[framework-issues] [Issue 101224] common autocorrect replac ement table for certain languages subgroups (i .e. en-US, en-GB)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=101224 --- Additional comments from tomm...@openoffice.org Sat Mar 6 09:32:50 + 2010 --- hi os, haw are you? almost an year passed from my last post. i'm writing here again since you know i have already 65k italian autocorrections stored in the acor_.dat file (all-languages autocorrections) and then i started filling the acor_it- IT.dat (italian language for ITALY). actually i'm very close to the 65k limit of that acor_it-IT.dat as well (last count was 62673 entries). this means that i'm very close again to the crash limit. for this reason it would be a bless for me to have the acor_it- non_localized.dat file we talked about in previous posts. this would give me several advantages: 1- it would allow me to enter another 65k autocorrect entries... that means another 2 years of bad typing to be autocorrected by OOo 2- it would allow me to have a single acor.dat for english regardless of sublocalization (en_US, en_GB, en_AU) in which i could store all the typing errors that are common to all english variants (i.e. yrllow -- yellow) and use the localized .dat files only for those words with varable spelling (i.e. color in american english -- colour in british english) do you think this STARTED issue could be FIXED in OOo 3.3? thanks again for your patience and help. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=109871 Issue #|109871 Summary|Slide formatting not backwards compatible Component|Presentation Version|OOO310m19 Platform|Other URL| OS/Version|Palm OS 4.x Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|formatting Assigned to|graphicsneedsconfirm Reported by|lazygun37 --- Additional comments from lazygu...@openoffice.org Sat Mar 6 13:00:36 + 2010 --- I have several presentations recently created in Openoffice Impress 2.x and saved in standard odp format. When I open these in Oo Impress 3.1, the formatting on many of my slides is changed, with, for example, text being shifted relative to graphics on various slides, and text boxes that previously fit fine on a slide now being too large. It is difficult to know exactly what is causing the problem (could it be something as simple as a change in the default page size?) It is really frustrating that a presentation created in a recent version of Impress and saved in the standard OO format would fail to open in exactly the same way in a newer version (and dealing with this on a slide-by-slide basis will be a ton of work). Backwards compatibility should surely be one of the most important things to ensure? In any case, is this a known issue? Is there a work around? Could it be fixed permanenently? THanks! Christian PS: I would be happy to provide a sample slide whose format is altered along with a saved PDF version of what the same slide looked like in 2.x. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=109876 Issue #|109876 Summary|Unwanted line break if New (text only) autotext inse |rted Component|Word processor Version|OOo 3.1.1 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|Linux Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|editing Assigned to|writerneedsconfirm Reported by|mmartin_bln --- Additional comments from mmartin_...@openoffice.org Sat Mar 6 15:16:49 + 2010 --- First: I'm sorry to open another issue on this one, but I am completely dissatisfied with the classification of the problem as Enhancement for OOo v2.1 in Issue 79861. Please read on before you consider marking this one as duplicate. What's the issue about? As reported in79861, when an AutoText entry is created using the New (text only) option in the AutoText dialog, the expected behavior would be that the AutoText entry is stripped from all formatting and saved. When you insert the AutoText again, you'd expect it to behave like unformatted text, taking the formatting of the paragraph you're inserting it to. What happens instead is that the AutoText is inserted, followed by a newline or carriage return. I my case I was trying to create AutoText entries for the THIN SPACE als well as the HAIR SPACE characters, because I use them frequently in my typsetting works. When I insert the AutoText, I want it to adapt to the respective formatting of the text I am editing. Having these characters inserted with a succeeding line break makes the feature unusable for that purpose. And since normal AutoText behaves the way I expect it (inserting in-place WITH the formatting of it's own, without a line break), I reckon the behavior of the text only AutoText to be inaccurate. BTW: it is _not_ possible to remove the newline by editing the autotext entry. It is inserted again after saving the changes. To me it seems evident, that the issue reported is a DEFECT, since the behavior that can be observed is different from what you expect the regarded function to do in the first place. The Problem also ist still present in v3.1.1 (ubuntu5), and as I suppose in more recent versions also. Please tar and feather me if it's not. I don't have the possibility to install a higher version on the computer I'm using right now. But it should be easy for someone else running latest OOo to confirm or to dissent. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I would agree that Solaris 10 is the most sensible requirement for OOo given that Solaris 9 has reached End-of-Life. I was however drawn into testing OOo 3.2 on Solaris 9 SPARC as it is still listed as a platform for localization testing: http://www.sunvirtuallab.com:8001/tcm2/opensource/tcm_maintenance.cgi?tcm_config=newoooaction=platform (as indeed are Solaris 8 SPARC and Solaris 9 x86) BTW http://www.openoffice.org/welcome/readme.html doesn't mention Solaris 10 as requirement - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. In Calc I make the calculations which I copy paste special into the text. In this way I created a format too, so I don't have to leave the text-page at all. A small Calc-sheet is already embedded. This worked fine til I updated to 3.2, two days ago. The existing invoices will open in Writer, but the Calc-sheet is missing. Not hidden as far as I can see; it is just not there. Only the Writer-data emerge. As it is Inland Revenue and myself are very fond of my old invoices and also of the Calc data they carry. Note: I can create new invoices by the above manner, they function quite well in 3.2, so that does not seem the problem. Note: I reinstalled 3.1 and had no problem at all. Only that this version of 3.1 crashes sometimes with a VISTA runtime error. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Then change the color of the axis from default grey to some other color - for example black. Now copy the chart and paste it in another sheet of the same Calc file. Expected behavior is see an identical copy of the chart pasted into a new location. Observed behavior is that the axis color of chart is reverted (from black) to the default grey color. [sw-issues] [Issue 79861] Unwanted empty paragraph i f New (text only) autotext inserted
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=79861 --- Additional comments from mmartin_...@openoffice.org Sat Mar 6 17:39:57 + 2010 --- Here some more thought after a little more investigation. As I've described in Issue 109876, I'm simply trying to use text only Autotext to simplify inserting special space characters (HAIR SPACE and THIN SPACE) into text. Since I want those spaces to take the formatting of the text I insert them so, I chose New (text only) to create the entries. Now this is what we already had. What happens is that a line break return is added to that entry, which I think is the defective behaviour here. This line break cannot be removed by editing the AutoText, it is re-inserted every time. I cannot think of a reason why this should be wanted. Needless to repeat it makes the function unusable for my purposes. This also means that only changing the reading of the AutoTexts ist not the way to go. It would have the advantage not to have to correct all AutoTexts having this unwanted line break manually, yes. But it shifts the defective behavior onto those cases where a terminating line break is actually wanted, for example when I would like to have an ellipsis character (or another glyph) at the end of a paragraph and I'd like to insert a succeeding line break as well. However, I seem to have found a work around for until the issue is resolved. Create a normal AutoText entry from whatever text you want. Do choose New, not New (text only). The AutoText entry is created _with_ the formatting it had when it was created (paragraph style, character style, etc.) Now edit that entry, setting all styles (paragraph, character, lists, whatever) to Default. The highlight all text, right click on it and choose Default Formatting. The AutoText is now stripped of all formatting and should behave like unformatted text. Save and close all AutoText dialogs. When you now insert the AutoText, it correctly integrates with all formatting of the target text, and it doesn't have the unwanted line break. I've tested it and it seems to work like you would expect text only AutoTexts to behave. Hope this is of help for anyone. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [framework-issues] [Issue 109694] Insert Special Character Mac Crash
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=109694 --- Additional comments from arga...@openoffice.org Sat Mar 6 23:30:26 + 2010 --- I have just made another discovery: the crash/hang doesn't occur, if character insertion is done using keyboard navigation only. Ie. crash/hang only happens, when I click on a character (no matter if I use touchpad or mouse). The same crash/hang happens also when I open Preferences window (Cmd + ,) and click on 'Language settings' label. When I navigate this label using keyboard, everything is OK. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [sw-issues] [Issue 107063] bibliography entry number ed as 0 in frames
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=107063 --- Additional comments from arekzychew...@openoffice.org Sat Mar 6 23:45:08 + 2010 --- I tested it on version 3.2 and look at that this error is corrected. Just in the test file on a moment change the order of the image with the entry of bibliographic and refresh the bibliography and field. Then there are no longer appropriate numbers. Please confirm. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. It appears that any mouse click inside this dialog (either single click or double) will result in the aforementioned bug, but keystrokes do not. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
