was requested by klawi (Sven Klawitter).

In about 278 places, the word Dia is still used instead of Folie in the
German online help of 2.0.2 - which needs to be fixed.

Please see the attached zipfile for the exact bug locations (file, id, etc.)

Regards,

Guido

1. Create a new Calc document; write abc in A1, def in A2, ghi in A3.
2. Edit - Find and Replace: Find de, replace with jk, Replace All.
3. def is correctly replaced by jkf.
4. Select gh, then Edit - Find and Replace

Expected:
5. gh appears in Find (as it happens in Writer), or Find is blank.

Actual:
5. de, i.e., the previously searched string, appears in Find. This is
absolutely misleading. If Find and Replace has to ignore the selected
text, just leave the field blank.

5. Edit - Find And Replace - is by was, Replace All.

Expected:
6. The text This was a hyperlink appears, was inherits link.

Actual:
6. The text This was a hyperlink appears, but link is lost.

This is broken also when replacing a part of multi-word hyperlink texts.

Hi,

i noticed, that the template wizard brings up an error message, if there is no
$(user)/... entry in the common.xcu for the Template prop.

will fail (was possible in 00 1.1.5)

   prop oor:name=Template oor:type=oor:string-list
value$(inst)/share/template/$(vlang) file:///E:/MyTemplates/value
   /prop

so it seems not to be possible to set a different standard path for the user
template folder outside $(user) ...

secondly the wizards suggest null\MyLetterTemplate.ott as standard path
for saving a user template ...

please have a look at the 2 gif's ...

IMHO it should be possible to set a path file:///... without using $(user).

regards

Oliver

I checked with 2.0.2 German version WIN XP: [680m5(Build9011)] and can
confirm the reported behaviour.
Same result with 1.1.4 (German) WIN XP: [645m52 (Build 8824)]

I can't find that anywhere would be promised that OOo help should transfer
marked cell area into the search pane, so it seems to work as designed - so
enhancement?

But I agree, it is worrying that this functionality from WRITER is not available
in calc. Should be unified.

The problem (i.e., caption cannot be deleted) still exists in OOo 2.0.2.
The suggestion to cut and paste the picture really sounds like a workaround to
most users.

@rainerbielefeld: maybe you are right, the two problems may be correlated.
I'm sorry but I don't have any crash report. After I kill the program and
restart it, only the document recovery dialog appears. Maybe the crash report
dialog is disabled? (I don't know of a way to disable/enable it, do you?)
I'll be back on my Linux box on monday, so if you think there is some place I
can look at please tell me and I'll do as soon as possible.
Regards
Mauro

reproducible with OOo on linux. (OS to ALL), but is not an import problem, but a
difference in how OOo handles fixed linespacings.

See the attached document and screenshot for an explanations.

When a fixed linespacing is used, OOo doesn't only apply it between the lines
(as it is the case when using double linespacing for example), but applies
some spacing above and below as well.

The linked file only contains the de_DE thesaurus, de_CH is also available. It
contains the same words but ß globally replaced with ss. Could that be
done during installation so that we can also offer de_CH without increasing
the download size?

In OpenOffice.org 2.0 Draw you can insert fields in menu Insert - Fields. The
format of this fields you can edit. This happens in menu Edit - Fields in a
dialog named Edit field. In Dutch translated as Veldopdracht bewerken with key-
id 209438. In this dialog is the English word Format translated in Dutch
as Formaat. This is incorrect and had to be Notatie.

Key-id 209435.Formaat had to be Notatie.

The same problem is in Writer. See the next issue.

In OpenOffice.org Draw 2.0 you can edit fields (see also issue 63341) in a
dialog. In Dutch this is 209438.Veldopdracht bewerken (In English Edit Fields).
In this dialog are two Option buttons named 'vast' and 'variabel'. This words
had to begin with an uppercase and had to be written as 'Vast' and 'Variabel'.
(In the English version the words are written with an uppercase).

Key-id 209436.vast had to be Vast
Key-id 209437.variabel had to be Variabel

recommendation, as made on list,

small favicon facing right (left to right) with high-contrast birds, either
white or black. My own pref. given
the size is for black birds: white might bleed into the space of the address
bar on most browsers.

if no interest...I'll probably choose Volker's as it is of the right size and
has adequate contrast.

thanks

I wanted to use the online help to learn how to paste unformatted text into
OpenOffice.org Writer. I clicked Help-OpenOffice.Org Help, went to
OpenOffice.org Writer, and clicked Index. I typed pasting in as the Search
Term. However, none of the subtopics of pasting were related to my query.
There was no pasting-unformatted text, pasting-text formats, or anything
else. I tried looking at pasting-from clipboard, but it didn't contain any
information about text formats, or how to make sure that the text was
unformatted.

Please add an entry to the Help Index about pasting unformatted text, or about
changing the format of pasted text. Thanks!

In the process of copying and un-doing textbox (and other object) creation (not
exactly sure of the steps), I ended up with diagrams with multiple, perfectly
overlapping textboxes that are unclickable. That is, I cannot click to select
the text (e.g., to edit or delete one of the extra copies). Yes, I can
click-drag to select all of them and then delete or resize, but the action
affects all of them, rather than just one.

Also, perhaps because of some anti-aliasing effect, the more duplicate copies,
the darker and uglier the text becomes.

The file I will attach was only created and edited using OOo 2.01.

I am using Mac OS X Tiger with recompiled version of freetype library which has
the bytecode
interpreter enabled. I also use Microsoft hinted fonts such as Times New Roman
and Arial. Smoothing
those fonts makes them fuzzy and undreadable, however, if smoothing is turned
off the fonts are VERY
clear and crisp. Although my X11 programs such as gedit (gnome editor) look
perfect with hinting
enabled and antialiasing disabled, OpenOffice doesn't turn off screen font
antialiasing when I check OFF
the checkbox in Tools - Options - View Screen font antialiasing.

Whether the checkbox is on or off OpenOffice smoothes the fonts anyway which
makes them look fuzzy
and unreadable. I remember that option did work in Linux, however, Max OSX
build seems to ignore
this option completely. I also tried to download version 1.1.2 of OpenOffice,
it has exactly the same
problem.

Thanks,

Kirill

I've been trying to report some bugs about Issue Tracker's layout and component
descriptions, and I can't figure out which component and subcomponent to place
these under.

I've checked the subcomponent descriptions for framework-www, qa-www,
documentation-www, and everything else I can think of. All of these www
subcomponents just have the description Web Publishing Module, which doesn't
tell me which bugs I should report to them.

So, basically, you guys should figure out where Issue Tracker comments and bugs
should go, and shoud change the component and subcomponent descriptions to make
this clear.

Thanks.

there is a way to access the individual text boxes: select all of them, then
press F8 or click Menubar-Edit-Points. You can then change the size of each
text box individually, the first one being the topmost. But otherwise,

could you be a little more precise about the problem ?

All the given formulas in your document are faulty, but it seems that you have
not understand the functions or better the parameter description.

No, the key attached to this issue is a NEW key that I regenerated after I
concluded that I could not be 100% sure that the key from
http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=36920 was safe. I would like to
remove the key from http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=36920 it
means, my OLD key from the keyring so that nobody can use the corresponding
private key to write access ooo cvs repository in cas it is compromised.

Thanks to contact me if you need more precision

Fridrich

I hope that you have received the file.
The line with a bullet at the extremity have following characteristic: width
0,35cm. If saved in the Microsoft Word 97/2000/xp format the width of the
bullet becomes 0,37cm; sometimes is transformed in arrow.

If a user installs the base 2.0 OOo onto their Windows machine using the
installer, and then downloads (say) the 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 patches and then
installs these in succession, the installer does not detect that this is an
'upgrade' of a previous version and adds multiple entries for OOo into the
Add/Remove Programs list, so you can theoretically uninstall it three times,
when in fact you should only be able to uninstall it once.

Could we alter the installer so that it does not put in multiple entries into
Add/Remove programs and by doing so perform a more 'seamless' upgrade between
maintenance releases of 2.0? (And also, uninstalling 2.0.2 should uninstall any
previous version of 2.0.x as well if it is installed into the same directory.)

OOo Writer doesn't jump to the correct position in the document, when the
destination (and so the entry in the TOC) of the link starts with an .. (It
jumps to the position of the link itself.)

For example in the attached document this would be the entry
... und die Gitarre war noch warm.

I tested that also with an other document and i had the same problem.
