It seems to be some kind of form. I did my tests with I checked with Ooo 3.0.0 RC3 Multilingual version German UI WIN XP: [OOO300m8 (Build9357)]. Someone with more knowledge than me should find out - how that hang appears - whether it's a DEFECT or whether an Enhancement Request is required - whether the problem is related to or a DUP of an other Issue with similar www contents problem - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [porting-issues] [Issue 95552] OOO is uncompilable on mac hines with KDE4 installed in /usr/lib, even if kdelibs-3.5 are present
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=95552 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 16 09:56:05 + 2008 --- The problem is actually much deeper. Before linking of libvclplug_kde (which takes place in vcl/util/makefile.mk), SHLxSTDLIBS is properly set to $(KDE_LIBS), but, in the linker command, $(SHLxSTDLIBS) is placed _after_ $(SOLARLIB). Unfortunately, on Linux, SOLARLIB contains $(XLIB) (see config_office/set_env.in:1420), which in turn is /usr/lib (/usr/lib64) on modern machines. There are two things I could think up for solving it: 1. Add $(KDE_LIBS) to _beginning_ of SOLARENV if we are building with KDE. (We are already adding MOZ_LIB in the same style, so there is a precedent.) 2. Move $(SOLARENV) at the end of the linker command, so libraries from $(SHLxSTDLIBS) are searched first. That's what I have done for SHL5LINKER in the affected .IF branch; it should preferably be done for all other definitions of SHL5LINKER too, if only for consistency. I suspect there'll be the very same problem with KDE backend from desktop and Kab driver from connectivity, but I haven't checked it yet. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Something like Keep this slide. So that the user can define masterslides as must-have slides. I think the market leader of presentation programs has an option like this. When the user wants to close an presentation in which OOo would remove some master slides, there could be a dialog Impress will remove unused master slides. Please check if you checked all you must-have masterslides. I know that this is no perfect solution. Please read my first comment. The Alt key combinations were just one out of three examples, so please don't reduce the issue to just the Alt+... part. 2. tommy27 wrote people who do not need Alt+soemthing hotkey could easily leave those unassigned. Exactly. Nobody would be hurt. I might add that probably most users only work with OOo under one OS only and therefore wouldn't even notice that the shortcut possibilities might be different on different OS. 3. The discussion whether OOo is a M$ Office clone or not seems totally irrelevant to me. Given that most OOo users are Windows users, offering a Windows-only solution would still make sense imho. Even offering features only available on Mac OS and/or Linux can make sense. There is imho no problem with OS specific features in OOo as long as they are documented for the user. Besides a lot of features in OOo are used only by a minority of people, and compared to them the features suggested in this issue have (quite obviously) a LOT of potential users. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 96251] Combined text/drawing cont ents moving misplacements
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=96251 Issue #|96251 Summary|Combined text/drawing contents moving misplacements Component|Word processor Version|OOo 2.4.1 Platform|Unknown URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P2 Subcomponent|editing Assigned to|writerneedsconfirm Reported by|typist --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 16 15:35:27 + 2008 --- Hello OO-team! I'll refer to this matter as 'Defect', because it's the closest call to what's actually going on. Maybe also valid: 'Inconvenient/inconsistent editing behaviour'. When moving a whole block of mixed textual and graphical(drawn) content and trying to paste it in another content's paragraph, alignment of lines, boxes and integrated texts will get messed up. This is due to OO not automatically grabbing all graphics as a 'grouped' object, but regarding them as single objects each, obviously, which works deficient. To circumvent this, you must first group all graphical objects manually, which triggers another, real bug: formerly correctly aligned-to-graphics text will get misplaced, because the text flow formatting is lost. So you also have to re-format the text flow for the questionable graphical content once more, which will restore the original text positions. A rather tedious procedure when dealing with larger, more complex documents - each time again. A viable behaviour would be: 1) when grouping drawing objects, text-alignment / text flow will return equal results than the original combined content had 2) when moving / copying pasting combined content, either the 'single-treatment' of drawing objects is handled correctly, or all graphics are temporarily grouped together, till the procedure is done (preserving textual content's positions) Regards, typist - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 26137] Ability to annotate presen tations

The 2 last major revs of PPT have this. However, on a MAC, neither of the latest 2 versions have this capability, nor does Keynote. Nor does OpenOffice. This capability is becoming increasingly popular on campus with instructors having prepared slides that they would like to ink up in class. It's leading instructors toward tablet PCs running Windows and Office. I would make a STRONG pitch to add this capability to OpenOffice, at least for the Mac product, since it will mean wholesale jump from Office to OpenOffice by Mac users in schools and universities (like me). [framework-issues] [Issue 4756] Expand shortcut possibiliti es (Use of Alt key is not offered)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=4756 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 16 23:36:08 + 2008 --- Ditto Matthias's comment. And I point folks also to burg1's comment: (as suggested on other issues before) drop the system of selecting a new shortcut from a predefined list. Instead, let the users press the actual shortcut themselves (and have OOo read it from the keyboard), as in M$ Word. Some of sba's (and the other devs'?) concern seems to be with predefined OOo shortcuts that might have to be different on different OSes. While I see no problem with that in principle (users of multiple OSes generally understand that key bindings are perforce different on the different platforms), I also think burg1's suggestion also has a lot of merit -- user-defined shortcut possibilities should not be constrained to a predefined list of key options. Matthias's original posting likewise suggests this: c) Allow Shortcuts with language-specitic characters for foreign keyboards, as for example Strg+Ö or Alt+Shift+å Basically, if the user has any particular key on the keyboard, they should be able to use that for any user-defined keyboard shortcut -- be that å or Alt or Apple or Hyper, or what have you. Concerns about window managers grabbing the keypress instead of OOo should be addressed not by limiting OOo options, but rather by: 1) OOo querying the WM and notifying the user if a certain combo is unavailable (ideal, but much more complicated) or 2) simply warning the user in the keyboard shortcut definition dialog that the WM might already have certain key combos defined, such that certain OOo keyboard shortcut possibilities might not work. Restricting OOo shortcut options, though simpler to develop, does not strike me as a particularly user-friendly approach. Just my $0.02. Right clicking on the X or Y axis and then choosing Object Properties *should* give the option to define the title. It doesn't. 2. If a title is missing, then Format-title is greyed out. It shouldn't be: formatting an empty title would of course add it. 3. I can save the document with relative links intact, BUT, when I reload the document all relative links are translated to absolute links based on the local file system. It is important to understand that the problem occurs when the document is loaded. The relative links are transposed to absolute file system links. I have seen responses in other reports such as this... Just have a look at tools/options/load save/general , there you`ll find a check box for storing URL´s relative or not. ...but this does not work. The settings under... Tools - Options – Load/Save – General – Save URLs Relative To ...In this options area OO provide two checkbox choices: “file system” and “web”. These settings have no effect on correcting the problem above. It seems that there should be another option called “relative”. ---Or perhaps having them both unchecked I would expect that the link specifics would be maintained exactly as entered. So if they were unchecked I should be able to maintain a relative link such as “index.html” or “./index.html” or “./mydir/index.html”. I would have attached a simple html test file, but there was nothing on this form to include a file. The problem is very easy to create as described above. To summarize: You can save an html file with a relative link, but when you open the document again with OO it will convert the link automatically to absolute file based on local file system. Adjusting Options General Load/Save will not correct this problem. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. This issue is about the mini portable internet device,of course the operational capability of this hardware is not excellent as notebook computer. My colleague think his code is also useful for OOo. The font shows up one way in the Normal, Outline, Notes, and Slide Sorter views (where it looks like Gill Sans Ultra Bold), and it shows up as a totally different-looking font in the actual Slide Show (where it looks like Lucida Blackletter). I saved a sample slide as an Impress .odp file and reopened it, and got the same results with the .odp file. I will attach the .odp file and screenshots to demonstrate the problem. I am running Mac OS X v10.5.5 on an Intel-based Mac with all the fonts that came with the OS, plus Microsoft Office 2004 is installed along with its accompanying fonts. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 96265] word completion during edi ting leads to doubled spaces
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=96265 Issue #|96265 Summary|word completion during editing leads to doubled spaces Component|Word processor Version|OOO300m7 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|ENHANCEMENT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|editing Assigned to|writerneedsconfirm Reported by|richardneill --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Nov 17 04:04:45 + 2008 --- Consider the following example. If I type the word 'his', I am offered the completion of history. To accept it, I press RETURN; to reject, I carry on typing by pressing the SPACEBAR. Now, consider that I have the following text already in a document: 'her example'. I wish to edit it to become 'his example'. So, I click at the end of the word 'her', and BACKSPACE twice, followed by 'is'. OOo very helpfully offers to complete the word to 'history', which in this case, I do not want to do. So, as usual, I continue typing by adding an extra space (in order to reject the offered completion). Unfortunately, I now end up with 'his example', containing TWO consecutive spaces. OOo is behaving correctly, but it isn't doing what the user expects. The principle of least-surprise is an argument for an exception here. What should happen is that, when editing an existing block of text, if word-completion is rejected with the spacebar AND the next character is also a space, then OOo should discard the spurious character. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
