Dear Bhargav I am from Pune, Maharashtra ( can call you as my neighbour )and like you I too do not understand the great languages of TAMIL / TELGU, but being a diehard fan of ARR music, I have literally ALL, and I mean ALL songs ever recorded by him in ALL languages, well almost all of them ( I admit, I do not have ROJA in marathi and Deen Isai Malai, ARR's first devotional album in Tamil, ANYONE HELPING PLEASE ? ) The trick is that I visit Chennai / Vizag regularly, and I go to the main music stores there and ask the counter to dish out cds / cassettes of our BOSS and thus, I make my collection. Thanks to the recent spurt in the BGMs, Counting these, I have almost 1300 songs collection of the BOSS ! So brother, go to Chennai, go to Vizag and quench your thirst ! May the boss be with you !!! This topic seems be a never ending debate. I agree with dinesh and many like him that for the past few yrs ARR has not been his usual dominating position like he used to be before. This as we know due to his commitment to LOTR and etc. Also ARR's venture into period films though was a highly remarkable effort, wasn't vry successful with the masses. Sadly the films too did not do as well as expected. His tamil releases have not helped either. Despite having superhit scores in films like Boys, E20U18, KKS, AE, New and Ah Aah,.. it did not bring him any awards due to either negative media publicity or the films below par performance at the b-o. Added to this a host of young and new MD's have taken over the music scene in hindi and tamil and becoming a rage with the masses everywhere with their so called "hit" music. Is it a sign of the times or sheer bad luck, i would not know but ARR will almost certainly bounce back with style like he always does. On the other hand i disagree with dinesh and others who think that ARR is wasting his time on concerts. Fans all over the world wants to see him perform live and its definetely an honour for ARR to perform for his legions of fans who have supported him throughout his career. Gopal, I remember listening to the music some where way back.. now I remember as I had the Jeans cassette.. my question is.. isn't the song Thom Karuvil Irunthom is done with the music of Ni Sa Re Sa from Jeans... Because I remember just listening to the music... then when I heard it with words in Star.. I was amaze my the lyrics... then I realised how tough it is to put lyrics into a music. No, its not... Dheem Ta Dare has a Hindustani classical mixed with folk flavour while Ni Sa Re Sa has a pop ballad flavour. Thom Karuvil Irunthom put words to Dheem Ta Dare. To my knowledge, Ni Sa Re Sa did not morph into another song.
