Although the declaration "Issue 23212 has been marked as a duplicate of this
issue." is not really fair (I reported 23212 on Thu Dec 4 20:25:00 + 2003,
i.e. is half a year earlier than 29848) - I am happy to hear that the issue will
be resolved after more than 6 years!
Thanks a lot, Ingrid!

I still hope to see the feature of printing writer documents horizontally
flipped. It is needed to print on transparent sheets (for overhead projectors)
with inkjet printers. So the unprinted side can point upwards, can get marked
with non-permanent markers and washed off for next use.

As one of the contributors to Dmaths,
I would not suggest to "include" it into OOo:
- Dmaths package is quite large (4 MBytes) while OOo is already very heavy
- developers would be more restricted by the "official" character
- installation and updating using the Extension Manager is very simple, esp.
under OOo3
This is my private opinion, a decision would of course be the sake of the
maintainer (D.-P.).

There are two options when creating new autotext:
(a) New
(b) New (text only)
When inserting autotext into a document, the results differ with respect to a
final line break:
(a) no final line break
(b) final line break (end of paragraph break).

I suggest to change the behaviour of (b), i.e. to suppress the final line break
when reading the autotext into the document.

Advantages:
(1) same behaviour for (a) and (b)
(2) especially for short type (b) autotexts "snippets" it is much more
convenient to continue typing without interruption to delete the final line
break
(3) a series of type (b) autotexts can be inserted without deleting the unwanted
line breaks in between
(4) the present labels (a) and (b) for the creation of new autotexts, which do
not reflect the above mentioned difference could remain as they are (otherwise
the labels should be modified!)

Backward compatibility:
It is only a very little efford to get used to inserting a paragraph break by
hand for somebody who is used to the present behaviour of (b).

By changing just the reading of autotext type (b), there is no need to change
anything inside existing autotext files, where both types of autotext are
stored
with and tags.

Gisbert

Still defect in OOo 2.1 - any hope for a fix?
One user reported that sometimes it looks alright with
underline {underline 123}
but
underline {underline x^2}
still coagulates the underlines - due to the exponent?

If a new keyword "rgbcolor" with values 00 ... FF would be introduced,

in former versions of OOo2 (OOo1 need not be considered as it cannot read OOo2)
it would just show as text and not spoil the formula completely with wild
question marks.

For users of OOo2 up to 2.0.4 we could just provide a little macro to replace
the new "rgbcolor xx" by the nearest "color cname" and all people will be
happy.

For large sizes, the "scalable brackets" look like parallel straight lines.

When producing double underlines with
underline {underline 123}
the results differ:
- sometimes it will be a single thick line,
- sometimes a double line too close to the underlined number,
- but sometimes the result is fine as expected.
This is the case
- on the screen (here dependig on the zoom)
- when printing (HP550C, also confirmed with other printers, e.g. Laserprinter
600dpi)
- when exporting to pdf.
One user reported better results using different fonts, e.g. Andale Sans.
One user got better results by saving the formulae as maths-documents and
linking them into the writer-document.
But these workarounds should not be necessary.

... or have you mistaken my "besides doubts" as doubts about the translation of
"keep ratio" ? No, it was only doubts about the files listed above.
The fact and the need for this issue are still very clear to me.
Just look at some Graphics-Programs:
PaintShopPro uses "Seitenverhältnis beibehalten",
CorelDraw uses "proportional".
Why follow the ways MS "translates" into german, where you have to click "Start"
if you want to shut your computer down ?
Sorry for my "Fassungslosigkeit" ...

No, "Sicht" is not "techie german" !
In german we use "meine Sicht auf diese Dinge" in the sense of pointing our view
to a certain matter.
"Ansicht" is closer to "meaning" (Meinung/Bedeutung), but with a given database,
the views at this database can be different depending on which data are selected
for the view.
This is also differnt from the "Ansicht", which is the technical term for the
zoom used to display a document.
I'put my vote for this issue now.

Is that a complete list of occurencies of "Keep ratio" and "~Keep ratio" or only
the "other cases" ?
I tried to match the filenames you have given to the dialogues with "Abgleich",
but it is impossible (for me) to be sure about it without looking into the
sources. I think the word "tab" in the filenames could refer to the "tabs" of
the dialogues (Register, like in firefox).

In my german version I find the following dialogues with "Abgleich":
Rahmen : could be frmpage.src
Nummerierung/Aufzählung-Optionen-Grafik : could be numpages.src
Objekt (Kontext-Menü): could be swpossizetabpage.src
For the others, I can't see what they mean.

But:
I think there is no risk at all to translate _all_
"Keep ratio" to "Proportionen beibehalten"
and "~Keep ratio" to "~Proportionen beibehalten"

- I do not see any meaningful alternative for the word "ratio" than
"Proportionen" in any OOo-dialogue.

Besides the doubts reassigned to ft

[sc-issues] [Issue 18035] macro recorder in scalc n ot recording all border selections correctly

In swriter-tables (OOo 1.1.4) there seems to be the same problem with
BorderInner.

The macro-recorder in swriter produces the same code when recording the changes
to border attributes of a seleceted group of cells in a table.

But when replaying the macro, only the outer borders are changed correctly,
while the inner borders are erased completely !

@jsk: why do you rewrite the code to
args8(0).Name = "BorderInner.Horizontal"
args8(0).Value = Array(0,0,88,0)
args8(1).Name = "BorderInner.Vertical"
args8(1).Value = Array(0,0,2,0)
while dwoody1 only wanted to have a vertical line ?

@all: what would a code look like which can make inner borders thicker ?

After the installation of OOo 1.9.77 on WIN98 SE, I tried to start OOoBase. It
started asking the usual licence and names-things and then stopped (OOo hanging,
I could kill the soffice-process).
Then I rebooted, but windows stopped booting and went into replacing the defect
user.dat by an earlier working copy.
(after that, OOo1.9.77 is not properly working: strange behaviour of mouse etc.)
