Seems to aplly to all symbols on top and all fonts I have tried so far. Anyhow, a workaround is no option since I have tons of lecture-presentations containing formulae(for teaching physics). My workaround is to stick to OO3.2 for the time being, till this gets straightened out. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 64670] make slides editable in sl ideshow (bring back live editing mode)
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=64670 --- Additional comments from micha...@openoffice.org Wed Jun 3 11:18:32 + 2009 --- Being able to edit texts (or move objects around) during presentation is of critical importance for professional presenters who like to keep their audience awake by interacting with them. I am lecturer and like the church people we lecturers probably generally hate to present like playing a slideshow and reading a preformulated text. For people who need restraints to feel more secure during presentation time, it might be helpful to be able to turn the live features off. Actually I used another presenter (active slide) for quite some time, which allowed for full interactivity by marking the object property editable at run time, but -among other problems- since the developers of that software ceased to support it any further(and worse - violated backwards compatibility) switching to a mainstream powerpoint clone like impress was unfortunately(?) necessary. Please - dear developers - allow yourself to surpass powerpoint in this important point. I personally wouldn't mind ending up with a presenter that is less compatible with microsoft in the long run and doesn't reproduce each and any powerpoint feature. Although I know you might be scolded for that by part of the community. Powerpoint is not a good piece of software after all! It lures you into adapting a bad presentation style. All of my votes for enhanced interactivity!!! regards micha137 - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. They all play media in OO2.4.1 consistently without problems. Despite having identical settings in Tools-options-java-classpath, in OO3.1 rc1 they behave differently regarding the reported Problem: Two systems show the described error messages (and additionally dont't play videos at all, show erratic behaviour on loading older presentations containing media - sometimes freeze, sometimes just don't play). One system doesn't play videos inserted by insert- Movie and Sound but plays the sound. This system plays videos inserted by insert-object-video but just once. Upon inspection of the content.xml file of the presentation I find that in OO3.0 insertion by Insert-movie and sound the mime type is stated as : draw:mime-type=application/vnd.sun.star.media (on the system that allows insertion at all but doesn't play the video) and that a video that is played once and had been inserted by insert-object-video the object is stated as : draw:mime-type=video/mpeg (on the very same system that plays videos inserted by that method once) Since you requested that, I will attach an mpg-video that -when inserted- resulted in this behaviour - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. On entering presentation mode and normally advancing to the page containing the video, they are played once. Progressing and going back again or jumping onto the page from somewhere else in the presentation does not result in playing the video again. That used to be the case in OOO2.4.1 In my opinion short video sequences must be replayable in a presentation. In 2.4.1 this could be done by a jump to the very same page by an interaction with a textbox play again or the like. This is broken now. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. [graphics-issues] [Issue 91472] videos don't play any more in impress
To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=91472 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Sep 10 10:04:08 + 2008 --- presently testing on OOO300m5 (Build:9350) on linux ubuntu hardy I should state more precisely now: Media Objects that had been inserted via Insert-Movie and Sound under OOO2.x don't play any more and can cause a freeze of OOO3.x. created an empty presentation, inserted three videos(avi and mpg), one on each page now using: Insert-Object-Video. (Formerly I had been using Insert-Movie and Sound under OO2.x) The videos now played in edit mode as well as in presentation mode. So it doesn't seem to be a problem of video formats under linux. This way of insertion (Insert-Object-Video) did not work in earlier versions of OO2.x so all my previous presentations had the videos inserted via Insert-Movie and Sound. This worked in OOO2.x but these linked videos do not play any more in OOO3 since m22. (Additionally sounds - inserted by this procedure also don't play any more) In my opinion this should be fixed for downward compatibility with presentations created with OOO2.x otherwise older Presentations would have to be reedited to run under OOO3.x, which may not be possible at all under OOO3.x since some presentations containing media inserted the old way lead to a freeze of OOO3 which has to be killed then via the process manager. There is still an Issue, however, with videos inserted under linux ubuntu in OOO3.x via Insert-Object-Video. They seem to play only once in presentation mode. Jumping back to the page containing the video does not result in playing the video again(even if they had not been played before) - just shows a dead beige video screen. Changing into edit mode and back to presentation mode seems to reset this so they can be played again then. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. The only way of playing videos that I know of is the following: 1.)Install JMF. (usually this just unzips the files to some directory in ubuntu) 2.) Manually copy jmf.jar (alternatively fobs4jmf.jar) into the /lib/ext/ subdirectory of a working JRE (It seems ubuntu needs the physical presence of the file in lib/ext. Working with paths redirections on the system level seems to work with other linux flavours but failed in my case) 3.) select the JRE where you added the *.jar file in tools-java 4.) declare the .../lib/ext/jmf.jar (or fobs4jmf.jar) in tools-java-classpath This works up to DEV300_m21 Videos just don't play in m22 entering the page containing the video leads to a system freeze(without crash detection and error reports to you) im m23 please test under ubuntu to confirm. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. Since my database has a large file: settings.xml of about 400kB with numerous redundant entries that used to be compressed by about 98% in former OO-base versions, this bug results in a greatly increased filesize. I cannot attach my database, because its content(about 300kB uncompressed) is confidential. Just creating a new database with one table and one entry reproduced the effect - settings.xml is not compressed. Alternatively: The settings.xml file looks rather weird containing tons of redundant data. May be this is due to an older/former bug surfacing now since settings.xml is no longer compressed. System Monitor shows that each time presentation is started, the memory footprint increases and some additional processor capacity is bound for no obvious purpose. Closing the file frees some memory, simply opening it again reallocates the excessive memory even without entering presentation mode. Processor remains busy even on closing the file. OO2.2 behaves perfectly regarding memory allocation as well as processing capacity on the same presentation files. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker. To comment on the following update, log in, then open the issue: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=65568 Issue #:|65568 Summary:|break link handles secondary ole objects improperly Component:|framework Version:|OOo 2.0.2 Platform:|PC URL:| OS/Version:|Windows XP Status:|UNCONFIRMED Status whiteboard:| Keywords:| Resolution:| Issue type:|DEFECT Priority:|P3 Subcomponent:|code Assigned to:|tm Reported by:|micha137 --- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu May 18 23:49:21 -0700 2006 --- In an Impress document I include a link to a writer document which itself contains a math object(a formula). After that I use the break link command to embed the text document. If I then enter the text document for editing, the chained embedded math object is replaced by an icon and lost. Multiple stage embedding seems to be handled incorrectly by break link. I consider this bug important since it makes sense for me to use linking during the edit phase of a presentation to keep filesizes of multiple versions decent and to finally break all links for portation to other systems or for handout. - Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
