That's quite a bit of manual work required to get the result I expected when I exported a master doc to a single file (an editable document containing all the content that was in the master doc, that can be worked on or distributed separately, without the sub docs.) To allow a user to avoid the manual work described by srhoades when converting a ODM to an ODT (especially when the ODM contains a lot of ODT sub-documents), that when exporting an ODM to an ODT a dialog box appear asking the user to choose whether the he/she wants the resulting sections to have the Link OR Protected properties. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. On the Entries tab, there is no Chapter Info button (references can therefore only be to page numbers, and not to outline-numbered paras). There are also no checkboxes for Alphabetical delimiter or Key separated by commas User-defined indexes would be much more usable with these options. This problems occurs even if I first delete .openoffice.org2/. Note that OOo doesn't crash when logged in as root or another Linux user; just me?! The error message I get is: terminate called after throwing an instance of '(anonymous namespace)::unknown_xml_format_exception' OOo immediately asks me to send the crash report, then asks me if I want to restore files. If I say 'yes', it crashes again. If I say 'no', I get an empty document, as expected, but trying to open any file makes it crash again. I use OOo for years now (since OOo 1.1 alpha); it's the first time such a problem occurs. Could it be possible that for some reason, OOo needs or looks at external ressources which I don't have?? I understand the reason but it does not make sense to me to put the manual switch to use the Anglo-American style or the other in the general preferences. You always should have the option at least on import or per link you add. The Preferences are only useful to change the default behaviour to be different from your locale (usually not very usefull) and will always be wrong in a number of remaining cases, especially when you live outside the English speaking world. In my case it breaks my spreadsheet with fund quotes since banks do not seem to agree on one way of providing quotes. Morningstar uses American style, also for local sites, while local banks, especially in local languages often use the other format. Morningstar does not list all quotes there are, so it always fails for me while it used to work until 2.0.4. Also, the preferences are not the first place I look, the calc preferences are not even there when OOo starts up with Writer. So it did take me a while to figure out that this was not a bug but a feature ;-) I will always have a few broken links this way or I will have to continue to script quote downloads, for everything that is in the other than default format or behind https. Examples: http://triodos.nl/nl/personal_banking/investments/returns/?lang= This a localized site and some quotes are not on the .nl morningstar: http://www.morningstar.nl/quickrank/default.aspx?lang=NL - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It occurs when footnotes are numbered per page. When added text or an added footnote causes an existing footnote to move to the following page, the moved footnote does not renumber. E.g. footnote 3 will remain as 3 even though it becomes the first on a page. ToolsUpdateAll does not cure, but it is cured by changing numbering from per page to another option and then back again. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [dba-issues] [Issue 71830] cannot create any tables i n HSQL databases
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=71830 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 26 15:22:39 -0800 2006 --- Review 26.11.2006 The fundamental problem appears to be an inability of the CREATE TABLE routine in HSQLDB to access the necessary data to be able to create or copy a table. If a table exists it is possible to add new fields and to delete existing fields, but not to modify them. This problem may have been present with the beta 1.9 versions, as I was unable to explore HSQLDB at that time, although I never fully investigated this. It has not been a problem with versions 2.0 to 2.03, but is a problem now with version 2.04. I have tried 2.04 on four different PCs. On two notebooks, one running Windows Xp pro the other Windows Me, there appears to be no problem. On two desktops, both running Windows Xp Home, one with an AMD Sempron processor, one with an AMD 64 processor, there is a problem with OOo 2.04 but not OOo 2.03. On the earlier AMD Sempron PC I have removed nearly all the applications that might produce a conflict, but I have not resolved the issue. [The remaining applications either support hardware functions or are working harmoniously alongside OOo on one or other of the notebooks.] I can confirm that on one of the Desktops and the Xp notebook the hsqldb product version is returned as 1.8.0 and that using the extended call procedure produces an error message in both situations. Any suggestions as to where to look next would be helpful. At least one other user has had similar, although not necessarily identical, problems. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. You have to change the language of UI. If you have templates sorted into proper language folders, you can not open them when you select another UI language for OpenOffice.org. To solve this problem we should place a dropdown box with the currently available (template) languages in Templates and Documents dialogbox where the users can select the desired language of templates. We might use default and language name options as in UI language selection. The selected option should be remembered. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
