To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=97696 Issue #|97696 Summary|DEV300_m38, PDF export: a part 3.0.x password function |ality is lost Component|gsl Version|DEV300m37 Platform|PC URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|pl Reported by|beppec56 --- Additional comments from beppe...@openoffice.org Thu Jan 1 10:29:15 + 2009 --- I tried in Dev300_m38 the new PDF password security UI, I think the set/unset behavior of the buttons is handy, but I miss the possibility to set the permission password only (and have the file encrypted) and at the same time have the file read by everyone. That is, in specification at http://specs.openoffice.org/appwide/pdf_export/PDFExportDialog2.odt , on row 146, the sentence “Setting only the permission password will force the open password to be the same” has a side effect: you can no longer export a PDF file that can be read by everyone and at the same time have some permission set through a permission password. IMHO , this is the vast majority of the PDF files available on the web. Another observation is about the new strings. According to 3.5 of PDF 1.4 specification, the document is encrypted as well when you specify access restrictions (e.g. the possible use of only the owner password). Then you can have four level of access to a PDF document: a) no password: PDF is not encrypted, then no access restrictions (print, copy, etc...): anyone can read anyone can change the document; b) permission password only: PDF is encrypted, access restriction can be applied (limited print, cannot copy, etc...), only if you know the permission password you can change access restriction: print, copy, etc..; but anyone can read it; c) open password only: PDF is encrypted, you can open the PDF document only if you know the open password. In this case the user who knows the open password has no access restriction because the OOo PDF export filter enables all the access rights (see 3.5.2 of PDF 1.4 spec, for an explanation of expected PDF viewer action); d) both open and permission password set: PDF is encrypted, points b) and c) both apply together. May be strings at #3 and #5 on table 4 of the OOo PDF export specification need to be adjusted? In any case it seems that the change was only made in the UI, the API behavior seems unchanged. This was first exposed in issue 69923 but I missed the point then, sorry. I had time to build a 3.1 targeted version only now. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To present the case I uploaded a zip file containing the following files: doc-template-master-for-bug.ott the template used for all docs, contains the custom numbering style, named Appendix. slave-doc1.odt first slave document, heading numbering standard 1,2,3..., no custom numbering. Row six in this document contains a custom numbering applied to a couple of paragraphs. slave-doc-appendix.odt second slave document, heading numbering standard 1,2,3..., custom numbering (Appendix A,B,C...) the-master-document.odm the master document linking the two previous ones, into which the custom numbering on 'slave-doc-appendix.odt' slave document headings is ignored; the custom numbering on paragraphs (see row 14) is honored instead. the-master-document.odt a standard writer document, showing the desired numbering effect. In all documents the outline level is assigned to the same paragraph styles, only the first three styles are used. [framework-issues] [Issue 96288] Disabling the command “D igital Signature” does not disable a button with the same function.
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=96288 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 30 14:14:45 + 2008 --- The two attached files are: - an updated version of the extension to be used to test, and - a patch that changes the way the pushbutton “Digital Signature...” reacts to the enable/disable state of the menu “Digital Signature...” command (in the menu it's a dispatched command). A better method could be to have the pushbutton reacting dynamically to the enable/disable state of the “Signature” command, as the menu does, but I didn't implement it. The idea of disabling the pushbutton came out because while writing an extension for custom digital signature of the document, I realized that for a normal user to have two different signature methods can be confusing. So I need to disable the OOo standard signature method. May be the contribution of a security/digital signature expert developer it's useful. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Issue can be checked with the attached minimal extension, that will disable the Tools > Customize... menu item. The extension implements what it's explained in the Developer's Guide (http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/DevGuide/WritingUNO/Disable_Commands) Using a running OOo 3.0 with no opened documents, check if Tools > Customize... is enabled, the Tools > Macros > Organize Macros should be there as well. Install the attached extension, check again Tools > Customize... it should be gone. Check Tools > Macros > Organize Macros it's still there (correct so far). Now open an empty text document, close it and check again Tools > Macros > Organize Macros : it disappeared whereas it shouldn't have. To restore things back, remove the installed “CommandDisableToolsCustomize” extension, check again Tools > Customize...: it should be there, whereas Tools > Macros > Organize Macros still wasn't enabled whereas it should be enabled. Open an empty document, close it and check again Tools > Macros > Organize Macros : it returned. The issue seems confined to dynamic menus bound to menu bar, it shows up when menus are recreated due to change of frame. I'll try to investigate further and to build a patch for discussion. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The validators seem to check strictly for the length: “...the string should be 768 bytes long.” (I guess it must be read as “..the string _must_ be 768 bytes long.”). I'm still working on the array stuff problem. It seems lurking somewhere in the PDF tag structure generation (PDFWriterImpl::emitStructureAttributes), that emitted an array of over 12k elements for the document pointed out in #desc7. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [api-issues] [Issue 93203] Some of the OOo configurat ion elements are not updated synchronously usi ng the API
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=93203 Issue #|93203 Summary|Some of the OOo configuration elements are not updated | synchronously using the API Component|api Version|OOo 2.4.1 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|jsc Reported by|beppec56 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Aug 28 11:30:54 + 2008 --- It seems that some of the elements on the OOo configuration tree reachable by API are not updated correctly on the rest of OOo application if changed through API. To check, follow this sequence on OOo 2.4.1 with en-US user interface, operating system Debian, en-US user interface on KDE desktop 1) check in Tools > Options – Load/Save – General – “Save” group, the “Always create backup copy” checkbox is unchecked. 2) check in Tools > Options – Language Settings – Languages – “Language of” group, the “User interface” listbox is set to “Default”. The two listboxes “Locale setting” and “Default currency” should be at “Default” If not, then set all of them and restart OOo as appropriate. 3) use the following chunk of OOo macro code on 2.4.1 version and run it: Sub Main GlobalScope.BasicLibraries.LoadLibrary("Tools") oTheConfigRoot = GetRegistryKeyContent("org.openoffice.Office.Common/", true) oTheConfigRoot.Save.Document.CreateBackup = true oTheConfigRoot.commitChanges() oTheSetupRoot = GetRegistryKeyContent("org.openoffice.Setup/", true) oTheSetupRoot.L10N.ooSetupSystemLocale = "it-IT" oTheSetupRoot.L10N.ooSetupCurrency = "EUR-it-IT" oTheSetupRoot.L10N.DecimalSeparatorAsLocale = true oTheSetupRoot.commitChanges() End Sub 4) now check again the settings: the one set in 1) above is unchanged, whereas it should have been checked, the ones set in 2) are correctly changed: The two listboxes “Locale setting” and “Default currency” are at “Italian (Italy)” and “EUR € Italian (Itally)” as expected. If you restart OOo the setting described in 1) above is shown correctly changed to checked state. In my opinion after the commitChanges() method returns, the setting described in 1) above should be changed as the other two, without the need to restart OOo. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. I formed a patch from the cws sw30bf07, some doubts popped up: if I recall, the reason I put the chapter format swap at the UNO level, was that the ChapterInfo at the xml level is the same for both the TokenEntryNumber UNO index token and the TokenChapterInfo UNO index token. Whereas the swaps 'CF_NUMBER =-> CF_NUM_NOPREPST_TITLE' and 'CF_NUM_TITLE =-> CF_NUMBER_NOPREPST' should be performed only with TokenChapterInfo token, not in TokenEntryNumber. I'm not sure if the adapted patch takes this into account, I had time for a quick review only. This evening I'll have more time to spare to have a look at the complete cws. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Component|Word processor Version|DEV300m14 Platform|All URL| OS/Version|All Status|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard| Keywords| Resolution| Issue type|DEFECT Priority|P3 Subcomponent|code Assigned to|mru Reported by|beppec56 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mon Jun 2 09:44:15 + 2008 --- When you save to ODF 1.0/1.1 an ODF 1.2 document containing the new index feature implemented in issue 53420, the new elements are not removed. The resulting ODF 1.0/1.1 document will be read by OOo 2.4, but will fail a check using the 1.1 ODF schema. Furthermore opening with OOo 2.4 the file saved in version 1.0/1.1 with 3.0 will result in extraneous fields in some of the indexes (Index of figures, for instance) being displayed. To test, prepare a document in 3.0, using the new index features. An example document in ODF 1.2 format is attached. Save it in ODF 1.0/1.1 format, using the Tools > Options - Load/Save - General ODF Format version setting to ODF 1.0/1.1. The resulting document is attached. Then, dowload the ODF 1.1 schema from the OASIS site: http://www.oasis-open.org/specs/index.php#opendocumentv1.1 using a Java application as the one that can be downloaded at: http://www.thaiopensource.com/relaxng/jing.html unzip the ODF document and check the xml document content.xml. Some error will be displayed, an error log is attached. The test carried out with a home build DEV300_m14, GNU/Linux, Debian lenny. I'm not sure this is the suggested way of testing the ODF conformity. Please have a look. I'm trying to prepare a patch for this issue; unless it has already been addressed under another number/subject. To reproduce: Prepare a document with some chapters, at different outline levels, enable the outline numbering. Add a prefix and a suffix to the outline numbering style. Add an alphabetical index and use the three Chapter Info types available. Save the file. To check: - unzip the odt file, - locate the contents.xml file, - open it with a text editor (better if you can have xml syntax highlight enabled), and: - look for the text:alphabetical-index-source element. Please check the text:display values of the subordinate text:index-entry-chapter elements: the text:display attribute value is not the right one according to ODF specification. This problem is present in Dev300_m13 and it extends to other index types that now have the chapter information functionality added. The problem is present in OOo 2.4 as well, in alphabetical index only. I'm going to attach a couple of documents, one produced with OOo 2.4 that exploit the behavior and contains a table with a better explanation of what happens, and another one produced with OOo 3.0 DEV300_m13 where all the involved indexes are inserted (and the ODF 1.2 file has the wrong attributes). Please have a look at them. At the moment, I'm trying to figure out a patch to address the issue: to read older file with the bug (using 680 code line as divider), and save both the ODF 1.1 and ODF 1.2 with the right attribute value. I don't know if this problem exists in 645 code line (when files are converted to ODF, I mean). On the API side, at a first quick check, the com.sun.star.text.ChapterFormat.* constants (http://api.openoffice.org/docs/common/ref/com/sun/star/text/ChapterFormat.html) appear correct. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=88123 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Apr 10 12:48:36 + 2008 --- I carried out some quick check, without downloading the Callas pdfaPilot, and it seems that the only thing that can give that kind of error is the following Group dictionary, at the page level: /Group<> It seems that the page is marked as containing transparent elements while there are not, hence the check tool complains since it found no transparent object on the page. This would explain the error, it checks quite strictly against clause 6.4 of ISO 19005-1:2005 Norm. @pl. Is the following code (in PDFWriterImpl::PDFPage::emit): if( m_pWriter->getVersion() > PDFWriter::PDF_1_3 ) { aLine.append( "/Group<>" ); } correct? IMHO we should add that Group dictionary only if the page actually contains transparencies. @fjuillet, a couple of questions. Just for confirmation, is the number of occurrences per document equal to the page number? Do you have the same error with an empty page, e.g. a blank page, in this case with a single occurrence? Another test would be to check the PDF/A-1 of a document with a single page containing a single graphical element with a transparency. This last case shouldn't rise an error. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
