Re: [amsat-bb] LO-78 passes
It was Lateran last night making that previous post and so I forgot to mention that the best and most current TLEs for Lituanicasat-1 are through Celestrak's Cubesat list. It doesn't appear on the Amateur list there at all (Don't understand why that is) and WA5QGD's distribution is 10 minutes early. Update your TLEs daily for this one K8YSE AA5PK and myself were only ones on this pass at 1230Z. Tom. N5HYP -- Sent from my Android phone with K-9 Mail. Re: [amsat-bb] LO-78 passes.
In my email of last evening about LO-78 I failed to mention one important thing relating to it. Where to find the best TLEs. The only place LituanicaSat-1, LO-78 showsup is in the Celestrak Cubesats listing. It has never shown up in the Amateur listing that they publish. WA5QGD's Keps distribution does have it as LO-78 but since he only updates once a week, and since the orbit is decaying rapidly, even two day old TLE's will be off. This morning on the 1220Z ish pass for me only heard K8YSE and AA5PK. I will listen on the 0422z pass for me on this 7-27 and see if it is on but I bet it is not. Re: [amsat-bb] LO-78 Decay Date
Paul, The JSpOC has mixed up the IDs of the satellites that were launched from the ISS on February 28. Although we all know that LITUANICASAT 1 is object 39569, 1998-067EN, it is now indicated as 39571, 1998-067EQ. This object 39571, ARDUSAT 2, is expected to decay on July 2. But OSCAR 78 will probably decay in August. 73, Nico PA0DLO On 2014-06-30 17:20, Paul Stoetzer wrote: I noticed that AMSAT-UK and the ARRL have both published posts that state that LO-78 will decay by the end of this week.
