[arr] Cant upload thirudha thirudha BGMs in files

I have some of them with mebut i cant upload them.does anyone 
knows whats the problem?When the upload is reaching its end, i get 
an error message or white screenTried with 3 different browsers 
and all couldnt work...using wireless and i turned off the firewall 
too..still no use...pls help

In Dubai, it was available in Music Land, which I believe is in Bur Dubai, 
the bazaar area. I'll try to get the details from my friend who always gets 
his ARR CD from there. In Abu Dhabi it is available in Victory Video, which 
is inside the Bhima Jewellery shop (for some reason!) on Hamdan Street, next 
to UAE Exchange.

Interestingly enough, the moment the owner of Victory Video sees me or my 
wife enter the shop, he shouts from the counter "No new ARR releases"!! We 
constantly bug him after every ARR release!! :-)

I am not sure if there are people like me around but
this information for fans in Singapore who are
awaiting the release of Bose. It is expected to hit
the shops on Monday (at least that's what the chap in
Mustaffa says). However, there is no confirmation on
that.  Let's just keep our fingers crossed.

Have u heard about Anteras Auto tune.. it is used for the pitch correction for voice and instruments and is a Direct x plugin i saw it the other day while recording in a studio.i tried to get it over the net but it is very costly . it is what Boss uses in all his vocal tracks sung by him espessially ye jo des hai terasome people migh get emotional and argue but u being a technical guy can notice the exact pitching and the inflections ( very light but  certainly indicative in the song )(just like Cher in Believe ) and many other places generally for udit narayan . although much more subtly than what other peple  do.
Try to get info on how and where to DOWNLOAD Auto Tune...

The Mumbai theme music is a collabaration between ARR and Talvin Singh... For the real lame heads... Talvin Singh is a Music Arranger and Tabla Player from UK... Have a look at Talvin's Album "Anokha Soundz of the Asian Underground " ..This particular album has the Mumbai theme and it specifically acknowledges ARR Talvin regularly works with ARR on many projects we have heard...

was told by the french guys that bombay theam is very
famous in france.. and its been used for several ADs
here.

[arr] A.R. Rahman - Film Director?

[Ajit]

Just a thought.  Vishaal Bharadwaj, another MD who I strongly admire, 
is also a film director.  In fact, he directed and music directed the 
movie Maqbool.  I wonder if Rahman will ever take a chance in trying 
his hand at film directing?  Personally, I feel that he is a person of 
great depth and substance and has lived life to his greatest 
potential, and has yet to achieve and explore more.  Through his 
interviews, one gets a sense of his philosophical bent, heavily 
influenced by Sufiism. I believe that he would have some great ideas 
for film content and may find directing a well made film to be a 
personally fulfilling endeavor.  Right now, he has his plate full 
already with so many music projects lined up.  But, what about the 
future?  Any thoughts?

Hi,
 This ad is for a mineral water called Volvic which
stars Zinedin Zidane. 
Just compare the facts.
Bombay was released in 1995. And I don't think Zinedin
Zidane was famous enough to act in a TV Commercial at
that time. He shot to fame only in the 1998 World Cup.
So it's clear that this ad has been picturised post
1998 after he became famous. 
Also going by the looks of Zidane in this ad it is
very clear that it's in no way picturised before 1995
(Nobody wants look older ha ha ha...)and ARR must have
given music for Bombay in 1994. All this supplements
the fact that it was ARR's BOMBAY THEME reused for the
ad. 
i do have the video of this ad in real video format.
if u want i can send it to u.

Also I remember reading somewhere about this ad using
ARR's Bombay Theme.

And the total no. of songs has reached 991. (Includes

Guys, ARR is reaching 1000 filmsongs. Time to
celebrate. 

And soon we will have 1000 different ways of
happiness.

used in Sona Nahin from 12Ka4.  Althought the tune is
different from that of Sona Nahin...

promised to get back to me as soon as the Audio is available! Where 
did you get it from? anyway, for now I have BOSE CD. Good to know for

Jagdeep,

There are bunch of softsynths... A very good one that u can have for
free is Crystal (greenoak.com). Its like a poor man's version of
Absynth. It supports Substractive synthesis and FM synthesis. But u
have it use it as a VST plug in only, no stand-alone, so u shud have
some VST host. 

U can get Absynth demo version for free, which is fully operational,
but it has a 30 day limit on it. Absynth will work as a stand alone
version too.

if u go to KVRaudio.com, u can find bunch of softsynths, for free or
demo versions.

Meanwhile, I figured out a way to get that stuttering/chopping effect
(eg. Dol Dol femal voice) in Cubase, just select a midi gate as an
insert effect for the audio track and direct a midi track to that midi
gate.Now u can use that midi track and play it in real time or program
it to control the audio u want to chop. Pretty simple once u know it
:-). Prolly u can do it any other software like Cubase.

Looks like my feeling about Water sounding more Bengalu is accurate too! : ) Isn't that amazing that you can feel the pureness of water in anybody's music!

Meanwhile, another split in India is between north and south, with 
northern Indians featuring much more prominently in magazines than 
southerners. 

"It's not a conscious divide," Ms Sinha says. "There are certain 
people who are already established who are already interesting to 
readers. These stars are often from the north." 
 
India's southern states, like Tamil Nadu, are often overlooked 

The one notable exception is composer AR Rahman - described as the 
Indian Mozart by Andrew Lloyd Webber - whose music and appeal manages 
to cross India's many divides. 

Rahman has sold over 70m records worldwide, and for 13 years has 
written soundtracks for Bollywood films, including the Oscar-
nominated Lagaan. 

But there was a time when Indian music was not so hip. 

"I want people to feel cool to buy my music," Rahman says. 

"They should go to the shelf and their first priority should be 
Indian music... Indian music has its very cool incarnations - mixing 
traditional singing with hip hop or funk for example." 

But Rahman is now seeking a return to a more Indo-centric sound. 

"Modern music's gone way beyond comprehension now," he says. 

"I think now it needs to go back, reverse. You want to go back to 
listening to some good melodies and some basics." 

Shobhaa De shares Rahman's cultural concerns. 

"Parents have to define and redefine what's right," she says. "I hang 
on fiercely to what is best of our culture, our clothes, our 
festivals. 

"One must be able to communicate what is worth taking from America 
[but] being proud of our culture is great - our generation has failed 
to pass that on to the younger folks."

India's hockey players are among its new celebrity stars 
In the grounds of a Catholic school in Mumbai (Bombay) early one 
morning, two women are coaxing a beautiful young sports star to strip 
to his waist. 

But it is all in good taste. The two women in question work for 
India's English-language celebrity title, Society magazine, and the 
young man in question is hockey star, Vireen Raskina. 

In India, hockey is the new cricket. Or at least, Society is hoping 
it will be - once it has shot its players in a sexy and attractive 
way. 

The softly-spoken Vireen is quite happy to bare his torso. "We are 
helping make hockey more popular," he says. 

"It is cricket that is currently the popular sport. We need to create 
stars to encourage the sport." 

Sexual liberalisation 

Society is the current market leader in celebrity magazines, with a 
circulation of 100,000. 

But a magazine that purports to represent Indian high society and 
success is not an easy thing to pull off, especially if it is in 
English.

According to Shobhaa De, ex-model, author, TV presenter and founding 
editor of Society, it appeals to the "metros" or city dwellers. 

And these metros are undergoing a bit of a transformation. 

India's new affluence has led to an explosion in celebrity culture. 

"The past decade has seen an unprecedented rise in the number of 
socialites, veejays, models and hoteliers," says Society's editor, 
Priyanka Sinha. 

"Somewhere we've been bitten by the materialist bug," Ms Sinha 
says. "So Society looks at the new celebrities who are emerging from 
the social churning that's arisen since India's economic 
liberalisation." 

With economic liberalisation has come a degree of sexual 
liberalisation. 

Society's pages show evidence of a racier side to Indian culture - 
although not as much as some TV channels. 

"Something we've written about is 'item girls' - backing dancers - 
they are the newer trend," Ms Sinha says. 

"Item girls do some raunchy numbers, gyrating and pole-dancing, and 
wear teeny-weeny clothes. 

"It's important to acknowledge and draw attention to these changes. 
But we are a family magazine and Indian sensibilities are delicate. 
India is a bundle of contradictions." 

Caucasoid pretensions 

Society wants to present the face of a global India at ease with 
modern mores and values. 


 
AR Rahman fears a loss of India's traditional music 

But Shobhaa De, who has been accused of being too liberal in the 
past, argues that this is leading to India becoming too Westernised. 

"Urban India is getting far too influenced by American series like 
Sex and the City," she says. 

"It's at odds with contemporary India. Modern India must come up with 
its own sexual conduct." 

Gerry Pinto, another glossy magazine editor, believes there are too 
many "Caucasoid pretensions" among Indians, with fair skin highly 
prized. 

"Indians always align themselves with the middle class and with 
whites," he says.

I dont think so! Even on the casette cover, this song is not marked with a dot meaning that it is an original compostion and not from any previous sound trackand if u listen carefully, u wont find any similarity between them at all... I guess other group members agree with me

Hii guyz

   This is a small article who wonder what is
synthesizer. U wud hav heard people relating it to
rahman. This is just a small introduction, if i had
made any mistake pls forgive. 

 A synthesizer is an electronic musical instrument.
The difference between electronic instruments and
acoustic instruments can be illustrated with a few
examples: a flute creates its sound by setting a pipe
of air into resonation; a violin makes a sound as the
player "bows" a string into self-oscillation, which is
then transferred and amplified by a specially crafted
wooden "case". Acoustic instruments are all mechanical
- something must be moving or resonating for sounds to
be created.

Synthesizers are different: they don't create direct
sounds, but only electric signals. Without
loudspeakers or headphones attached to the
synthesizer, it will not be able to make anything even
remotely audible - well at least nothing apart from
the clicking of the keys. This is really not very far
from how your CD-player works: it doesn't make direct
sounds either, only electric signals that are turned
into sounds by your stereo speakers or your
headphones.

Synthesizers are usually equipped with a piano style
keyboard. Each key of the keyboard is actually a
switch by which the user can switch electronic
circuits on and off. Keyboards are by far the most
popular input devices, but the user can also choose to
use mouthpieces, strings, guitar-like devices, drum
pads or a computer to control the synthesizer.

Synthesizers are extremely versatile instruments. They
can be made to imitate any other instrument - from
reed instruments to drums. But the true power of the
synthesizer is its possibility to create completely
new, yet unheard sounds - even if not all of these
sounds are useful for musical purposes.

After his controversial debut as an actor in New, S J Suryah began his next movie titled BF (Best Friend). With the protest from Tamil Protection Movement led by PMK leader Ramadoss and Dalit Panthers of India leader Thol Thirumavalavan to change the title, Suryah after three months of its launch had changed the name from BF to Ah Aah, the first two letters in the Tamil Alphabet.When contacted Suryah said, “I won’t say it was because of the pressure from Tamil Protection Movement. Basically I do not want to hurt anyone’s feeling. They wanted me to change the title in Tamil. I also felt that there is nothing wrong in their demand. Hence I left it with the audience. I had made a request to the Tamil audience through a vernacular magazine to suggest a suitable alternative name for BF in Tamil. The response was amazing. Out of 97,136 entries, 210 people had opted for the title Ah Aah,
 which are the first two letters in the Tamil Alphabet
