Wonderful site and great music!. We can really expect Rahman's 3rd entry
to Oscars with JA!.

BTW, there was a news that Ashutosh is going to delete some songs from
movie and also from album. I think, our group can request him to retain
all the songs through this email which is there on JA site...

Totally agree. On my Audio Technica in-ears I am hearing stuff from
his earlier compositions that I could swear never existed when I first
heard them. The subtle stuff that he does really gets you and it is
not uncommon for one to gasp at his sheer brilliance when listening to
some passage even for the umpteenth time.

Honestly I do not have any expectations of Rahman. I'm a devotee of
Rahman, and take whatever he has to offer, as a boon.

Kaissiom, I couldn't agree more. Rahman's music to me is like prasad,
every second being pure nectar. Yes, perhaps that doesn't qualify me
to be a critic of his music, but hey, I would take someone who's been
unfailingly bestowing boons for 15 years over any darned critic.

[arr] Re: Query about ATM and Sivaji(Hindi)

2007-10-29 Thread avyayan
Swanand Kirkire (Parineeta, Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Eklavya) is
penning Sivaji in Hindi. I love his sense of wordplay, both delightful
(Ek Theeki Theeki Si and Hum To Aise Hain from LCMD), and sombre
(Laaga Chunari Mein Daag from LCMD, and Raak Akeli Hain from
Parineeta). So pretty high hopes there. He did say in some interview
that he's trying to grasp the intent of the Tamil lyrics and then
convey it in Hindi. And as the songs are apparently being reshot,
lip-sync may not be an issue.

As for Ujjayini (or is it Ujjaini), I am still trying to ascertain
whether she's the SRGMP Challenge 2005 finalist and Ek Main Aur Ek Tu
winner. If so, yes, it's fantastic he's milking the shows cos they do
throw up some outstanding talent, tv network's polling shenanigans
notwithstanding!

[arr] Producers of ATM replace Rahman with Sabesh-Murali for the BGM

2007-10-29 Thread Hari charan
Behindwoods.com*
*

**There is one movie that has toiled to see the light of the day, it has to
be Azhagiya Tamil Magan. This movie, initially unsure of its Deepavali
release is cruising towards it, and has left no stone unturned to ensure a
smooth sailing. Its original distributors Pyramid Saimira withdrew a few
days ago fearing a legal wrangle the producer was caught in.

Hardly had that issue died had the next one cropped up. This one was by the
producers themselves. The issue is about changing the music composer for the
background score of the film. This is a big one as Sabesh–Murali replaced A
R Rahman because of the delay the latter caused in composing the music. With
this, the project is sailing smooth and is ready for the censors.

The Chennai rights has been sold for a record price, initially Vijay's
father S.A. Chandrasekhar was holding the Chennai rights of the movie but
now news is out that it has been sold to Kalpathi Agoram, the producer of
Thiruttu Payale.

---

As per the reports, the producer has decided to replace Rahman with Sabesh
Murali for the background score. This is really disturbing news. We were all
so eager to hear his back ground score for ATM. Had they wanted to release
ATM for Deepavali, why did they not communicate the same to Rahman while
getting him to score the music for ATM? They could have gone for some other
MD instead of Rahman. Actually I am so disappointed by this report. I pray
that these are only rumors. We also don't know if this is being done with
the consent of Rahman.

Can Gopal or Vijay confirm this news please?

Haricharan

But I really can understand by what you mean because thats exactly what even I

agree with you that its totally worth buying a good set of earphones just to

You can listen to every low and every high without missing a single drum beat

2007-10-29 Thread Gomzy
Hello Satya,

Totally agree. Shure is one other brand thats much much better than bose
(inclusing the tripod one)
Also Bose is too fragile and one cannot handle them roughly in comparison to
the others in
the market.

But I really can understand by what you mean because thats exactly what
even I felt when I started listening to Rahman's songs on my Shure's and I
totally agree with you that its totally worth buying a good set of earphones
just to listen to Rahman's music.
You can listen to every low and every high without missing a single drum
beat or a single guitar strum.

 A.R.Rahman in a Lollywood flick

Who doesn't know the famous composer A.R. Rahman? Yes, he is the one
who rendered music for the best of Bollywood movies. Whether the film
makes business or not, his songs are sure to create waves all over
the world. Nah! We don't intend to bore you with stuff that you
already know. Our actor/producer Humayun Saeed has hooked A.R. Rahman
for his upcoming movie. The title of the film is still under

Great news for all the music lovers who want to see the Lollywood
music flourish just as the pop music. Humayun Saeed has recently
returned from Norway after selecting the locations of shooting and
plans to finalise the cast soon. After the turnover of Khuda Ke Liye,
Humayun Saeed is very optimistic about his movie and he ensures that

 Nice thoughts Humayun!

Kaissiom, I couldn't agree more. Rahman's music to me is like prasad,

  Hi all,

I had a couple of questions, please chime in if anybody knows.

  1. Re: ATM - Couple of songs have been credited to Ujjaini. Is this
the same Ujjaini from Saregampa Challenge 2005? Because, if it is
then it's great to know that Rahman is tapping in the talent emerging
from these competitions. I would love to see Rahman give opportunity
to Mauli, Sumedha or Amanat from SRGMP C2007.

  2. Re: Sivaji(Hindi) - Does anybody know who is doing the lyrics in
Hindi? I seriously hope they rope in Javed Akthar sahab or Prasoon
Joshi for lyrics. A lot of dubbed albums have suffered the fate of
  bad lyrics when translated.

p.s. I have been hooked on ATM. The album keeps growing on me, all
songs hold their own. Whoever has done the Remix of Ponmagal, has
done a great job. But the tortoise of the album, which has slowly and
steadily won the race of winning my heart is Kelamal Kaiyile. I
didn't like this song in the beginning, I thought it was average, but
wow, it was just my brain trying to understand what is going on in
that song. It has some serious experimentation - with tamil song and
subtle techo/trans beats. Only Rahman can think, create and deliver
  something like that.

People talk about expectations from Rahman albums, having too high
expectations etc.. Honestly I do not have any expectations of Rahman.
I'm a devotee of Rahman, and take whatever he has to offer, as a
 boon.

All that is good and successful comes from God, all that is bad and
failure is because of myself - Rahman himself (I can't remember the
exact phrase but it was to the same effect.)

  Always,
  Proud to be a Rahmaniac.

Re: [arr] CUT THIS TREND OF OVER HYPE

2007-10-29 Thread jayaram81
I agree to the fact it is not a good trend to create hype and have
high expectations and crib when it doesn't meet, but again,
individuals have their right of free speech and expression. Hype is a
by-product to this freedom. Whether you like a song or not should not
be dependent on what others say, but what you perceive when you
listen to it. In my humble opinion, if anyone likes a song based on
an influence just because someone says that it is good or bad, he/she
is not fit to pass any judgement.

This being a forum of majority people who love the music Rahman
creates, a post like ATM sucks big time is bound to evoke strong
reactions. ATM rocks big time to me as much as it sucks to you,
because individual taste differs. I am not here to question your
taste but specify in general that it shouldn't matter what others say.

Please do not take this personally. This post is addressed to the all
other fellow members in general.

Rgds.

I am not against supporting Rahman, but unnec creating hype which in

fan wud agree with this. Only 2-3 songs have quality rest are just
sleep walkin. Forgettable. Rahman wake up, these false flatterers are
 digging ur pit.
