I would like to emphasise coule of points here. 1) boxofficeindia.com or its counterpart ibosnetwork.com is not a reliable source of sales or box-office information. The so-called- sales-figures etc they put in their site are at best a casual imaginative exercise. 2) the top 5 list put in their site has been there since Nov end, just one week after Guru was out in the market. Guru is selling well all over India, as per the sales charts in different Music World/Planet M outlets all over the country. I did not read it completely. Society magazine has reported that Mukesh Ambani is trying to stop the release of Guru movie for a couple of reasons. 1. The Chaiyya-Chaiyya singer arrived in style and captured the hearts of millions of peoples and also bagged the Film Fare Award for best playback singer of 1998. That was the moment Sukhwinder was looking for and the success of 'Chaiyya-Chaiyya' paid for him and he never looked back. He got great reviews for his each and every composition by critics audiences and his songs were becoming the superhits one after another. In the chain of success recently he was awarded with a Bollywood Music Award at New Atlantic City for the title song of 'Omkara' and now he's back in style once again in a new look and a fresh album titiled 'Is Dil Se love never dies' which was released at a function held at capital's five star hotel Le Meridien, during the function we did get the opportunity to talk with him, here are some excerpts from our conversation with Sukhwinder Singh: You must be on cloud nine as you are getting so much love and affection from audiences and are able to give hits one after another... There is nothing like to be on cloud nine, it's the God's grace and love of peoples that I have reached this position. They liked the songs I have sung and make them hits, I'm very happy that I'm able to entertain them with songs of their likes. Tell us something about your latest album -My new album is 'Is Dil Se love never dies' that is released by T-Series. It has eight songs penned by Sameer and are based on romantic stories. This album is the first ever in the history of the Indian Music Industry to have eight tracks of different mood and situations. The album has got the subject on Romantic Stories. The best part of the album is the choice of original songs handpicked and compiled by me that belongs to varied genres and this is the one specialty of this album which makes it different from regular pop albums. Is there any specific reason behind the title 'Is Dil Se love never dies' or want to re-create the 'Dil Se' magic once again? Whenever I get involved in any project I always try to put 100% efforts with lots of dedication and hardwork. There is nothing like specific reason behind the title but a simple fact. The album is based on romantic stories and to generate romantic feelings one must have a heart. Without heart the feelings of love or romance can't happen because it's heart that generates these kinds of feelings or attraction for someone. A few days back you were awarded with a Bollywood Music Award on foreign soil, tell us something about that. Omkara's music was unique and fresh, keeping in mind the script we have to create music accordingly and I'm very happy that the results are far better than what we expected before creating the music of 'Omkara'. You all know about its extraordinary success, the 'title song', 'Beedi Jalaile' 'Namak Ishq ka' gets overwhelming response from the audiences. Getting this award on foreign soil is a proud feeling and I'm feeling good pleased after bagging this award. Till now you have sung lots of superhit songs but those can't make it to achieve the success of 'Chaiyya-Chaiyya' eventhough they went on to claim the superduper hit tag. What can you say about that? In our industry, music plays a vital role. Every year almost hundreds of films have been made for which we needs lakhs of songs but each and every song cannot become superduper hits. I think there should not be any comparision between the songs because every song has its own style and rhythm. If we go through the records in recent past we found that last year along with many others Himesh Reshammiya has composed almost 30-40 hits and they all went superhits but in between the song 'Kajrare-Kajrare' also happened and went on to make history in India and abroad as well though all the songs are superduperhits and still they are part of each and every party or any other occation. Like this, whether it's 'Chaiyya-Chaiyya', or 'Hai-Hai Mirchi', 'Omkara' or any other song it is not necessary that all the songs creates the same magic again and again. At the time of 'Dil Se' you and A.R. Rahman have received great reviews but after that both of you didn't work together for some time. Why? This is not true that we didn't work together after 'Dil Se'. It was Rahman's encouragement that played a bigger part in my success. There is no need to go far back recently we did work together in Oscar nominated 'Water', play written by Shekhar Kapoor and produced directed by Andrew Loyed entitled 'Bombay Dreams' Hollywood project 'Inside Man'. It's also known that one of India's greatest artists, A.R. Rahman has recently been making international waves with his penchant for composing masterful music. Finally these two facts culminate into one great event. Recently, the Academy released a list of fifty-six songs that will be competing in the 79th Annual Academy Awards under the 'Best Original Song' category. And impressively, three of Rahman's tracks are featured on the list, including Chan Chan (Water), Khalbali (Rang De Basanti), and Lukka Chuppi (Rang De Basanti). Let's hope Rahman's dedication pays off with an Oscar!

Great news indeed. Congrats to Rahman, and of course we do wish him all the best to win it! Though, I am a bit surprised at the song selection, cause I would have expected Roobaroo to be along side Lukha Chupi Chan Chan. Given the fact that its Oscars, I would place my bet on Chan Chan out of these three.
