There is no primary key and so you can't edit. Would like a way to enter new data in forms to these linked sources. Going one step further, and a better solution, would be a true data import function in Base where a new database, independant of the source file, can be created with imported data from a spreadsheet or a tab-delimited text file. You can copy the table from the Base file to a new file based on the internal HSQL. If you add a primary key you can enter new datas. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=65353 Issue #:|65353 Summary:|blank pages in WinFax Pro print Component:|Word processor Version:|OOo 2.0 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Windows ME Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|printing Assigned to:|mru Reported by:|fingercheck --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun May 14 01:21:43 -0700 2006 --- When I print to my fax program, Semantic WinFax Pro, one or more blank pages are inserted, and the page numbering is changed. Typically, the cover sheet WinFax function works OK. Problem is in the .ODT. Usually 1st and 3rd pages are blank. WinFax provides a fax overview side panel showing thumbnails of the pages starting with the cover page, which is prepared in WinFax. Those thumbnails show that page 2 of the fax (page 1 of the document being faxed) is blank. Using the WinFax wizard, one can move down to that apparently blank page (as in proofreading) - yep, it is blank. Page 1 of the ODT shows as page 3, whereas it should be pg 1 were it not for the preceeding blank. Page 4 of the fax is typically blank (both in the thumbnail and in the proofreading display). Page 2 of the ODT is displayed as page 5. I fax this document to my pharmacist aabout once a month. To order refills. Having noticed the blanks, I called the Rx. Sure 'nuf, they had been receiving blank pages intersperced with good ones. Played around with the document to see if it was sensitive to deleting some lines here and there. NO JOY. W/ cooperation of pharmacy, faxed the document, but prior to send, I put cursor on a blank page and pressed delete. Weent to next blank page and did same. Called pharmacy. They got it without the blank pages. THis is not a glaring defect, but has been present now for several months. Being a Scot, I hate to waste paper, even when the pharmacy, not I have to pay for it. System: ASUS motherboard, Semperon 64 bit processor, 512k memory. System has partitions C:\ thru O:\. It multiboots to PC-DOS 7 or Win ME. Also have Win XP home, but it is not working. FOOTNOTE: Tried faxing the list to another pharmacy today to ask their help in evaluation of all this new Medicare Rx stuff. The ODT window blew off while I was getting the fax sent. Several attempts. Rebooted after failure of CrashRep. As best I can recall, each attempt had some blank pages, but some had onnly onne blank page. Am retired programmer - mainframes. Will help test or recreate. Will send you a copy of document if you wish. As it is medical info, I would prefer to send it encrypted, and I know of a free way to do so called BitWise. regards, malcolm - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Also, when OOo was showing on the other display, OOo does not seem to like clicks into its window during the presentation. Starting the presentation on the second display (e.g. a beamer) or on the display where OOo is mainly showing makes more sense. A nice feature would even be to be able to see the speakers notes on the primary display while the secondary (beamer) shows the presentation. But that would only be an extra. NOt being able to get the presentation to the beamer is the bigger problem. To my former colleagues at Sun/StarOffice: Try to talk your mangers into dual head anyway! I have to scroll manually to the right till the rigt thin vertical line that is the symbol for the beginning of the right margin apears. It would be nice if the screen would be automatically scrolled to right after opening a document a) if (and only if) the text area is not fully visible on the screen. That means if the vertical line that is the symbol for the beginning of the right margin is not visible. b) until the beginning of the right margin is visible (may be one or two millimeters (pixel, points, ...) more so that the vertical line for the beginning of the margin is realy visible. c) if the vertical line for the left margin is in danger to go out of the writer window stop scrolling to the right. In other words: if the right end of the text is not visible scroll to right until it is visible or the left edge of the text reaches the left edge of the window - whatever happens first. A minimum (less complicated, but only half) solution would be to not show the left gray area (the desktop background) in such cases. Perhaps it has to do with a corrupt package registry -- got corrupted with earlier version, and corruption is now hosing the m168 versions that ericb and I are using. I guess the only way to test this is to move my ~/Library/Application Support/OpenOffice 2.0 folder aside, and start with a clean slate. The other option is that m167 works, and m168 re-introduced the bug for PPC. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Upon restarting OOo, clicking the '+' in Packagemanager gives instant crash. Looking at the data in the uno_packages (in ~/Library/Application Support/OpenOffice.org 2.0/user ) seems to indicate that the package was expanded and partially installed, but evidently not completely or successfully. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Maybe it is a good idea to make a list of all known names and have them all be ignored by the spellchecker (of cource with the ability to turn off this feature). Or a simple option in the preferences of the spell checker could fix it, too: Do not check words that start with capital letters and are not at the start of a sentence. Or is this already avaiable? The original idea was to be very blunt about facts connected to OpenOffice.org which are seen as not mentionable in classical marketing strategies (like i.e. that OpenOffice.org has bugs). The thought is that OpenSource has nothing to hide and that it's marketing shouldn't either. However, this idea in it's consequently thought form would have needed a lot facts which i couldn't find easily and which are probably not to be found at all. Hence i changed the concept a little and the result is found in the attached 6 sketches. (I'm more a graphics designer than a marketing guy, but didn't bother too much with the layout of these first sketches.) Would be nice if i could get comments on this. I'm not subscribed to the marketing list, but to the arts list, if you'd like to post there. André. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I use a keyboard remapper program which allows me to assign different ASCII characters to various keys and key combinations. For example I can assign ASCII 206 to ATL+SHIFT+P, or ASCII 198 to ALT+H, etc. In the previous versions of OpenOffice (1.x) I had no problems what so ever, just as with my other programs. But now in the newer versions (2.x) the program doesn't respond to the CTRL+SHIFT+ key combinations. All my ALT and ALT+SHIFT combos work just fine, and the ASCII characters in both the ALT, ATL+SHIFT, and CTRL+SHIFT are all in the same range (ex: an ASCII 190 will be in an ATL, an ASCII 191 will be in a CTRL+SHIFT, and an ASCII 192 will be in an ATL+SHIFT). So in summery OpenOffice no longer reconigizes my CTRL+SHIFT combo keys. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Here's what I found in a newsgroup: Be careful with replacing $ by another token. Better yet, avoid doing that. Replacing the paragraph mark by something else implies that temporarily, you create a very long paragraph. Writer will happily and without warning truncate all paragaph text that exceeds 64 K. Yes, there is a 64 K paragraph limit in Writer. This issue is known to the developpers. I know that m167 will NOT let me create a paragraph bigger than 64KB so this might be related to this.
