Due to the lack of a reliable global a11y focus event notification mechanism, the UNO<->native accessibility bridges need to attach as XAccessibleEventListener to each a11y object pretty early: e.g. if one inserts a new table in impress, the checks in AccessibleCell::Init (svx/source/table/accessiblecell.cxx) fail and no AccessibleTextHelper object gets created. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I assumed it was autosave, but perhaps not (has anyone tried turning off autosave to see if the problem goes away?) Just now I loaded a "Recent" document, it opened it with the cursor more or less where it had been when I last saved; then after about half a minute (while I didn't even have focus in the OOo window) it jumped two or three pages down, definitely NOT where the cursor had been last time. Where I see it most often, though, is after saving. It goes like this: finish typing, hit Ctrl-S. It takes maybe 10-20 seconds to save before the progress bar disappears. As soon as the progress bar goes away, I use the mousewheel to scroll down and continue proofreading. I typically get two or three pages down (maybe half a minute) when suddenly it jumps back to where the cursor is. and I have to repeat the scrolling down and finding my place. Is there an operation that typically happens half a minute or a minute after saving which could possibly cause jumping back to the cursor position? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Do you use an original OOo version? You cannot determine how accuracy a trend line is by counting how many points it hits. In most cases it will not hit any of the data points. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=81536 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 16 22:59:53 + 2008 --- All I did was confirm this as a QA member, and indicate that it worked in X11 via the OOo dialogues, and that it also worked natively in NeoOffice. If the problem is solved as Eric suggests in his How-to (which it would seem to be because it re-establishes the OOo dialogues), then why wasn't the issue closed ? I only stumbled across the issue because I was trying out webdav access from a remote network to my work machine, found that it didn't work, searched in IZ and came across it. I'm perfectly willing to accept the workaround until such time as the native file picker implementation can be completed to work with webdav, but in that case the issue should be marked Resolved WFM. If someone wants to open an issue, as Maverick suggests, for incomplete native finder functionality then that is fine by me. [sc-issues] [Issue 40366] EaseOfUse: Insert Row func tion is inconsistent
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=40366 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 16 22:02:19 + 2008 --- this issue is still an issue in 2.4.1 aswell as in 3.0Beta2 Btw: I treat progies doing unexpected things that need manual repair as buggy, the issue-type needs to be set to "defect". Just for the records: Row-insert is like insert-row-above (content moves down) which means "out-of-the-way-for-the-above" and duplicating the hard-formatted settings. so practically it is an "insert-below" from the row above. All wellknown other programms will use selections like "insert below/insert above", and that choice is right - to my point of view. However, the actual OO-behavior is wrong as you can see at another place: Insert cell will move the content as request - and duplicate the hard-formatted setting of the untouched cells above. By that you can break hard formatted settings you had apllied for rows before the insert operations. Note: moving a cell is a moving - what might be usefull(logical) with rows is senseless with single cells. And: cell-insert and row-insert should behave in an equivalent manner. So the best would be to enable the below/above dialog and duplicated the formats from where one has started. that is foreseeable and reasonable. [framework-issues] [Issue 81973] Honor "CLASSPATH" settings for Java apps/extensions
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=81973 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 16 21:52:13 + 2008 --- @milek_pl: If the only use-case/scenario is to create a self-contained and insulated (maybe even sealed jar) then you are right. To add flexibility you suggest that one would have to start to write programs, that scan disks on their own to search and find jars that should be used by loading the classes one-self. You also think that this is an easy programmatic job? If so, please sketch the necessary steps that need to be programmed in order to arrive at the flexibility that merely honoring CLASSPATH would allow for? (And please take into account that those programs need to become aware of the operating system they run on as well, adding another bit of complexity.) Ad "secretary": you are 100% right, fiddling with the CLASSPATH or *any configuration setup* is nothing a secretary could or should do! In organizations you have technicians or hire technicians to do that for you. --- Now think about honoring CLASSPATH (or allowing to programmatically change the OOo Java configuration) to add jars which should be searched by the UNO/OOo class loader. No programming would be needed at all! In the case that plumbing is needed, the easiest way is to do that by changing the CLASSPATH (and doing so would not be done by secretaries in this scenario, but rolled out by skilled technicians, e.g. batch updates to the system configuration in a form that honors different operating system environments). Now, if CLASSPATH should not be honored by default (e.g. for security reasons), then one should be able to supply a header entry in the manifest file to explicitly request the honoring of CLASSPATH. [Alternatively, being able to programmatically interact with the OOo Java configuration would allow maintenance people to do the same in essence: create patch scripts to update/replace/extend the jars that the class loaders should look up by default.] - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [api-issues] [Issue 31001] Currency variables do not properly assign to some values. Even CCur has problems.
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=31001 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 16 19:53:31 + 2008 --- As published in the OOo User forum by lorenzo2 (http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=7885&p=37054), the currency type is not properly handled in some basic math operations. There is an overflow after (2^31 - 1) / 1. How to reproduce the bug 1. Create the following macro in an empty Calc document Sub Main Dim oSheet as object, oCell as object Dim cost as currency, total as currency Dim buy as integer oSheet=ThisComponent.Sheets.getByName("Sheet1") oCell=oSheet.getCellByPosition(0,0) 'A1 buy = oCell.getValue oCell=oSheet.getCellByPosition(1,0) 'B1 cost = oCell.getValue total = buy*cost oCell=oSheet.getCellByPosition(2,0) 'C1 oCell.setValue(total) End Sub 2. Now, if you set A1 to 5 and B1 to 4 and execute the macro, cell C1 contains 20, as expected. 3. If you now change B1 to 5 and execute the macro again, C1 doesn't contain the expected value of 25 - on my computer, it's now 38,252,449,584,978.1 - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 81973] Honor "CLASSPATH" settings for Java apps/extensions
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=81973 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 16 19:45:01 + 2008 --- @ronyf: The class path configuration options dialog does unfortunately *not* solve the problem at all. The reason: you cannot set that information for a Java extension at installation time as there are no UNO APIs available to define those values! Why would you set it at installation time, and not in the Jar manifest? You can simply bundle all necessary jars in your extension and use two attributes in the manifest file: class-path and uno-type-path. If your extension depends on the software you cannot bundle, you should simply use disk search or something like this, and then load the jars by reflection or whatever the method, which would make classes load automatically. Using CLASSPATH variable is also possible in this scenario, simply get it value with Java API, and then load classes you need. Come on, these are very easy programming tasks! :) Plus, relying on the CLASSPATH doesn't seem to be very user-friendly either. A secretary doesn't know what environment variables are :P - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Open the attached spreadsheet and keep it open. 2. By opening 'Styles and Formatting' and applying right mouse entry 'Modify' verify that in the 'Numbers' field, there is a special definition of Category, Format and Format Code. You should also see this in effect in cell A1. 3. File - New - Spreadsheet 4. File - Templates - Organize 5. Click on the listed docs in the middle and expand entries until styles are listed 6. Use Ctrl+Left Mouse to do a drag & drop copy of special Euro style to new document 7. Close box 8. Use F11 to open 'Styles and Formatting' dialog for new doc, if not already open, make sure to look at the correct one belonging to the new doc! 9. Use right mouse context menu on Euro style to enter 'Modify' dialog 10. In the 'numbers' field you can see that attribute values for Category, Format and Format Code are lost. This is a bug as these entries were defined differently in the original document where the style has been copied from. I also have reports that the same can be reproduced on WindowsXP. [framework-issues] [Issue 91729] Select JRE on install of J ava-based extension
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=91729 Issue #|91729 Summary|Select JRE on install of Java-based extension Component|framework Version|DEV300m25 Platform|Unknown URL| OS/Version|All Status|NEW Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|tm Reported by|milek_pl --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 16 17:53:01 + 2008 --- OOo doesn't select JRE automatically, even if it's the only JVM on the machine and the user installs an extension that requires Java. I consider it a defect because I get questions from people that don't know they should enable this option and complain that the extension is dysfunctional. In this case, OOo should silently select the only Java as the user definitely wants to use Java for the extension being installed. For maximum transparency, a new dialog may be introduced, saying: "You are installing an extension that requires Java. Do you want to activate Java Runtime Environment in OpenOffice.org? Without it, the extension will not work." Extensions lack the possibility of specifying Java dependency (and version number) but this is another issue. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 50590] allow different sets of JR E (Java Runtime Environment) parameters

You can easily setup a script that changes the params before launching OOo. IMHO this will be faster than any mouse-clicking etc. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 91691] It is not possible to form at end notes to appear in double columns
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=91691 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Jul 16 17:23:43 + 2008 --- I am not convinced that this issue is a duplicate of issue 62845. The symptoms are the opposite of the symptoms of issue 62845. The end notes always appear in just one column when it is desired that they be formated in the same number of columns as the main text, while in issue 62845, the footnotes follow the format of the main text. Additionally, in issue 91691 a new section in a new page is automatically created, when it is desired that the end notes would be next to the text. When issue 62845 is solved, will the solution applied to it be enough to solve issue 91691? - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [dba-issues] [Issue 69889] [a11y] Table Wizard panel has several inaccessible components.

In looking at the German translation file, I see that "knpf" is the short braille for the push button rolename and "Schaltfläche" is the long braille. By default, Orca should use the long braille for rolenames, and I just verified it seems to be doing so. Did you make any changes in your Orca preferences to use short braille for rolenames? It would be in the "Braille" tab of the Orca preferences GUI. >Also '> knpf' is coming on the Wizard Button, therefore orca is not be >able to show the 'AccessibleName' property content as expected. It use >something else :-( We have made the general rule of thumb that if there is accessible text being presented by an object, Orca presents that text since it is a *screen* reader. There has been some discussion about giving priority to the accessible name if it exists (which is what you've done in this case -- thanks!), but we have run into cases where the accessible name is programmatic garbage. As such, we've been better off giving priority to the accessible text instead. I'll talk about alternative approaches with our UI person. Some options might include: 1) Using images instead of text for the buttons in question. With this, Orca will fallback to the accessible name, which is the main reason accessible name exists. 2) Making the new strings accessible descriptions or tooltips that the user can get to via Ctrl+F1 when then button has focus and/or via Orca's "Where Am I" functionality. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
