[arr] Sir ARR on chanel V

hi guys,
   I saw Sir ARR, Prasoon Joshi, Rakeysh Mehra being interviewed 
about RDB' music on Chanel V on a prog i think clled Boly V.They 
talked about each song and how they happened. Sir ARR said "Khalbali" 
was recorded in London(if i'm correct)in some different language, 
Rakeysh Mehra said that they needed a hindi song, so Prasoon Joshi 
came up with hindi lyrics. The lyrics of the title track, "thodi si 
dhool meri", was written by Prasoon Joshi after he'd tea right 
after he woke in a morning. He faxed the lyrics too Sir ARR, and Sir 
ARR came up with tune, and that evening every1 was humming the tune!! 
there r many other things, though i can't remember clearly :-(. Any1 
elses seen it?

In fact this is the 1st song where ARR has sung a full-length song with 
a female PlayBack Singer.. I suppose he must have been really inspired 
by the situation of the song & his own memories of his mother when he 
is away from home..!!!
Amazing song...fantastic..
Time and again he brings up this brilliant Swaras at the end of songs...
Kudos to our Boss.

The cast and crew of RDB was on NDTV 24/7 from 
10:00 pm to 10:30 PM. The movie appears very interesting. Watch out for 
the audience reaction to "Roobaru". In fact I am eagerly waiting for 
the audience's reaction in the theatre. Guys pls post ur exp of watching RDB in 
theatres.

Actually I am not sure how many of you have noticed this.
In several songs, Rahman has used very very strange sounds
in an inaudibly low volumes.
Everytime i discovered those sounds, I was just thrilled as if 
finding a treasure.
I can give you a few instances..Initially i thought its a mental 
illusion ! But its NOT. ARR is giving Reward for exploring his music.
here are  a few..
Pls let me know if anyone of you also noticed these..

1) maa tuje salaam - the difference between the Hindi & Tamil version.
The Tamil Version has got lots of additional sounds.
2) in Dil Se Re, before the end of the song, some very low volume 
flute sounds.
3) in HaiRabba song from Jeans..

Vandemataram was ARR's album released under SONY. But its ARR & ARR alone. however 2 songs had Nusrat fateh Ali Khan & Anuradha Sriram as singers in lead.Jana Gana Mana is once again an album from ARR but it has only Jana Mana Gana in different varieties and there are many top brass artists for Instruments & singers as well. This was released under Times Music. If lucky you will also get a video CD along.
Both the albums are different and each have unique songs from other. So you will gain a lot if you have both these albums.On 1/18/06, mmparthi2003

Yup this a lot of funI got some of them     + Hiccups in "Koku Saiva Koku" from Muthu   + Birds tweeting in the opening of "Kuluvalilay" from Muthu  + Faint wind howling in the opening "Kaatre" song from Rhythm...  + Water sounds in the opening "Kaatre" song from Rhythm...also in Karuthamma  + Obviously how can one forget the train sounds which were immortalized in "Chaiyya Chaiyya" from Dil se  + Crow croaks at the start of "Pettai rap" from Kadhalan     You know when I go through this list, it seems that there is this small kid inside Rehman who is always trying to freak out and break away from traditions. This has been discussed MUCH earlier in some other thread. I am just 
going to give few more details from it. Nothing new about it..!

1. Typewriter sound - Kaathalan - "Mukkaala Mukkabula" song.

2. Cellphone ring sound - Kaathal Virus - "Hey Hey Enna Aachu" song.

3. Water droplet sound - May Maadham - "Yen mel vizhuntha" song.

4. Water splash sound - Meenaxi - "Yeh Rishtaa" song.

5. Glass break effect - Baba - "Baba Kichu Kichu" song. In the Re-
recording, some Knife sound effects were used in a really cool way.

6. Glass break effect - Yuva/AE - "Jana Gana Mana" song.

7. Bell sound - Baba - The opening prayer song. The chorus part of 
this song is believed to be a rip-off from another song.

8. Bird sounds - Kisna - "Hum hain iss pal" song. There are many 
more like "May Maadham - Margazhi Poovey" also...

I am sure this will only increase.

It says that Rahman likes to work for the situations in the song 
giving importance to Macro arrangements and thus enhancing the 
quality of the song.

Are you sure there are actual train sounds in Chaiyya Chaiyya?  I
always thought the train-esque sounds were done with drums or other
instruments.

Excited, she plans a film on the Indian revolutionaries mentioned in the diaries.She flies down to Delhi and casts a group of five young boys to play the pivotal roles of these revolutionaries.The five youngsters initially refuse to be part of the project because they don't identify with the characters from the past. They would rather party than be patriots.In the film, the 1930s British India and the India of today run parallel and intersect with each other at crucial points. As the film reaches its resolution, the line between past and present blurs, and they become one in spirit. A.R Rahman's music, which is selling like hot cakes, adds fervour to the drama.Director Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra, whose directorial debut "Aks" starring Amitabh Bachchan and Manoj Bajpai bombed miserably, has pinned all his hopes on "Rang De Basanti".Siddharth, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kunal, Soha Ali Khan, Alice Patten, Waheeda Rehman, Atul Kulkarni and Om Puri will be seen in pivotal roles in the film.The star undoubtedly is Aamir, sporting another new look - curly hair and trendy clothes, somewhat similar to his gelled, goatee appearance in his last 'urban' film "Dil Chahta Hai"."Rang De Basanti" was set to release last week, but found itself in troubled waters when the Indian Air Force (IAF) objected to a computer-generated shot showing a MiG 21 crashing. It took a special screening for Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee and the three service chiefs to finally clear the film.While the IAF cleared it without a fuss, the Animal Welfare Board also objected and didn't budge till the producer edited out 20 seconds of the film showing Aamir riding a horse.Regards,Shah Navas
