guys...never mind abhijeet is kidding. may be he is drunk or he is running out of his packet money.so just wanna get some publicity. but i wud have suggested him to pull rickshaws in kolkata instead of getting money by giving interviews to filmfare (that's what filmfare do) who the hell is he first to comment abt our boss ? since our boss gives frequent chances to Udit Narayan, Kumar sanu and this chap is totally fed up. why the hell our boss will give chance to guy who (try to) imitates kishore (and miserably fails...nowadays showing up in albums with fancy dress and bikni girls) ? why the hell boss will give chance to kumar sanu who sings with his nose ? Very disappointed in Abhijeet's comments here. I love the guy's voice so much, but not impressed at all by his attitude. Must feel ignored by the fact that he hasn't had many chances to work for Boss. I can understand that, but he should probably understand that Boss rarely writes music for the kind of movies he is known to excel in - romantic comedies (Yes Boss, Chalte Chalte etc). To his credit, I must say, he did ace 'Ae Azneen Suno Na' (from Dil Hi Dil Mein) though. This isn't the first time that A.R.Rahman has gone into a historical bio-pic. He composed some truly gritty songs for Rajkumar Santoshi's The Legend of Bhagat SIngh. Now, to celebrate the life of the uncelebrated hero, Subhas Chandra Bose, Rahman gets together with Javed Akhtar (with whom Rahman earlier did outstanding scores in Lagaan, Zubeidaa and Bhagat Singh) to create a symphony of nostalgic sounds. The most remarkable achievement in Bose is that the sounds, though steeped in the ethos of a specific historical chapter, are no slave to any era. Unfettered, the tunes fly into a range of untried emotions harnessed by the vision of a composer who has always striven to rise above situational creations. The composer catches SOnu Nigam in an exhilarating mood in Desh Ki Mitti. You can almost hear the ache and pain of the homesick statesman in every word of the song. Another gem, hopefuflly not born to blush unsung, is Ghoomparani, Sapna Mukherjee, who never found her melodic metier comes into her own in this sweet and tender lullaby tinged with a Bangla flavour. Its' reminiscent of Door Kahin Ek Aam Ka Bagiya from Zubeidaa. He has a knack of extracting the most precious juices of remembrances from an era gone by. The Soundtrack of Bose isn't as exceptional as the ones Rahman has done earlier in this genre. But it's filled with feelings that are often inexpressible without the support of music. Hello, Well, first of all, ARR won't compose songs unless its 100% Professional. His art cannot be sold. Even If "I" go to him and offer him a million dollars for composing a song just for me, he won't do it. Its a different case if he personally wants to entertain or salute some one with his music to a close friend/relative. And that song/album won't be noticed by the media because its a personal tribute which is not meant to be sold in market. But as far as a fan is concerned, he won't do it unless its for a Movie/Commercial. Please dont take any offense, since I am not addressing you directly. I admire the fact that Rahman can turn non entities into singers. I used to like Rahman's compositions at one point of time. But not any more. I think he's lost his touch. Rahman has become repetitive and is resting on his laurels. He is not creating any melodies in his compositions. In the last two years everything he has composed has flopped, yet some know-alls still consider him the best. I think Mumbai's music directors are far far more talented than Rahman. hey friends, i just listened 2 the "BnB" NO. frm "bnb" yesterday. it was a nice rap no. but it was too rahmanish. isn' there any other kind of rap in the world. in bet.25-35 secs, the tune that is played is very similar to the BGM in bombay ( the scene where manisha is goin in the bus along with her friend and the hero is waiting for her with an umbrella)( there is even a vocal to the same tune sung by shankar himself with kavita ). and if u listen to th "bnb", 2.49 mins onwards, the dholak that is used is the very same used in the vocals sung by the aforesaid singers in bombay( when manisha comes to take some books frm the hero's sister). this is really pathetic!! actually, many of our composers listen to world music, but they fear to mix them with indian ragas & other tunes. only when our boss does that,& it's a hit, they run like rats 2 copy the same. hey friends, we were all discussing abt swades being the top most contention of winning the national award(music) this year. but, now i think , bose-the forgotten hero has also joined the race.i say, it becoz, last yr meenaxi was released around april-may'04 & it was taken in last yr's (2003)list. so, i feel there is every chance of bose being also considered for 2004-05 awards. but,i'm supporting swades.reason- being a masterpiece in itself, this has been the most neglected music of the yr, even than the movie. the popular awards except FILMFARE hasn't even nominated it. i was hoping it 2 get a nomination at the IIFA. but 2 days back, here only, frm another grp member, i heard that it was even not nominated there also. my heart is really abt 2 break. it's fate now depends wholly on the national awards. i also feel sorry for LAKSHYA(both movie & music). it was S-E-L's best this yr, far better than K?HGN & PM. it would have atleast fetched a nomination. well, let's wish SWADES ALL THE BEST!!1 ARDHENDU,GHY,ASSAM. hey friends, i once came across an article in the news paper "THE TELEGRAPH", abt madhusree.a list of her film songs were given. the first song that i could identify chronologically was the "sadiyan" no. frm lakeer(with our boss).but i think the song " boondo se baatein" has been also sung by her. it was by some sujata. we all know that the original name of madhusree is sujata bhattacharya. she changed her name on the advice of our boss, since there was so many sujata's known to him. i also heard abt sujata trivedi & sujata mohan.i think they sang the song "ishwar allah" frm 1947earth. also, i had confusion regarding the male voice of the song "har taraf" frm saaya. it is written kk, but i think it's been sung by kunal. and the last, in RHTDM, the short title version " kaise me kahu tujse" has been sung by kk(as per inlay cards).but, it seems very much sonu nigam. plz.clarify it!! ardhendu,ghy,assam Yahoo! Okay another thing is that, I think the print should not be with a rubber stuff, which every onr does. I heard it goes off after a couple of washes. So please suggest us some print work that will not get lost even after washing. And the Desighers, Front Portion: I think you can add the attached picture at the front of the T-Shirt with a quote " The Man. The Music. The Magic. Back Portion:: Unity of Lights Snap (outline) with the quote "Search is more important than destination". I think collared one will suit all of us at any point of time.
