Oops I made a misstake here..
I understood that the asian languages had to be switched off but I see now in
the other issues that it has to be switched on to get vertical text.
Problem solved i suppose must still I must say tat it is quite confusing that
this function isn't switched on by standard. Would have saved me a lot of
searching time..

The autotest /framework/required/f_windowfunctions.bas

caption of the office window for each application and the backing window.
The test for the backing window fails because - when the test closes documents

I am using Impress version 3.1.2 on windows xp and even whitout 'enabling asian
languages'on there is no vertical text possible. I can select the vertical text
command when changing the working bar but when I return to the document it
immediately switches off. So as I see it there is no way to put in vertical
aligned text in impress. Is this correct ?
I also tried it whith a new clean document and it won't work in that either.

Adding to my comment from August, 3rd: 
Right now I opened a text document. A superscript'ted text lost its superscript 
formatting. 
I definitely did not edit that text (for a long time), but I edited the text 
paragraph it belongs to (ends with). 
It is really a bug, a very unpleasant bug. It appears to happen randomly. 
I recommend, you reopen the issue. But maybe the original footnote matter isn't 
the same bug as the 
formatting losses. You decide ...

Under the same condition that is the same as that of matuaki, I couldn't even 
open 
the "Format Cells" dialog. Calc crashed then, this is probably because "Number" 
tab is the default tab that is shown first when I open the dialog.

issues re sal_Unicodes. However, reading the additional comments from sb Mon Jun
22 10:34:10 + 2009, regarding msgNo=18462, Subject: Unicode---Give us all of
it!, apparently OOo was initially written to support only Unicode
Plane 0: Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP) (U+ to U+) and a lot of modules
might need to be modified to support other Unicode planes. This is unfortunate,
because apparently, from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supplementary_Ideographic_Plane#Supplementary_Ideographic_Plane,
apparently Plane 1, the Supplementary Multilingual Plane (SMP), is also used for
currently valid symbols, including musical and mathematical, as well as
historical symbols. 
The fact that the OOo Formula can't take advantage of the STIX Plane 1:
Supplementary Multilingual Plane (SMP) Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols
(U+1D400 to U+1D7FF) should be a concern, since the STIX fonts were created by 
consortium of publishers of mathematical, scientific, and technical books and
journals to serve the scientific and engineering community in the process from
manuscript creation through final publication, both in electronic and print
formats. Also, OOo the STIX fonts will support OOo competitors: "Additional
OpenType features will be added in the second release which will allow using the
font in Microsoft Office applications such as Word 2010. The third release will
add LaTeX support." (See http://www.stixfonts.org/.)
So, first and foremost, as I want to use the STIX fonts, of course I think that
this issue is important, as I really don't want to use Microsoft Word or LaTex
to write my mathematics and scientific documents. 
Secondly, I disagree that this issue is an "enhancement", because the Special
Characters dialog allows the selection of U+1D400 to U+1D7FF symbols, which it
shouldn't do, so I call this a bug. 
Thirdly, the OOo 3.2 documentation claims support for PostScript-based OpenType
fonts, which implies all of the Unicode Planes and doesn't say only Plane 0.

"un-installing" every shred of the program – 3 times, then re-booting = to no 
avail.

Openoffice.org 3.2 claims to include support for PostScript-based OpenType fonts
(See http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/features/3.2/#general_font). Whereas,
this only partially true as apparently OOo 3.2 Writer supports only Unicode
Plane 0: Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP) (U+ to U+) (See 
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supplementary_Ideographic_Plane#Supplementary_Ideographic_Plane).

For example, the STIX Fonts Version 1.0.0 (see http://www.stixfonts.org/)
PostScript-based OpenType fonts includes Unicode Plane 1: Supplementary
Multilingual Plane (SMP) Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols (U+1D400 to U+1D7FF).
When the STIX fonts are installed, in an OpenOffice.org Writer document,
Insert>Special Characters>Font: STIXGeneral shows no characters greater than or
equal to U+1D400. I.e. there is no Subset: Mathematical Alphanumeric Symbols.
 
Note that blank squares in the Special Characters array corresponding to U+1D400
to U+1D7FF can be selected. The Characters field shows blank characters and,
when the Characters are inserted into the document (via the OK button), the
characters entered in the document are blank . 

That the STIXGeneral font includes glyphs for U+1D400 to U+1D7FF is apparent
from the STIXv1.0.0\Glyphs\STIXGeneral.otf.pdf file in the STIX Full Download
(see http://www.aip.org/stixfonts/font_download.jsp). 

NOTE: The STIX Documentation (PDF file, see
http://www.stixfonts.org/STIXFontReleaseDocumentation2010.pdf) Known Issues
predicts this problem: "Currently there is limited support for glyphs/characters
in Unicode Plane 1. This lack of support is not a font issue but rather an issue
with the rendering software (e.g., browser, word processor, etc.)."

I have a document which is a mixture of text and bitmaps generated by using
alt-printscreen.  The graphics are anchored as characters.  When I first open
the file all seems ok, however, sometimes when I try to view the text at a
random location, one line of text has a diagonal section across its length which
is not visible.  Furthermore, I cannot cursor down through that section of text.
 If I close and reopen the document the problem goes away for awhile, but
eventually shows up in another location.

The com.sun.star.deployment.PackageInformationProvider service may deliver wrong
URLs to installed extensions. Therefore, the
com.sun.star.ucb.ExtensionContentProvider may not work correctly because it 
uses it.

The PackageInformationProvider was intended for services, which need to find the
installation location of the extension where they come from. The
PackageInformationProvider.getPackageLocation is supposed to deliver this
information. However the implementation just searches the user, shared and
bundled extension and returns the URL of the first found extension. It does not
take into account, that this extension is disabled, which can be the case with
user extensions. If the service was started before the extension was disabled,
then the service will continue to be active during that session and
getPackageLocation should return the url for the disabled extension. However, if
code which is not  from that extension wants to know the location then it must
not get it, because it must not use the extension.

getPackageLocation also does not work when live deployment enters the game.
Let's think of a shared extension Foo version 1. Foo contains a service which is
started in OOo and at some point it needs to load some resource from the
extension. It therefore uses the getPackageLocation. Now the extension Foo
version 2 is installed in the user repository during the same session. If the
service from Foo version 1 calls getPackageLocation then it will obtain a URL to
Foo version 2, which may contain completely different resources. 

A similar scenario exists when uninstalling an extension. Let's say the
extensions are installed as described previously, but the service from Foo
version 2 (user) runs. Then it is removed or disabled. The service can continue
to  run until OOo dies. If it calls getPackageLocation it will get the URL to
Foo version 1 (shared).

To minimize the risk, getPackageLocation should not only take the identifier but
also the version. It would still deliver the wrong URL in the mentioned
scenarios (provided that the same version is used in user and shared repository)
but one can assume that the same versions are identical. However, if one wants
to obtain the true location then this approach fails also.

The root cause of the leak is,
  . In SlideSorterModel::GetPageDescriptor(), it creates SharedPageDescriptor
objects and stored in maPageDescriptors array object.
  . in SlideSorterModel::Resync()->SlideSorterModel::ClearDescriptorList (void)
call, the maPageDescriptors array is reset and reconstructured. After that
SlideSorterModel in fact lose the reference to original SharedPageDescriptor
objects, and in sequential call to SlideSorterModel::GetPageDescriptor(), it
will create new SharedPageDescriptor() again.
  .  When SlideSorterModel::~SlideSorterModel() is called,  the original
SharedPageDescriptor's refernce count is decreased to 2. These 2 references are
from PageDescriptor->PageObject object and
PageDescriptor->PageObject->mpViewContact.  But SharedPageDescriptor should
responsible of releasing the PageDescriptor->PageObject object. It is also a
cyclic reference, although they are all not UNO objects.


The fix code will,

   When SlideSorterModel::Resync()->SlideSorterModel::ClearDescriptorList (void)
 is called, remember the overwritten SharedPageDescriptor  objects into new
array object maPageDescriptors_bak.
   When SlideSorterModel::~SlideSorterModel() is called, free
PageDescriptor->PageObject object explicitly, so the dead loop is broken and
original SharedPageDescriptor object can be freed normally.
   Create a new API PageDescriptor::FreePageObject (void) for that purpose.

I find that when a footnote number comes at the end of a line the text is put at
the end of the line, and the footnote number appears all by itself on the next
line. That would seem to be totally wrong. I believe that the footnote number
should be treated as if it were part of the word preceding it, so that the word
(or part of it) is moved to the next line, along with the footnote number.

Works as expected in DEV300m84. The portrait/landscape shift should not have
required a second print job; this was fixed with the printing changes that went
into 3.3.

This can happen if actual page format changes (e.g. A5, A4) were to happen since
the Mac printing system does not support switching page sizes during a job.
However this document only swaps orientation which does not necessitate a second
job.

I tested on win7 and OOO330_m3, with Hu locale. 

If I enter any value with comma as decimal separator it insert 0.000 and I can
save record.

If I enter any value with point as decimal separator it gives error:

Error code: -1, and java.lang.NumberFormatException.

If after the point as decimal separator, change the point to comma, then inserts
value, but will recognize comma as thousands separator.
Value in field will be stored as original value multiplied by 1000.

Assign developer, set tartget. 

May be a blocker issue?

The problem is that the expand: URL is not a hierarchical URL per definition and
thus is not supported by com.sun.star.uri.UriReferenceFactory service. As result
some new functionality that uses the mentioned service does not work.

The non-hierarchical expand protocol is actually not really useful in OOo
implementation. And thus it would be nice to exchange it with a new protocol.
Unfortunately the support for the new protocol that is intended to exchange it
is still not at the state that it could be integrated in OOo 3.3. Thus the
problem has to be workarounded in the new implementation for now by expanding
the URL explicitly.

description for what IS a typeface (aka "font family" in HTML).

Please read:

I confirm it, it seems to me as regression.
I created new form in OOo 3.2.1 as eremmel described, and it works in this 
version.

Opened form in OOO330_m3 and DEV300_86, the subform not shown until I went over
with mouse pointer.
The subform added object area color can be set, form not show it.

It is a regression.

derivative the ComboBox). Indeed using tab here is a bit awkward, on the other

XMLTextListAutoStylePoolEntry_Impl objects, which is put into
XMLTextListAutoStylePool in api XMLTextListAutoStylePool::Add(),  but they are

The summary is misleading; a more correct summary would be "OOo hangs when
opening a document on a nfs filesystem".

(Without having a strace to look at, we don't know if it actually succeeds in
opening (in the OS sense) but then hangs when reading it, or what it is that
happens. Also, the "share" term comes from Windows and should not be misused for
NFS mounts in my opinion. Also, let's call the user visible phenomenon a "hang"
and not overuse the term "lock". Locking in the POSIX and NFS sense might be
involved, or not.)

When opening the font menu the current active font should be visible, but
sometimes isn't. When a user has a large list of fonts then the font menu
becomes very long. When opened the font menu only shows the first 50 fonts in
alphabetical order. To reach a later font the user has to scroll down a long
list (screenheight) and scroll further to reach the current or next font.
Imagine a user who wants to try out several different fonts for a piece of text.
For every attempt he has to scroll down this very long list, which is very
tedious. What should happen is that when a user opens the font menu he is always
presented with the font list positioned such that the currectly active font is
clearly visible. This would enable him to immediately click on the next font in
the list. This can then be repeated until all desired fonts have been tried.

In summary: the current font menu only works fine for systems with less than 50
fonts, but is user-unfriendly for systems with many more.

Proposal to remove the font menu from the context menu.

Reasons:
- Technical limitations: because of performance problems we had to reduce the
amount of fonts displayed in the this menu (issue 61775).

Which systematic did we use to choose which fonts should be displayed?
-> the first 100 entries sorted alphabetically.
This means on a system with hundred*s* of fonts that fonts like Symbol, Times
new Roman or Windings (rather common fonts) won't be displayed because there
name is out of "Top 100" list. Useless.


- Missing features (or bugs) we won't implement (fix):

a) Such a context menu cannot have a preview like the toolbar font menu.
Looking for a suiting typeface without preview is awkward.

b) The menu entries cannot be reached by typing the first letter of the font
name. Reaching entries via keyboard input is essential in long lists.

Final small argument: cluttering the display with such a huge menu is ugly.

We should have a look on the usage tracking on this menu.
I suppose the amount is not very high.

not by configmgr itself.  From the described workaround ("m1" -> "m01"), and the
claim that it worked fine in OOo 3.2, my understanding is that the menu-specific
code currently does not do any sorting; but we should wait for cd (who is
currently on vacation) to clarify this.

The font menu can become very long with lots of entries. To reach the bottom
entry the user has to scroll down a long list, which scrollls slowly and which
is a tedious thing to do. Image a user who repeatedly wants to try out a
different font for a piece of text. For every test he has to scroll down this
very long list. The solution should be that for systems which have a large
number of fonts installed the font menu should be split over several shorter
ones. For instance with a hierarchy. Opening the font menu would show submenu's
with fonts named A-G, H-M, N-S and T-Z. In this example 4 submenu's. Or any
other solution which would make handling large number of fonts more userfriendly
than the current state of affairs would be most welcome.
