I am testing OO 3.3-pre8 and can not duplicate your bug as written, yvh11a.
Unless I highlight the columns A-D to copy, and paste into columns.

I found this bug in a search for reporting my bug, and it appears similiar
enough to add to:

In my case, I was copying entire columns, and got different behavior depending
on if I was pasting into a highlighted column, or placed the cursor on line 1 of
the target to paste location.
Also, I got different behavior by pressing Ctrl-Z to undo, or going to the
Menubar:Edit.Undo

I am attaching a testcase with instructions inside it.

This is similar to bug# 113553, but goes beyond the simple bug reported there.
(Undo does not restore text, numbers, and notes after first column.)

This bug is for a hard crash during testing of that bug,
To duplicate, the sequence is:
Copy and Paste columns, Ctrl-Z to undo, Paste (columns) again in same location,
Menubar:Edit.Undo

Bang, OO doesn't know what state to restore the cells to, got lost.

My error report id is: rb38wbn

Who can confirm please?

Searching by columns no longer works.
Edit.Find, click More Options, click Columns in Search Direction
Expected behavior, to move down the column to the bottom before moving left or
right to next column.
Actual behavior, ignores selection of Column, acts like it always searches by
rows, right before down.

After pasting one or more cells, followed immediately by changing the border
lines or border colors of a different cell, the anchor changes back to the
pasted cell(s).

To duplicate, open a New spreadsheet.
fill a few rows with something (for visibility, rows 1 to 5 and columns a and b)
Select one or more cells (pick A1:B2)
Ctrl-C to copy.
Click elsewhere (pick A5)
Ctrl-V to paste.
Click elsewhere (pick C2 because it is nearby, but not immediately adjacent)
Click on the border lines button on the toolbar, Or ctrl-1 on the numpad, or
Border line color button. Choose any border line button, doesn't seem to matter
which one.
Immediately press [left-Shift] and move cursor (right,up,etc, pick right)

Expected behavior: a range selected from C2:D2
Actual result: a range selected from A5:D2
The anchor point reverted back to when the last paste occurred (A5)

This did not happen in OO_3.1 but is now present in OO_3.3-pre2 and pre7.

Further testing: It does not happen when selecting the X pattern (only found in
the formatting dialog opened with ctrl-numpad-1). Only the left-right-top-bottom
or surround-box lines trigger this bug.

Also, the selecting of C2 does not need to happen by mouse click. Using the Up
arrow button after the paste at A5:B5 will also not prevent this bug.

I can't believe I could not find this already reported using advanced search...

Just installed pre7 today. Upon opening a text document (.odt) or clicking New
Text Document and entering a few lines of text...
When I press [Up] or [Down] or [Shift][Up] or [Shift][Down] it just crashes.

The other movement keys, PgUp and PgDn, are okay.

I also tried erasing the ~home/.openoffice.org/3 directory to start clean, but
that did not have any effect.

This is the same as issue# a href=show_bug.cgi?id=1997619976/a and 49426
which was fixed in 2.2

The annoying behavior of grabbing focus IS BACK in OO 3.3 pre2 and pre7.
OO should not do the window manager's job, because this effectively makes it
impossible to do other work while OO is loading.

This is not a duplicate because I can not re-open the other issues.

Yes, that is Exactly what I wrote in the 4th paragraph.
Did you read I was not happy with that solution, because it affects the document

I am objecting to the change from 3.1 to 3.2

Where is the setting to change just the user interface fonts?

After entering a number into a cell, there is a 1/2 or 1 second pause before my
arrow key press moves the cursor.
This is a definite change from 3.1, when the response was fast or un-noticable.

This might be the same problem as reported in issue# 115326
but is all keyboard, and in a different place.

I have tried turning off Autocalculate, but that does not remove the freeze or
pause.

To duplicate, I have a large spreadsheet, I enter a simple single digit number
into a cell, like 1 and immediately press and hold down the right arrow key.

I expect it to move right away, but instead it pauses, and then moves. No it
JUMPS as if I have been holding the key down as long as I was.

Does it have something to do with adding the cell into it's internal lookup
table?
I am looking for differences between this spreadsheet and a blank one,
the column header has a =SUM(AP4..AP2193) and there are 22,800 rows.

I would expect either it to wait until I am not typing to do it's internal work,
since it could do it efficiently before,
or
If this can not be reverted, then I ask that the cursor not JUMP, but start
moving as if I just started pressing the key when it comes back from la-la land.
If I hold down the key x milliseconds, I have come to expect the cursor to move
exactly y cells, and I let up the key based on both timing and visual cues. Now
the results are mostly unexpected.

I hope this is enough to duplicate. Stewart

When exporting a chart, it always reverts to PNG.
When trying to change it, it does not keep the selection.

To duplicate, paste a chart into a new drawing.
File Export
Click selection
Click on the file type or the drop down button, it opens up a listbox.
Either scroll up and click the desired type, or type the first letter.

Here's where the problem starts:
Click outside the listbox.
1. Try the filelist box or scrollbar,
It reverts to PNG, and the file (that perhaps) you just attempted to click on
just disappeared as the file list box reverted too. Repeat process.

Or 2. try the drop down button, or even the now-changed filetype entry just left
of the drop down button and right of File format:. Clicking on the desired
filetype reverts to PNG! The only place to click and have it stick, is the
listbox popup itself.

Second, it used to remember my preference. Now it forgets. Could we get the
ability to remember, old behavior back please? Thanks, Stewart

Another consequence of relying on Scaling as a solution, is that it has
undesirable effects. Here is one:

Exporting a chart from Draw, scales the graphic down to that % setting.
Thus for the exported graphic files to be the same and consistent across OO
versions, scaling needs to remain the same.

During the Import review, If I leave the column set to Standard, the above date
gets imported as a string, which is not sortable. 10/19 comes before 10/2.

If I set the column type to Date (M/D/Y) it Does show in the preview as:
10/2/2010 02:56:04 PM
so it appears to be seeing it correctly?
Either that or the preview window has been dumbed down...
But after clicking OK for the import, the cell now contains:
10/02/2010 02:47:47
which now gets sorted before 12:53:08

This behavior has changed from 3.1, when it correctly identified the date on
it's own, and imported correctly.

When highlighting text on the input line, left-click-drag (right or left), the
display freezes up for up to 1 second. Sometimes twice.
This behavior affects the usability, as this did Not happen with 3.1.

My processor is AMD Sempron 3000 running at 2Ghz, so it is not a slow computer.

To duplicate, use arrows keys to select a cell, or click on a cell with text in
it.
Then immediately click on text and drag right. It pauses within a fraction of a
second, and pauses or freezes up for almost a second.

I have seen it freeze up twice, but don't know what triggered that.

It seems to happen right after selecting a new cell, because after the cell is
selected and dragging has begun, it does not do it again (or after twice) until
a new cell is selected.

This issue is not the same as #53167, despite the similar description.
This is in spreadsheet, and not dragging off the page.

The menu bar and dialog boxes are 116 and 130% of the size in 3.1 with the same
zoom scaling. That is 30% larger covering windows below.

This changed in 3.2, and I was so disappointed in this problem, I kept using
3.1. That _is_ a usability issue.

How can I reduce the font size for the OO system font without changing the
file content?
The only solution I see is to change scaling in
Tools-Options-View-User_Interface-Scaling to (at most) 92% and increase the
View-Zoom to 110%
But this is not a perfect solution, as I must change font sizes and column
widths to get the display back to the most efficient layout. I do not believe I
should be required to reformat my dozens of documents when a new version comes
out.

The button bar seems to have grown in height too. I would like to request it be
possible to return to a lean and efficient style.

If I may comment, OO 3.3 looks like a return to the days of Windows 3.1 with big
buttons and lots of white space. No texture. Not everyone will like that.
Appearance is important, but performance is much more critical.

When editing a formula on the input line, the helpful popup does not always
appear Below the input line.

To duplicate, have a complex formula entered in a cell, something like:
=$H12*SIN((I12-F12)/180*PI())

Move the mouse pointer/cursor over the center of the formula, click in -F12 or
highlight -F12 as if to change the contents.
If the mouse cursor is left on the line or above it, a yellow box appears below
the input line that says
SIN( number )
This is fine and good.

But if the mouse cursor is moved down, or drifts below the input bar, the help
box appears directly over the input line, making it impossible to see the
contents being edited.

Also when moving the text cursor, typing - the left arrow on the keyboard, the
help box location changes from below, to left and covering, or sometimes only
half covering. The way to duplicate this is to move the cursor left 20 spaces,
then right 20 spaces (to get your finger warmed up), watching where the help box
moves to then the key is for the cursor to move Left of the mouse cursor. It
only happens when the mouse pointer is directly over where the help box would
go. The area between the input line and the column grid, and also the top half
of the column letter grid.

When editing directly in the spreadsheet grid, moving the mouse around the Cell
being edited also results in the same behavior.

It looks like the help box is evading the mouse. I do not agree with that
behavior. The help box should never cover the input line, or the text cursor.

I've been frustrated by this bug for what? a couple years? hitting escape and
trying again, or having to re-edit the formula... If I had only known the
solution was to move the mouse! At least I can finally report it including the
trigger.

After moving a note, and removing the Show note checkmark, the note goes back to
it's previous location.

To reproduce:
New calc
Insert note
enter some text in the note.
Uncheck the Show Note
Hover the mouse over the cell to see starting position of note.
(Some time later, after entering more stuff)
Decide the note is in the wrong place, perhaps covering another note.

Toggle Show Note
Move Note to better location.
Toggle Show Note
Hover mouse over cell and see ... note did Not stay moved.

From a spreadsheet created before 3.0, I have a column formatted as 0.0.0.0 for
ip addresses.
I import access logs in csv format, and paste-special without formats into that
spreadsheet.

I have become aware of this bug becase Browser version numbers have changed from
0.0 format to 0.0.0

Now in 3.1 if I format a column or cell as 0.0.0 and enter 1.2.3 it shows as
123.0.0
and changes to 123 in the formula/edit bar field.

When I look back at the ip address column, which STILL WORKS in 3.1, ( I enter
1.2.3.4 and it shows as 1.2.3.4) When I look at Format Cells...Number, the
Format Code now shows as
000.0..
and the Format listbox shows the entry as
-1234.123456789.
and the Preview Field shows as
1.2.3.4

But, if I try to format a New cell with the format code of 0.0.0.0
and enter 1.2.3.4 it shows as 1234.0.0.0
I open Format Cells... and see:
The format code still shows as 0.0.0.0
The Format listbox shows as -1234.1.2.3
and the Preview Field shows as 1234.0.0.0

If I try to duplicate the weird format code that still works by entering
000.0..
then enter 1.2.3.4 it becomes 1234.0.

But I do see that formatting it as General does recognize 1.2.3.4 as 1.2.3.4
but that doesn't help fix 0.0.0

I import access logs in csv format, and recently Browser version numbers have
changed from 0.0 format to 0.0.0

When importing the csv text file, the text entry 3.5.1 DOES SHOW CORRECTLY in
the Preview, but after imported becomes 03/05/2002 having received a format of
Date.
If I try to copy and paste-special without formatting, of course it becomes
36955 because the format code is General.

I would expect it to be imported the same way as it is shown in the preview, and
be treated as text, since formatting as number 0.0.0 does not work.

To recreate:
New spreadsheet
Move to cell B2
Insert Note
Move to cell B6
Insert Note with 2 lines.
Toggle Show Note so it is visible.
Move note downward 3 rows so it does not overlap other note locations, or it's
previous location.
Move to cell B14
Insert Note
Toggle Show Note so it is visible.
Select rows 2-14
Delete rows
Undo

There are now 2 notes pointing to B6
They can both be highlighted, (and edited, but don't actually edit it or a step
below will change results)
Move to cell B2
Show Note
It is blank.

IF spreadsheet is saved, and reloaded, all 3 cells will be without notes, since
they are now blank.
The note pointing at B6 with text still visible, is orphaned.

Now move to cell B14, and uncheck Show Note
the orphaned note hiding behind it is now visible, so the act of moving the note
was not a cause.

Furthermore, move to cell B6
Copy
Move to cell B19
Paste

It copied only one note with no contents, however, note it's size is remembered
from the orphaned one with text, and is taller!

Select Column A
Insert columns
The orphaned notes do not move. Probably as expected, since they have lost their
anchor.

Behavior following delete rows and columns is different from deleting individual
cells.
Desired results: Undo should restore notes.

This bug is still present in release 3.1

It happens when clicking in the edit/formula bar between the Formatting toolbar
and the row/column grid. To the right of the math button and = (function button)

Pressing Ins to toggle to Overtype does not change the results, whether I am
already in overtype, or press Ins once or twice.

Click in edit bar, type over a character, press [Enter]. Check result. :(

This bug does not occur when pressing [Enter] to edit with the cursor below,
within the grid area.

It did it again today, and this time I was watching. Actually I was working on a
spreadsheet in the foreground. So I saw more messages to report.

Stalled at 1%
Transferred a partial file.
The Resume and Pause boxes were grey. it would not let me continue.

This doesn't look like the same error. This time it stopped and didn't restart
from zero on it's own. But I didn't leave it alone to try either.

The PPP widget running in the corner showed full bandwidth usage, then stopped.
There were no interruptions in the internet connection.

Also,
Yesterday, it said something about a host/dns lookup. That didn't make sense as
it should've already had that in /named/ memory.
Unless it tried to look up a different host mid-stream.

Also, I was able to download 3.0.0 successfully from 2.4 back 2 months ago, so I
did have reason to think it was fixed before.

I am not sure this bug is completely fixed.
I just had it happen again, running 3.0.0, downloading 3.0.1 about 34%
completed, and the Pause and Resume buttons went grey. The text message changed
from downloading .. to: Could not resolve host.

I could close and reopen the check for updates window. But the Paused and
Resume buttons were still grey.

When I looked in ~/Desktop the file I watched grow, was gone.
(Just when I had relaxed my guard and stopped copying it out to make sure I
didn't lose anything)

It is set to check weekly. How would that account for the restart two days in a
row, during a download?
After checking the requests it makes, I see it gets redirected to a different
server, one of which likes to hangup, or stop sending, frequently.
Does OO check the Etag, and reset if it changes?
or maybe it can't handle the server that stops sending.

continues to keep to it's assigned window in 2.4.0 and does not bother me any
more. I can also lower it below other working windows, or raise the others after
the splash window appears.

Running Linux and WindowMaker 0.92 for desktop here.
I recommend closing this issue.

Great rejoicing!
I found where to suppress the blank pages:

After the Print Mail merge is completed and the resulting odt file is loaded,
Click Options in the Print Dialog, Then uncheck Print automatically inserted
blank pages

Caution, This option does not remember your preference. Remember to uncheck it
every time.

This issue is fixed after all.

I also can not agree with WONTFIX.

I looked through the Wizards, and did not see anything about mail merge. The
only place mail merging is done is from clicking Print.

This problem still exists in 2.4 rc4 (m10)

I need to print envelopes from a ods spreadsheet-database, and also have a odt
template/document formated for envelopes.
I get a blank page every other record, and this is not on a printer with duplex
capability. I have to feed it 10 envelopes at a time, and then pick out half to
re-feed the printer.

Also it does not help to export to pdf and unselect the option Export
automatically inserted blank pages unless I should be printing my envelopes
from a pdf file??

Would this issue get more attention if I File a new bug report or vote for this
issue?

If I have a formula (in Sheet1) that references an external sheet, like
=A41+Sheet2.B65
and then insert a row above it, the formula will change to
=A42+Sheet2.B66

but it should not change the reference to Sheet2, because no rows were inserted
in Sheet2.

Still seeing this in OOo_2.2.1rc2_20070519_LinuxIntel_install_en-US.tar.gz

Are you sure you can't reproduce it?

Could it be specific to a graphics card?

Option HWCursor true

Option NoFlip 1

I tried changing the NoFlip recently, to see if it would fix a bug in a
different software program (blender), drawing the screen, but it did not in my

When I started using OOo-Dev_SRC680_m213_LinuxIntel_install.tar.gz last week,

all my charts stopped updating.

In a spreadsheet with 2 or more sheets; tables of numbers on sheet1, and chart
on sheet2. etc.

Correct behavior, as verified with v2.2.0-rc2
enter number in sheet1, sheet2 chart updates immediately.

Current bad behavior in m213:
enter numbers, chart is static, and has Not updated since last week, despite
daily updates and FileSave sequences.

IF I press F9, then the y-axis scale resets to minimum = 0, with different tick
intervals.
If I edit the chart to reset the y-axis, I verify it is set to automatic. But it
is not calculating correctly.
Thus the higher priority IMHO.

Also, If I Edit the chart without pressing F9, the same reset occurs, and the
chart does update.

Regarding the y-axis scale,
Editing with 2.2.0 gives good values: min, max, maj, minor, axis of
32.5,62.5,2.5,1.3,32.5 (Automatic),
but editing with m213 results in: 0,70,10,2,0 (Automatic).

additional info:
I notice the minor interval is no longer accepting fractions.
Seems like a good idea, but how does a chart with an automatically calculated
fraction interval get loaded?

I tried setting the intervals to 5 and 1.0 manually in 2.2.0, then loading into
m213. No change. :(
And updating the chart still resets the scale.

Only good news, is that going through with editing the scale manually does clear
the log jam, and automatic refresh/recalculation returns to normal afterward.

So something saved in the file needs to be processed or fixed automatically
upon loading.

A further correction:

Even after manually editing the y-axis scale, and saving it,
Upon loading it again, File.Open
it Still does Not update, even though recalculation is set with a check mark,
and upon forcing a recalculation F9, it Still changes the scale to it's liking.

Also, if I set the major interval to 3, and the minor interval to automatic, it
is capable of fractions, albeit not displayed.

When Tools.Cell-Contents.AutoInput is on,
If there are existing cells with contents, when I attempt to change the
capitalization, it reverts after pressing Enter.

To reproduce, open a spreadsheet,
Turn on AutoInput,
type into the first cell: sent
then type Sent into the second cell
it reverts to sent

Even if I turn off AutoInput, and fill A1 with sent and A2 with Sent, then
turn on AutoInput, and go to A3, and type sen and see sent suggested on
screen, and press enter,
it chooses to change it to Sent.

With Tools.AutoInput on, I can understand why it is helping, But, when I edit
the cell, I am unable to Force the contents without turning off AutoInput.

I suggest the behavior I would expect, is for OO to accept my edits, especially
when that word is already present elsewhere. Perhaps the lookup table is not
case sensitive? Or more importantly, the outcome is not rigid with the lookup
table. It should accept the case sensitivity if I type it. and especially if it
shows one thing, I press Enter, it should not change it at that late date.

editing a formula with fixed cell references by dragging the colored square to a
new location
causes the formula to no longer be fixed to that location.

(if moving from row 61 to row 70)
What was $C$61 becomes $C$70:C70
which when copied to numerous new cells is no longer fixed to $C$70
and the formula breaks, and must be edited by hand.

This bug introduced sometime between 2006.Aug and 2006.Nov.25

See attached spreadsheet.

@rainerbielefeld

The 3 button mouse is not a requirement, as an alternative you can have 3-button
emulation on, and chord the left and right buttons to do it.

However, if you are in Windows, there is no equivilant. So I suspect Linux is a
requirement.

Left-drag text to be copied, switch to workspace/screen with OO loaded, paste by
pressing middle button.

Also by pasting to a text editor, I can see no special characters. The spaces
really are 0x20. Therefore the problem must exist in OO.

Looking closely at content.xml in the odt results, I see 0xC2 0xA0 where the
problem is, and where it originally existed as 0x20.

Sorry for the slow upload.

The 3rd example makes it clear it is not because the text in the email is
Wrapped that it gets copied wrong.
In this email, every line ends with 0x0A
Thereby making every pasted line a single unwrappable block in OO.

I also note that copying from the compose window does not have this problem.
Just as copying from this comment text box.
So the source location does seem to be involved.

Looking up the documentation for the Selection Buffer in the X server manual:
icccm.txt

2. Peer-to-Peer Communication by Means of Selections

Selections are the primary mechanism that X Version 11 defines for the
exchange of information between clients, for example, by cutting and pasting
between windows. Note that there can be an arbitrary number of selections (each
named by an atom) and that they are global to the server. Section 2.6 discusses
the choice of an atom. Each selection is owned by a client and is attached to a
window.

Selections communicate between an owner and a requestor. The owner has the
data representing the value of its selection, and the requestor receives it. A
requestor wishing to obtain the value of a selection provides the following:

* The name of the selection
* The name of a property
* A window
* The atom representing the data type required
* Optionally, some parameters for the request

If the selection is currently owned, the owner receives an event and is
expected to do the following:

* Convert the contents of the selection to the requested data type
* Place this data in the named property on the named window
* Send the requestor an event to let it know the property is available

Clients are strongly encouraged to use this mechanism. In particular,
displaying text in a permanent window without providing the ability to select
and convert it into a string is definitely considered antisocial.

Note that all data transferred between an owner and a requestor must usually
go by means of the server in an X Version 11 environment. A client cannot assume
that another client can open the same files or even communicate directly. The
other client may be talking to the server by means of a completely different
networking mechanism (for example, one client might be DECnet and the other
TCP/IP). Thus, passing indirect references to data (such as, file names, host
names, and port numbers) is permitted only if both clients specifically agree.

Enough quoting, unless someone doesn't have access to the original.

Definitely not the same as Windows clipboard.

since m169,
When saving an ods spreadsheet, OO crashes.

I have also got the same error during Column.Delete and Rows.Delete and
Sheet.Delete and AutoSave.
and have this happening to 11 of 27 ods files, consistantly.

In attempting to narrow down the cause, I sent 21 error reports today via
test-tool.

I am attaching a blank ods file that was originally created in 2003 by OO-1.1

Something in the header, or something invisible that is not deleted by Clearing
the contents and properties/statistics, causes this crash.

I can upload this file.

Andrew, actually it looks like, when comparing to the 1.1 palette, someone
attempted to remove one color but didn't balance the draw:color... tag
brackets.

Would it be resolved faster if I attach a patched standard.soc file?
How hard can it be to fix? We're spending more time talking about it than
editing the simple error.

As of 2.0.2 (m150) the splash screen obeys the Initial Workspace setting in the

yea! It's fixed!

The default standard color palette in the 2.0 release is still not fixed.

Pale green (204,255,204) is actually mis-labeled with the color of pale cyan
(204,255,255)

Aside from any other discussions about how to make the palette better, or add
more colors... It's a shame this simple defect hasn't been corrected.

To reproduce, start with a blank ~/.openoffice.org2 directory, and uncheck
Transfer Personal Data. Then from any menu: Tools.Options.oo.colors

Not really.
I think it has been in the 1.9-2.0beta series for a while, but just recently
tried pinning down what pattern was annoying me.

I know it did not do this in 1.1.2, which I'm still using for making consistant
line charts.

Also does not detect typing after pressing [Del], gets stuck displaying delete
dialog, so seems to be a general problem with bring up dialog windows.

I still havn't pinned down when OO forgets keystrokes while recalculating, so to
be reproducable. I no longer trust it to catch up to my typing, thus the attempt
to reproduce.

In a version m130 (Beta2) spreadsheet with chart,
OO does wait for One second of pause in keyboard typing to go recalculate and
redraw the graph(s), during which time it does not show any subsequent typing,
thus looking like it is frozen for 1-2 seconds.

I question if One second is too short, and wonder if this can be set by the user
(me), but ...

The problem is if I press Ctrl-Shift-V for a Paste Special. OO does not
recognize that I am typing ( down space down down space, etc) and goes frozen
for 1-2 seconds, and I find that it usually Missed a keystroke.

The correct behavior would be to Not recalculate and freeze, while I am typing,
even in sub-windows.

I have 2 columns of datetime, and want to subtract them to get a column of
elapsed time.

It works correctly if I format the cells HH:MM:SS
but, I wanted days and hours.
The custom format DD.HH:MM doesn't work right, as zero is 1899-Dec-30, thus an
elapsed time of 0 days 12 hours shows as 30.12:00,
and an elapsed time of 2 days 14 hours shows as 01.14:00

Is there any way to handle this differently?
The only workaround I see for now is to add one day, then format it as:
[2]00.HH:MM;[1]01.HH:MM;DD.HH:MM

Seems messy. and won't work for more than 31 days.

Running 1.9.118 but upon checking oo1.1 it does the same thing there too.

Ok, so it doesn't do it all the time, but this bug does seem to require the
background fill to be something other than white.

Worse yet, just changing a few cells to other colors, isn't consistantly showing
the bug.
It seems to be affected more-so when the spreadsheet gets more complex.
I'll upload an example.

For maximum visual distortion,
get ( column Q OR around column AL ) to be just left of the vertical
scrollbar, then drag the scrollbar up and down.

In this spreadsheet, even the black font on white background cells are affected.

Since the New button has a drop down arrow, I thought the Open button should
too. It would be the most logical place to put it.

Of course, this suggestion sounds more like an enhancement, than a defect like
the original observation.

mci: A nice idea? Thanks!!

When pasting text with the mouse middle click, some of the spaces change into
grey spaces, or hard spaces.

Text was copied from Mozilla-1.7.7 mail using mouse drag. I confirmed the source
text has no special characters. just spaces 0x20 and newlines 0x0A.

There is a pattern to When this occurs.
1. any series of spaces greater than one between text characters. (this is
probably ok, as designed)
2. the last line before the 0A. here is the problem.

Mozilla is configured to wrap lines, so a large paragraph shows as several
lines. Only the last line between the last wrap (soft CRLF) and the end of
paragraph 0A has EVERY space turned into a hard space. Thus making the last line
a solid block, requiring editing.

Interesting, if I only drag copy the last line, avoiding the 0A completely, and
even the first character in the line, it is still pasted as a single block with
hard spaces.

If I drag copy a single space, it is either pasted as a hard space (if on the
last line) or Not pasted at all (if before a soft wrap).

Further this only happens from mail. Drag copying from this text box works fine.

From the menu Tools.Customize.Toolbars.Standard
Add Application.RecentDocuments

Adding Recent Documents to the toolbar, and giving it an icon to make a shortcut
to Clicking on File, and navigating the mouse thru the narrow corridor to bring
up Recent document list.

But clicking on the resulting icon Does Not bring up any dialog box, or (more
preferably) a drop box (like clicking on the down-arrow next to New).

Is the .cvs comment directed to me?
I have now downloaded v1.9.100 (680_m100) and there is no change.

Upon further reflection, the column widths are present, but it is the row height
that is zero on the left, and nothing showing in the middle.

I tried several things, and verified all RPM tarballs are installed, and can not
get it to work for me.

I'm stumped, but can not agree with closing it.

Is it requesting any different font to display in the preview?

This issue seems to be a duplicate of a problem I'm experiencing:

Using Mozilla 1.7.6 and Soffice 1.9.91

When I drag to copy from mozilla, it pastes fine in soffice IF I am only copying
text or IMGwith text. It even sets the font correctly.
BUT When copying the end of a line in a table, it freezes up soffice.

To duplicate, load an ebay page. To the right of the description is the item#.
Carefully position the mouse to capture the item#. At the end of the line,
accidentally get too much so that a dash shows.
Go to soffice, and middle click in a spreadsheet.

When looking at the source selection in mozilla, I see a common tag to my
testing, /TDTD

After killing soffice several times, I now find it can eventually come
back...for those willing to wait.

I suppose this question is slightly outside the scope of the bug/issue, but I
was wondering. Sometimes it seems the light bulb keeps appearing, even if I have
'been here before', and sometimes the light bulb only shows once. One Time.
Other apps have a checkbox [] Do not show this help again.
Does that make sense?

Since you said 'it' is still set to NEW, but didn't show the light bulb... I was
wondering what configuration file that can be, or is set in.

2nd question, yes I downloaded the ENglish version available from
ftp://openoffice.mirrors.pair.com/developer/680_m84/
