When one downloads Openoffice using the automatic notification icon, there is no
way to select or change the download destination.
Instead one must go through a number of pages in the options to change it.
As well, it is often not accepted.
So one is contrained to downloading to the wrong location, and then transfering
the file to the intended location.
This may not seem like a significant defect, but virtually every other site
permits selecting the download destination, usually with a suggested default.
Worse, if the user doesn't have privileges to download to the suggested
location, they can't even download.

So this defect defeats the purpose of notification.

What one would reasonably expect :
1) A download location is suggested, with the option to freely choose another
location.

2) Under the options menu, an additional option to keep the previous suggested
download location, or to suggest the latest download location.
It is only of moderate utility to be able to configure the specific download
location under the options menu.
There could always be a default Openoffice download location if none already 
exists.

I'm seeing similar behavior in form textboxes that are bound to database fields.
Cmd-V inside the textbox doesn't work, but the context menu's version of Paste
does. 

I got it working for a little while by going into Customize and setting Paste to
Cmd-V for Base: Design View, but that stopped working when I closed the window
and opened it again. (The customized keys are still defined, but they don't
actually work. I checked.)

Another data point: I use TextExpander (
http://www.smileonmymac.com/TextExpander/ ) to expand short strings into longer
phrases; it modifies the clipboard as part of its operations. Whenever I type a
short string that it's supposed to expand, TE gets as far as clearing the short
string out, but when it pastes the long phrase, that paste never shows up.

I am plotting three data sets (two in dollars, one in percentage) against the 
date 
(X axis) in one graph.  In OO v. 3.1, the graph correctly shows the dollar 
range 
on the primary/left vertical axis and the percentage range on the 
secondary/right 
vertical axis.  However, in v. 3.2 the secondary axis text shows up mingled 
with 
the primary axis text on the left, and the secondary axis is clear of text.  
Recreating the graph from scratch fixes the problem, but as soon as it is saved 
and reloaded the problem recurs.

Hi all!

If you really need, I can attach the source, but it does not really matter - the
same problem occurs also if the dates are written to cells manually or for
example copy-pasted from notepad. She actually located the problematic date to
be 26-Jul-1790 by writing the dates manually to calc cells.

I'll ask her to check the date settings as well as to update to the latest
finnish version.

sticky to it. The redmond product does it right. This would improve user

Evidently, there is a regression... Trying to build 3.2.1 (320 m19) on
FreeBSD-8.1 using --with-system-openssl:

checking which libssl to use... external
checking for openssl ... Package openssl was not found in the pkg-config search
path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `openssl.pc' to the
PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'openssl' found
configure: error: Library requirements (openssl ) not met; consider adjusting
the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard
prefix so pkg-config can find them.

It is a shame, that the FreeBSD port is not using the system's OpenSSL or this
regression would've been caught long ago...

I can not reproduce this problem in the edit view with the attached metafile,
but I know there is a similar issue with bitmaps.

I can, however, see a performance problem in the running slide show.  An
otherwise empty slide with just the attached metafile on it takes very long (or
forever) to display when the metafile is rotated.

I can still not reproduce this.

There is a good chance that this problem will go away as soon as CWS
renaissance1 is integrated.  The slide sorter has undergone a major
restructuring in that CWS.  For example not all previews are created at once. 
Only the visible ones are.

The libxml2 dynamic library is part of the stable URE ABI (at least on Linux,
Solaris, and Windows; see ure/source/README).  On Solaris, changing from no
symbol versioning to symbol versioning should be a compatible change; on

of the LIBXML2_GLOBAL_VARIABLES symbol versioning block appears to have no

Perry's suggestion -- to use a AF_INET- rather than AF_UNIX-based DISPLAY did
not help. Both localhost:0 and 192.168.1.101:0 values resulted in the same
problem...

BTW, I doubt, the problem is FreeBSD-specific and think, there is something
about the latest Xorg (perhaps mixed with the KDE-4.4.5, that's used for GUI)...

I will try rebuilding with the GNOME/GTK interface now (which would be a shame,
because this user's primary desktop is KDE-4). Other than that I have no other
ideas :-(

The OOo script that I am referring to (and tidying up a little bit) was
originally created in 2006 and worked back then (I remember to have tested it in
person). 

In this summer semester a group of students tried to take advantage of
"SimpleSystemMail" according to that 2006 script and ran into the mentioned
problem (which I therefore looked into myself, now that I got a few days of free
time, causing the creation of this issue).

Again, sending the e-mails interactively (flag="OPTIONS") works, so the
unattended sending should work as well.

I had the same problem with Version 3.2.0 (OOO320m12 Build 9483) on Windows.

I tried to copy and paste the table from
http://dlcquickplay.com/dlc.php?sub=&order=12&sort=desc, which - at least at the
moment - has very slow response times.

When pasting into Calc, it was nonresponsive for multiple minutes, which seems
to be a very long time in regard that the copied section of the page has only
about 10 images.

Saving the page and copy/pasting locally (see attachment), takes only about 10
seconds.

I don't mean to be flip, but it should be obvious (from the file) that I am 
using x86_64 linux.

I hadn't before. Just tried it with the same results:

$ oocalc
GC Warning: Repeated allocation of very large block (appr. size 131072000):
May lead to memory leak and poor performance.
GC Warning: Repeated allocation of very large block (appr. size 524288000):
May lead to memory leak and poor performance.

Maybe it is supposed to be encouraging that the program is only allocating 
blocks half the size as before, but that is not enough to get it to run.

Text to columns doesnt' work on first text selection, i have to reselect. I 
have 
an printscreen.

I select a text, cut from his location and paste. Text remain selected. If i 
apress text to columns , only one cell is converting. If i cancel, reselect 
cells, and text to columns, work.
