happening?  It was launched quite some time ago.

It is difficult to create something Great;
but it can only be an Amazing work of a Genius to create something
Great & Fresh - and that is exactly what Pachai Nirame (Saathiya) song
of AlaiPayuthey (Saathiya).

For one the Structure of the song is so different..
u dont come across these kind of Unique tunes easily.
and then as mentioned earlier, every aspect of Music is Great in that
song..
TRIVIA: In one of the interviews, Rahman listed this as one of the
Toughest Pieces of Work.
He said that the song looked too slow ...and so he wanted to make it a
bit more Peppy.
So he thought hard and included the Piece where ARR himself sings
"Sakiyeee"..(in Hindi its Saathiya).
Coming to think of it, just imagine the song without that piece in it..
and then u will wonder how come he thought of fitting something like
that in this beautiful Melody.. .ARR RULES !!

Vijay in and as ATM !

The shoot of Vijay's new film Azhagiya Tamizh Magan (ATM) starts today
(24 Jan) in Chennai. But our hero is chilling out in New York with
some close friends. He will join the shoot on January 31, after he
comes back to Chennai.

The film is directed by Bharathan, long time Dharani's right hand man
and a good script writer. Balasubramaniam is the cameraman, FEFSI
Vijayan who has come in for praise from Vijay for his work in Pokkiri,
is going to be the action director. And the highlight is A.R. Rahman's
five lilting tunes.

Vijay is being paired for the first time with Shriya while Namitha
plays a cameo. ATM is going to be a different kind of movie, something
which Vijay has not done before. He plays a character that has a
negative streak in him. Says Vijay: "If you ask me who the villain in
the film is, well my character himself is "the villain". ATM otherwise
will be a typical Vijay film with all essential entertainment
ingredients."

"Swargachitra" Appachan, the one time leading Malayalam producer who
has made Friends with Vijay more than six years back is the producer
of the film. Actually Appachan was to start the film nearly two years
back, but somehow it never materialized.

Vijay has given bulk dates to Bharathan to complete the film. Since he
comes from the Dharani School of direction, he is sure to take more
than 100 days to shoot the film. As of now ATM is scheduled to release
on August 15, 2007.


there r a few details on story there. not much but little bit...
rememebr fans no matter what ar rahman always does his best.. of late
is compositions have been amazing... rangede basanti, guru, sok,
godfather... man amazing songs.. each has.. he is alwys on top... of
the music world...
soo far he has this year 07 there is sivaji and now atm

The wait has just got longer for Indian audiences who want to see Deepa Mehta's 
Water.

"The negatives of films have not arrived yet and the release of the film will 
be delayed," said
Sanjay Bhutani, business head of BR Films, which is distributing the film in 
India.

The film will be released on March 2 or March 9, instead of its earlier release 
date February
23.

The Oscars will be given away on February 25 and if Water does bag the Best 
Foreign Language
Film award, it will no doubt help its box-office prospects in India. 

"The nomination to Oscars has already helped us in the marketing of the film," 
said Bhutani.

"I am sitting with my team to chalk up a strategy on releasing Water across 
India. Obviously,
the film will not have a release like Dhoom: 2 -- or for that matter Baabul too 
-- because it
is a different kind of film. I will however want maximum number of people in 
India to watch
this film because of its great content," added Bhutani.

BR Films acquired Water's distribution rights in India long before it was 
nominated as Canada's
official entry for the Oscars.

The film, set in the 1930s, highlights the plight of widows in Varansi then. 
Starring John
Abraham, Lisa Ray and Seema Biswas, the film has been in the making for the 
last seven years.

It ran into controversy after rightwing Hindu parties objected to Mehta 
shooting the film in
Varanasi.

Mehta's earlier film Fire too had run into controversy, because it touched upon 
lesbianism.

The Uttar Pradesh government banned the shooting of Water in Varanasi in 
January 2000.

"If this film is not allowed to be shot it will be the end of democracy in 
India," Mehta told
rediff.com then. "It will show that the (UP) state government is being totally 
run by thugs,"

Deepa finally shot the film in Colombo, Sri Lanka, quietly. She also replaced 
Shabana Azmi with
Seema Biswas and Nandita Das with Lisa Ray.

Do the distributors of Water fear controversy erupting again?

"How can I predict people's behaviour?" said Bhutani. "Whatever happened was in 
past. No point
in going back."

Hi Ajit,
   
  I completely agree with u man.Pachai Nirame is the best song i have ever 
heard till date.ARR has composed many gr8 songs but this song has made me 
addicted to it.I listen to this song atleast 5-6 times daily.Each time i listen 
to it i feel dissatisfied with the number of times i hear it.I love each and 
every track of ARR but i have given a special place for this song in my 
heart.Each and every thing in this song is fantastic.The music.the singer,the 
picturisation,the lyrics,the presentation of the song etc.I usually keep on 
singing this song too.Its one of ARR's masterpiece.I m just wondering y didnt 
the song get a national award.No one can create such kind of quality music

The thing that worries me the most is that, this guy's songs become 
a hit and the song that he copied from doesnt as much. I recently 
read somewhere that these songs r played on all fm stations. I never 
hear these things with rahman's songs. Is the whole system biased?
