Hi Sullu and Bar yar.

Im hoping the same kind of album from Rahman anna and willing to request
directly to Rahman anna. but u post it in the group my fren, its the easiest
way to reach him. i was thinkin bout it, but i delayed it. it doesnt matter who
posted it, but its already on the track. lets start the race buddy. hey!! dont
hope that Rahman anna managed to do that kind or international album. I'm sure
my bro Rahman anna can do it. he is the Mozart of india, who is makes we proud
of INDIA. guy if this kind of album has been launched and succeed, all of us r
going to be the happiest living creature in the world.

i would like to add some songs in SULLU's expectation for the Future Album.

** a Latino song, that can let the world shake their hips. let the market of
hips dont lie lays down to salute Rahman anna.

** A full Rap song (the latst trend) featuring the black guys, who is the
king af Rappers. lets create another Tupac Shakur. and let Eminem chase Rahman
anna to get an oppurtunity.

** u know that there is a very little amount of songs for mother in the
international albums. Rahman anna, create a song for all of the mothers in the
world. make them melt with ur songs. makesure they stick with ur musics, such
as us.

**then bout the indian classical song of SULLU. i think it will be better if
it is been done it in two different versions :
-- 1st: a mix of Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu and other INDIAN languages.
-- 2nd: A full english song in the classical indian style.

**we know that Vande mataram hs blow patriotism to the indian hearts. kets
attack the others heart Rahman anna. make a patrioric song which refer to the
worlds peace. im sure ur song can give a break to the violent ppls.

**find some real vocalist. maybe you can feature some other artist, JUST FOR
THEIR VOCAL. the music, the composition, the raaga, everything is from Rahman.
just rent their vocal talents.

there is some other expectation from this humble fan of you, Rahman anna.
this is my imagination after the succeed of the Future album. guys if u saw
any of Rahman anna's interview or in live concerts or awards. he always thank
GOD, his mother and his Technician foor the great achievements. i would be
honoured if Rahman anna say that

This album is inspired by my fans from Yahoo groups, this is their idea. i
would like to thank all of them for their support and inspiration for this
album. this album came out from their expectation

OMG...will my dream come true?if tis happens Gops u will be very proud of ur
group here.
i didnt suspect Rahmans ability to do this kind of album. but i wonder if
Rahman anna have time 4 this. you knnow that he is a very busy person. Behalf
of that, to complete this kind of album it needs a lot of time and contribution.

Guys lets urge Rahman anna to make a move for this kind of album. anyone from
this group pass this idea (our expectation) to him. lets finish our discussion
here, im sure there is a lot of fresh ideas out there.after finish our
discusion, gather it then send it to Rahman anna. but we have to make sure
Rahman anna read this on his own. hope he will.

guys lets keep our hands crossed, hoping that Rahman anna will do this kind
of album.

Hi All,

This mail comes as a request to Mr.A R Rahman ..the Musical Genius..n
the Great human personality ...

I am happy and proud that your music is reaching through many ears
around the world...
But what I,even most of your fans expect from you is an International
Album...not an Indian album like Vandematharam. .
An International album that should be heard by almost all ears around
the worldby
asians...english ..africans.. .americans. ..arabians. ..simply by
everyone in the world.
I describe what i am expecting and feeling to hear from the

A complete western songwhich should turn the western countries to

One pure Arabic songthat should make all the sheiks should shake

and apart from tht ...one classical indian song...which should convey

My favourite song is Tere Bina.

Tere Bina has great lyrics with magical voice of ARR coupled with that of new
comer Chinmayee's. Also the soothing music takes u completly to a new world.

The alaap in between the song also is very catchy. A similar alaap which ARR
had last sung in lukka Chuppi in RDB.

The over all album is GR8!!! But this is one song that I can't resist listening
to again again again . again.

How true !

Time and time again, atleast one song in his album brings
forward that feeling. Take Swades - Yeh jo desh hai tera / Or
Netaji - Mere Desh ki mitti ki and Aazadi / Indira - Thota Thota /
Duet - En Kaadhale, Dilse - Tu Hi re.so many, I do not want
to go on and on.

In GURU, Rahman probably re-lives some of his earlier days in TERE
BINA. A son who has achieved success after hard work, must be missing
his father from whom he has received the legacy of music. Some of the
places in this song make me feel that in this part of life Rahman is
missing his father more than anything else. He feels that his father
should have been around to see his present success.

Maa Tujhe Salaam was for his mother ( Rahman said so in the a/m

No Man's Land (Guru Music Review: Part III)
Recently, A.R. Rahman (ARR) has started singing significant portions of his
compositions. I am clueless as to why this is happening. Hypothetically, Tere
Bin would have been an above-average song if (and that's a big if) ARR would
not have attempted to sing it. It is a melodious folk tune, requiring very
special vocal talents. Probably Sonu Nigam or Hariharan would have taken the
song to new heights. I will give you a specific example. Listen to the first
interlude, when ARR sings swaras. My ears could not stand such a casual singing
of notes. A singer with a lot of talent wouldhave to sweat to sing those
swaras. Knowing that, what prompted ARR to sing it? Overall, the song has a
folkish feel. There is nothing new or surprising in the song to write
about..

Minmini sung two song in Manitha Manitha, one of the best song from

Hi guys ,

I was listening to RDB BGM I observed very closely the BGM when the Boys
enter the radio station.
Wat I observed was that the tune was totally different from that of DHAM DHARA
DHAM. It may sound a bit similar because of the ARR alaap but the tone is
entirely different. I don't know the ABC of music but I have enough common
sense to differentiate between two tunes.

Wat do u guys think!!!

Rahman’s ‘Jaage Hain’; Guru’s delight
Faridoon Shahryar, IndiaGlitz [Saturday, December 02,
2006]

A R Rahman has done it again. His superlative brilliance in the
soundtrack of ‘Guru’ is a revelation for the music lovers.
Be it ‘Barso Re’ where Aishwarya is dancing like a dream
under the canopy of blue sky, ‘Ae Hairathe Aashiqui’ or
‘Tere Bina’ Rahman gems are a collector’s delight.
But the song that leaves you speechless has to be ‘Jaage
Hain’. For it’s not merely a song but a state of mind. A
stream of sub-consciousness that flows unabated invoking the spiritual
side of your personality that stays dormant.

Chitra starts off the proceedings in a slow sedate manner as her vocals
unleash the magic with little or no accompaniment in the background. AR
joins her in the whispering mode pleading for some sleep for he has
remained awake for most part of the night anyways. And then he shifts
gears magnificently and touches the highest contours of magnificence.
There are layers of meanings in this song. It’s about human life
where happiness is a brief episode in the general drama of pain.
‘Jaage Hain’ is one song that catapults Rahman to the
level of greatest maestros or artistes who delivered much more than mere
entertainment through their art.

Rahman magic flows like an impassioned river determined to embrace the
sea of timelessness.

   Chithirai from Vandi Cholai Chinrasu

3. P. SUSEELA
   Meettu podu from Duet;
   Kannamma from Indian;
   Azhagu from Pudhiya Mugam;

BTW Poo koodiyan from Iruvar is sung by Sandhya.

4. RINA BHARDWAJ
   Baba kichu kichu from Baba;
   Main vaari vaari from Mangal Pandey;
   Aaha thamizhamma from Kangalal Kaithu Sai;
   Yeh rishta from Meenaxi

5. ABHIJEET (Not Abhishek!!!)
(I simply hate this guy after reading whatever he
said in the Filmfare magazine last year about ARR...)
   Ae naazneen suno na from Dil Hi Dil Me;
   Chidiya tu hoti to from Nayak;
   Teri meri baat from Sapney

II. I am not sure whether Bhattacharya (one who sang
Jack n Jill) and Surjo Bhattacharya (one who sang
Dhim da dare from Thakshak) is the same person or
not. If both are same then he has sung couple of
songs. But I guess both are same person.

III. Kumar Sanu has sung only one song for ARR and
that is Mil gayi from Kabhi Na Kabhi. Hindi version
of Mel isaiaye from Mr. Romeo is sung by SPB.

IV. Naramugaye from Iruvar is sung by Bombay
Jayashree only and it’s her only song for ARR. It’s
not by Nithyashree.

V. I guess Sunidhi Chauhan has sung two songs for ARR.
one is Saiyyaan from Nayak and other one is Tham
gaya toofan from One Two Ka Four. Experts please
clarify.

So as far as my knowledge of ARR’s songs is concerned,
list can be modified as:

Alisha Chinai (“Jumbalika” - Thakshak)
Apache Indian (“No problem” – Love Birds – Both Hindi
and Tamil)
Arjun (“Chittukuruvi” - Parasuram)

The CD cover credits Ranjit Barot for additional programming for the track in
question. So it might be Ranjit, or even Rahman himself or probably a loop.
After all the flute piece runs just for a fleeting few seconds ,have we not
heard instruments playing in the similar pattern in many songs composed by
different composers ... more of using the instruments in the same way, how many
hollywood movies we have seen having violin movements in the same pattern.

Tabla)
5. Ay Harathi - The most Catchy tune of the album... everything in this song is
really amazing
6. Mayya - Beat, Toller's Voice
7. Jaage Hain - Rahman's voice, TUne. Choir, Arrangements. ..

[arr] Special mention about Netaji's music

2006-12-02 Thread Ajit
I just listened to the entire soundtrack of Bose once again. One
word.majestic. Such a shame that this amazing piece of art never
got recognized. The beautiful songs of Desh Ki Mitti, Ghoomparani,
Ekla Chalo, Azaadi, Zikr..absolutely mindblowing in terms of
melody, depth, richness, arrangements, variety, passion, and soul.
And the background pieces, although symphonic and hollywoodish for the
most part, just shine of extravagant melodies and breathtaking
compositional elements.

Guys, ARR put a lot of work into this soundtracklot of passion...
and it just got wasted (except for his fans). I hope that someday he
gets the recognition he deserves for this marvelous piece of art.

Bose's music is simply one of the finest soundtracks ARR has ever
composed in all honesty.

[arr] Guru revives the Rahman magic

2006-12-02 Thread Gopal Srinivasan
http://www.batchmates.com/channels/BM_Times/content.asp?CatID=15contentID=889

Guru- Revives the Rehman Magic

Mani Ratnam, A.R. Rehman and Gulzar created the stupendous musical album ‘Dil
Se’. The Trio is
back again with yet another musical treat ‘Guru’. The film starring Abhishek
Bachchan and
Aishwarya Rai is about to hit the theatres soon, but even before that, the film
is much talked
about, thanks to the magic man A. R. Rehman who is the Guru of the musical
genre himself.

Director composer A. R. Rehman already bags a number of credential awards for
his musical
contribution in films like, Bombay, Roja, Saathiya and Yuva. And to add to the
glorious record
he has Guru in the pipeline. The film is soon going to add a few more awards to
his already
overloaded bag-of-credits.

The album contains seven songs in all, out of which, the first two numbers,
‘Barso Re’ and
‘Tere Bin’, are an absolute treat to all ears. The song ‘Barso re’ is extremely
catchy and a
lively rain song, but definitely not the typical situational masala songs.
Rehman is known for
his unique style of blending the classical eastern tunes with the melodious
western beats. This
unique style of the composer is present in this album as well.

Mani and Rehman have carefully chosen the crème of the singer’s lot, to voice
the compositions
that have been written by the legendary lyricist Gulzar. Shreya Ghosal the
docile and soft girl
famous for her early success and the variety in her vocals sang the number
Barso Re adding an
extra scoop to the treat.

When Rehman hummed a few verses for Yuva’s “Kabhi Neem Neem” his fans went head
over heels.
Guys, its time you catch hold to your seats tightly, as Rehman has sung a full
song for his
Guru album. Yes you heard it right, the ‘Tere Bin’ number in the album is
Rehman’s dedication
to all his fans. And when the maestro is singing himself, you definitely expect
it to be great.

A peppy number ‘Ek Lo, Ek Muft…’ roped in Bappi Lahiri who was recently praised
for his Taxi
No. 9211 numbers like ‘Meter Down’ and ‘Bombay Nagaria’. Bappi is teamed with
Chitra in the
song for the Guru number, which is purely a situational song.

Well, the album is complete with an item number too. ‘Maaya’ probably
picturised on Mallika
Sherawat is a foot tapping, belly shaking song, but might not be liked by all
and sundry.
Hariharan and Alka Yagnik too team up for a melodious song ‘Ay Hairathe
Aashiqui'.

A Rehman album is incomplete with a number by Udit Narayan. The number ‘Baazi
Laga’ has Udit
singing for Abhishek along with Madhusree, Shweta and Bhargawee. Rehman
contributes his voice
in another song for the album in the song ‘Jaage Hain’, which is comparably a
greater musical
piece than any other number in the album.

Overall, ‘Guru’ can be rated as another hit album for the year, which has great
potential to
carry the film forward for a few extra weeks.

[arr] Re: Special mention about Netaji's music

2006-12-02 Thread dnshvaidya
I can't agree more. NETAJI music is very special for me. The struggle
of Netaji himself comes really well in all the songs and BGMs in this
movie. Almost all songs have the SAD thread, which is the treadmark of
Rahmans best songs. I have seen the movie also and I liked it very much
and in the current DHOOM and BOOM kind of songs and movies, NETAJI
certainly stands out.

My favourite song from this movie Aazadi sung by Rahman himself. +
Goomparani + Mere Desh ki mitti + Kadam Kadam + Zikr Hey, wait, I
have covered almost all songs.

Indeed it is THE finest amongst Rahmans Hindi movies.

I am looking for the DVD or VCD of this movie. Anybody knows if this is
out ?

I just listened to the entire soundtrack of Bose once again. One
word.majestic. Such a shame that this amazing piece of art never
got recognized. The beautiful songs of Desh Ki Mitti, Ghoomparani,
Ekla Chalo, Azaadi, Zikr..absolutely mindblowing in terms of
melody, depth, richness, arrangements, variety, passion, and soul.
And the background pieces, although symphonic and hollywoodish for the
most part, just shine of extravagant melodies and breathtaking
 compositional elements.
