[arr] (Sivaji music)pls read..
I am not sure whether anyone have posted abt this but the Sahana tune not the whole tune but the first 10 or so notes is the same as the wonderful Intha Kathal bgm from Uyire..of cos with some slight variation.. The song is great and all the dumb liars who said ARR will sing this and also tat there is another song called daylight dude..Bullshit guys!! Ok now guys i am a true hardcore arr fan..Sivaji songs are great... but dont u guys think tat its thin.. meanin the layers ..i mean ARR is who he is for his soul touchin tunes(even for fast paced songs) n his multi-layered songs.. where there is so much stuffs goin on at anytime.. and of cos after 2000 his songs layerin became thin.. but the songs were great thou..i feel its due to him realisin tat why should he work so damn hard n make the songs so rich when the movie is not!! And coming to sivaji songs.. its commercial.. but its very thin.. it kinda needs the visual to help it..go even further.. The songs are no doubt going on in my head over n over.. but it kinda lacks the soul .. guys.. this is not a negative view or review..pls dont slam me or watever..Another thing i noticed is i was listenin to SOK songs over n over for 6 hrs...Same for guru songs.. but sivaji songs..i cant listen to it over n over.. i need a break n i end up listenin to Guru songs or Pachaikilli Muthcahram's UnakulNaan and Unsirpinil (both which is simple and effective) and then goin back to sivaji songs..Again the songs are great..I had the usual feeling at first like with all ARR'S songs.. but it got into me..Frankly put i am kinda putting effort to love the songs... I sincerely being truthful here.. Guys help me out someone could explain wat i am feeling here.. ARR Always Rules Kris

Athiradee tests Rahman's vocals and its unusual tune and orchestration pattern sounds interesting. Vaaji vaaji is very catchy thanks to a predictable rhythm sequence and Blaaze adds his usual mishmash in The Boss. Sahana is no doubt melodious, but a bit staid for a Rajinikant starrer, while Gomathi Sree is fantastic in Sahara! Style with its fragmented structure mixed well in a likeable package is the clincher. Vairamuthu's lyrics take a safe route, but Rahman stands his ground by giving a soundtrack that doesn't seem to immediately pander to Rajinikant's image!

[arr] SIVAJI--- RICH n COMMERCIALpackage
At last!!! I bought my ORIGINAL Sivaji audio cd. Never seen such a crowd around the audio store so far like today. After listening to the songs i just can't get any word to describe them..It s such a rich and commercial album so far by Guru ARR. Don t compare them with Muthu and Padayappa. Those films were totally different. Sivaji is a commercial movie. Shankar and Rahman created the magic in Boys and the combo again did it this time. An Indian album with international flavour. ARR rocks Balleilakka- ARR's music vs SPB's vocal. A wonderful treat for your ears. You need the best sound system for this. SPB is simply superb in this song. Best Rajini intro so far. The music arrangements are great. Great competition between SPB and ARR music. Both are the winners. HATS OFF SPB. True legends in this song. Vaaji Vaaji- Hariharan is back!!! This song is simply a slow poison. I felt in love with this song after hearing them for the 5th time. Slow and steady song. Lyrics are superb. Madhusree voice is superb. Sahana-Udit Narayanan deserve the applauses...He did a good job rendering the song. Music is again the highlight. Wonderful arrangements and simply high quality song. Athiradee- Is that ARR?? Oh my God!!! Energetic...Cool...Superb..Pick of the album..ARR's best song(I said this everytime after hearing ARR's voice). ARR is saying that I M BACK WITH A BANG 7 star for this song(out of 5) Style- Rajini's fan will b happy with this song. Great to hear Suresh Peter combining with Blaaze. Another Tamil song with international flavour. Music is awesome. The Spanish essence suit the song well. That s why Shankar is picking ARR for his movies. Sahara- Sad version of Sahana. Awesome. Love the voice of Vijay Yesudass. The Boss-Remember Baba BGM? Scene where Rajini meeting the MP. Again it is Blaaze voice. He rendered the song with all the energy. Splendid song with wonderful music arrangements. Those people who wanted to give the negative comments about Sivaji..just forget about it!!! Nobody will ever want to hear your comments..Coz...ARR is da best..Sivaji is simply stunning Ok guys..wanna continue listening the songs for the 10th time..I ll do a century by today.. Re: [arr] Provoked Audio may not release!
This is most disappointing news! I hope ARR/Jag Mundhra will pass on the music score to them for a release. Vij/Rano, Could you check with ARR to see what's happening on this regard? If ARR is looking for more scoring projects in the West (like what he's doing in Golden Age; even there it is Armstrong who is leading the project) more of his music scores need to be released. What's worrying is that Eros is looking at only the songs to be the selling-point. When will instrumental score ever be considered sellable in India? There are instances of score releases like Black, Eklavya and Sarkar but all those were big projects (with the advantage of Bachchan acting and hence more publicity). Provoked is a small film (even with Aishwarya Rai) so I can partly understand Eros' unwillingness. What about foreign music labels? Or ARR's own upcoming label? Heck, if it is so expensive why not try an internet release on Itunes or something similar? Re: [arr] TO RAHMAN SIR - (REG. MANAF CPs QUERY/WORRY)
Hi saarati To day we cant arrs albums. One example, when RDB released many people said that arr lost his touch, a big disappointment etc. Then what happened? RDB became a turning point in arrs career. I think shankar is satisfied with these tunes. Because the movie might need this type of music as like BOYS. So we have to wait for the movie release. Iam sure SIVAJI will be a trendsetter in tamil cinema. ARR didnt loss his touch. He is trying to provide diffrent kind of music to us. Can u compare the music of movies like kadhalan, indian, jeans, mudhalvan and boys (i cant complete the list). Who else can give such type of music without arr? So dont worry... be happy. Thanks --- arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: This reply m putting for member manafcp's subject : Re: [arr] Comparing with MUTHU,PADAYAPPA,BABA, Do u think that SIVAJI music is better than these 3 Rajni movies?? To rahman sir Today i listened to all 7 trax of sivaji have pre-ordered my CD. Good. And my surprise sticks to how shankar is satisfied with these tracks when thinking of his previous films with rahman ? Why that extra mile is lacking in todays rahman songs ? thats not meant to negative. Or shankar could choose only these sounds as best songs from the choice offered by rahman ? But having heard past works of rahman a decade ago we could not resist ourselves from questioning or expecting more or atleast upto that mark of 90s 2ks music period of arr. Only reason that could be counted is at his present situation..., his concentration is divided globally that he has to give sounds to bollywood, then some international project comes his way where he is forced to accustom to that kind of music to satisfy those westerners. Naturally his level of work shrinks to regional level to say he convinces local technicians upto this as he has to look more in other national / international level projects. Result at the cost of local fans taste expectation he is thriving in other areas. Time has come certainly he has to think to satisfy region-wise people with brand new sounds as he does only few films in tamil. HE SHOULD NOT CANNOT DISAPPOINT TAMIL FANS HERE ANYMORE CITING REASONS AS IT IS ALL DIRECTORS / PRODUCERS TO PULL MUSIC FROM HIM. RAHMAN SIR SORRY TO SAY YOU HAVE BECOME AN OUTRIGHT BUSINESSMAN UPTO TAMIL IN SOUNDS. BCOZ OF NOT UPTO TO YOUR WORDS OF MUSIC IS YOUR PASSION FROM YOUR SOUNDS HERE THESE DAYS. hey Man. Let me tell you an incident. When I was in training period in my Company, one of the staffs who came was a Delhi-ite. During class, he asked any Tamilian to sing Nadhiye song from Rythm.. he also said that he went to an AUdio shop in Delhi, WHISTLED this tune asked for the Movie.. he liked the music so much it seems !! and of course he didnt know Tamil.. A.R.Rahman's music proves that Music is the ultimate Language. so go on, hear RYTHM and enjoy. Its the creativity of the music maestro to show the world that style is not only wat we watch on screen but also in music. The depth of the song has been seriously crafted for rajini's actions in movie..a most awaited clip to watch..the man gonna rock with the background score as well.. The athiradeee song is sure gona hit all the indian clubs in Malaysia soon..a remix copy would be great too..Its a foot tapping song with the heavy percussions n bass..this is one of rehmans best for rajni...i wonder how superstar gonna shake his belly here.. haha The title song spb(i guess) is marvelous..fast beat song again like compossed for vijay..haha..i guess rajni would walk all the time for this song.. :) Vaaji vaaji SivajiHariharan at his best..the percussions are unique..the best part of this song is the intro ludes..thats simply rehmans touch..fast pace song too..Is rajini gonna dance like prabu deva? :) Sahana n sahara song are splendid..The best part of sahara slow beat would be Naveens flute, and the traditional lyrics with a soothing guitar strings at the back.. One interesting part bout SIVAJI would be the combination of peter hein (Action), anthony (editing) prabu deva, raju sundaram, brinda lawrence (choreo)..PA. Vijay, Vaali, Vairamuthu (lyric) this is really a dream team.. With rehman Shankar again..they set a higher standard again for the others to follow..Would this album be the best movie/ song of the year? lets wait n see..music is about to reach there...another award for rehman after zee cinema award yesterday? 2007 belongs to him..my perception.. hi raj, i understand what are you trying to sayIMO the sivaji songs are superb and the best rajini song i thinkthere are difference between the 'thin layer' and 'soul' which you are saying.the difference is guru needs soul kind of a song sivaji doesnt need that its more to commercial...and same for pachai kili muthucharam:needs soul where anniyan doesnt need soul as it is also for coomercial purposeusually shankar movie is like that...some people like mass kind of a song while some like soul kind of a song...i like both...try to listen without the needs for soul u will like it...i hope u understand...maybe try to listen more to sahara... good luck Raj [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I am not sure whether anyone have posted abt this but the Sahana tune not the whole tune but the first 10 or so notes is the same as the wonderful Intha Kathal bgm from Uyire..of cos with some slight variation.. Cool,hahahaha... Chelva Petaling Jaya - Real people. Real questions. Real answers. Share what you know.

[arr] ARR 3rd Dimension tour US leg any news??
Hey fellow ARR fans, I have been reading several reports about the 3rd Dimension tour in the US being organized for the past 2 yrs. The promoters give out dates everytime and then end up canceling it. Well the latest one says Boss will be in Atlanta on May 27 at Phillips Arena for the 3rd Dimension tour. Apparently Mark Premji is the promoter. But from past experiences I know he had posted dates for the same show in May 2006, then September and as everyone knows they were all false. Now this one in May is also posted on Sulekha and when I spoke to Premji he said the sponsorships are also in place so is it true after all?? http://premji.com/ Guys close to ARR or anyone please confirm if you know more Jags

When you give review you've to be so geniune. Do you think, Shankar Rajini will accept this song from ARR (if it resembles with other songs)? Horrible comment. I think you are so jealous about ARR that how he delivers all his songs very nicely (super duper hits). Thats why, you accepted Sahana, Sahara Sivaji songs but you are not able to let your ego down; and hence blabbering something. Commenting on Style song? OMG !!! Whole world knows and agrees that ARR brings international music and fame to our India and its very brand new kinda music to us. Its gonna rock and again you are not able to accept it; what a sick man you are !!! Athiradee, what a song man? ARR rocked in this..!! We're hearing this kinda voice after a long time. ARR gets involved only when he likes. All normal person will like this song. Donno about you !!! The Boss, you've to watch this on screen (with Shankar's picturisation). Then give a comment. Kinda disappointed. (2) Vaaji (3/5) This type of track is what ARR did in 1996 i.e. Indian. Why the same in 2007? He could do this type of song in any other Tamil movie. (3) Sahana Sahara (3/5) Good song but same comments as for Vaaji. (4) Athiradee (3/5) Ranjit did the programming. Reminds of MJ's Dangerous tracks. The track from 00:45 seconds is familiar but I couldn't identify it. OK track. (5) Style (2/5) Never liked this track from the start. Don't like it when ARR goes Shaggy like in Ratchagan and E20U18. (6) The Boss (2/5) Should use less of Blaaze!!! Suresh Peters was a better muse for ARR - look at Thiruda Thiruda, Kaadhalan, Gentleman, Super Police, etc. .

[arr] [Semi-ARR] Film Review: Provoked
Film Review: Provoked By Sanjay Ram 31 March 2007, 07:03 AM Film: Provoked Director: Jagmohan Mundhra Cast: Aishwarya Rai, Miranda Richardson, Naveen Andrews Rating: 3.5/5 Provoked is much more than a mere film, it is a person's life showcased on the silver screen. Does a critic then have a right to judge such an effort? But by virtue of the venture being showcased on celluloid and the lead role being essayed by Aishwarya Rai, it turns into a commercial film, and hence needs to be adjudged so. Based on the life of Kiranjit Ahluwalia (Aishwarya Rai), a woman who sustained spousal (Naveen Andrews) abuse for 10 long years till one day when she decided she would suffer no more. Convicted of murdering her husband, Kiranjit was sentenced to life in prison, where she found her freedom and the strength to emerge a stronger woman. Meanwhile, outside the four walls of the prison, the fight for her cause took momentum thanks to the help of the Southhall black sisters, an NGO that supported the cause of women who have suffered at the hands of their spouses. After three years in prison, Kiranjit was set free after the court passed a judgment in her favour. The story has been out there for years now, but for the first time, it has been told to a larger audience. What is impressive about this film is the place in which it is set, England. Keeping in mind the location, the director does full justice not just to the story, but also the environment. The film is unbelievably English, with visible tones of blue, grey, black and yellow. Also, the English have a sense of mellow yet emotional stories to tell; Mundhra has very well understood the environment and shot the entire film based on this sensibility. If you choose to look past the obvious, the film works on three levels. That of love and betrayal, an emergence of a stronger woman and thirdly, a yarn of right versus wrong. There is a sense of purity with which the film is told, which this sort of tale needed, and this particularly makes for great viewing. !-- D([mb,u003c/p u003cpThe pace is the film#39;s grey area - with a story that has so much to tell and where the audience longs to know more, the film seems a tad bit too fast paced. It typically follows the conventional quot;open, body, endquot; format. The editing is flawless, heightened emotional scenes are placed right next to mellowed ones. This sort of editing aids the viewer from holding back those tears, yet feeling a sense of compassion for the story being told. u003c/p u003cpThe cinematography is commendable, the colours and the dry environment are well brought out. The close ups and panoramic shots create a sense of connection with the character. u003c/p u003cpSometimes, the actor can take away from a film far more than what they can provide the film with, and Provoked is a classic example. The creation of actors as brands can be the major problem. One often gets caught up with Rai#39;s flawless beauty (she looks God sent in practically every frame), even though this is perhaps her best performance after Raincoat. u003c/p u003cpOf course, there are times when she forgets to act. Like in the scene where Richardson is explaining what #39;heaving bosoms#39; are, Rai#39;s expression is visibly generated. In every scene, Andrews#39; presence is overpowered by Rai#39;s. In his limited screen time, however, Andrews manages to deliver a decent performance, although one has seen better work from him. Miranda Richardson and Nandita das are evidently brilliant, each scene enacted with great indulgence and élan. u003c/p u003cpProvoked will undoubtedly get a large viewership thanks to Ms Rai#39;s presence. Conversely. many viewers could also watch the film for what they choose to see, failing the purpose of the film. The film will fail to touch the prime audience who should have ideally been the SEC B and lower audience. It will be urban and multiplex goers the film will earn a major chunk of revenue from. Expect it to do a fair performance at the box office. u003c/p u003cpYou can choose to have a positive or negative opinion, but you cannot walk out of this film, having none. Provoked is larger than a film, it is a show reel of life, celebrate it.,1] ); //-- The pace is the film's grey area - with a story that has so much to tell and where the audience longs to know more, the film seems a tad bit too fast paced. I think, balailaika is not a tamil word. But its a foreign word which i have heard lot of times. It means a stringed instrument of Russian origin, with a characteristic triangular body and 3 strings (wiki) And BTW, Athirade and Balailaika song rocks guys.
