No Taal hangover likely with this record, and Rahman will never reach the same heights as he once did in the late 1990s (it's only normal since every artist has their peak and it doesn't mean that Rahman cannot come out with brilliant work today, as he has proven many times recently). 2) Soundtrack will likely be quite commercial oriented with hummable melodies, but less of classical, old melody styles that we heard in JA and Ada. 3) The tempo of this song is THE EXACT SAME TEMPO (speed) that you hear in the instrumental piece on the website. May not mean anything, just an observation. Frankly, I am a bit underwhelmed by this song SO FAR, which may just only be my perception and expectations. 4) I fear less ethnic percussion and more keyboard rhythms in this soundtrack (as we just heard). 5) Expect lots of strings, choirs, piano, and other symphonic arrangements (as we have also heard a bit) with less of traditional Indian instrumentation as Western classical music appears to be the musical backdrop for this film. 6) Rahman once said that the soundtrack is mellow. Combine that with words like peaceful and soulful, you get the idea. 7) Many will be initially disappointed with the music, as comparisons to Taal and Kisna will be abound, but the music will catch on later. [arr] Yuvraaj - Rahman's best works till date - Gulzar
Whenever music wizard A.R.Rahman and iconic lyricist Gulzaar have come together they have always weaved magic. Right from Shah Rukh Khan's Chaiyyan Chaiyyan (DIL SE) to Aishwarya–Abhishek's Tere Bina (GURU), the duo has successfully serenaded the audience with some superb and soulful compositions. And of course things can get only better as they are now coming together in YUVVRAAJ for ex–showman, Subhash Ghai, a director who is very passionate about music. With the first teaser of Ghai's magnum opus, YUVVRAAJ, carrying the hauntingly beautiful signature piano tune, a trademark Rahman (out on every channel) the curiosity and expectancy levels have only increased. The stamp of approval for YUVVRAAJ's musical score comes from none other than the great lyricist Gulzaar himself. As per Gulzaar Sahab, the songs of YUVVRAAJ are 'magnificent' but he is quick to add that he is not saying this because he is the lyricist of the film. He gives all the credit to the director, Subhash Ghai and the music director, A.R. Rahman. In fact, Gulzaar recently saw the songs of the film and was of the view that this is one of Rahman's best works till date. He further added that Subhash Ghai has picturised the songs beautifully. And that is because he is so involved with the music that very few can match up to his level. http://www.glamsham.com/movies/scoops/08/oct/04-gulzar-yuvvraaj-music-is-magnificient-100806.asp -- regards, Vithur ARR in my Heart; His Music in my Blood;

:) Hm.. the problem with Chord is, he always expects too much from Rahman. Even after having classical albums like JA and Ada this year, he still wants similar suff :) Chord, please don't take this personally, I always appreciate you as a good observer of Rahman's music, but I don't like it when you go out of limit!! No one will like this too much writeup after hearing just a bit song!... Moreover I'm glad that Rahman is giving one more commercially chartbusting music after JTYJN... [arr] Re: Why did Ghai choose Western classical music as the backdrop?
that was wat i was thinking as well... maybe he felt he couldnt make any movies more grandeur than Devdas... thus he doesnt wanna take the risk... i think Devdas shows Indian classical culture at its best... so maybe Ghai wants to show something else to the audience --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I get it that he wanted to make a movie about music. But, why couldn't he have chosen Indian classical music? From photos and promos, the whole music scene looks Western. Why not make a film with sitar, tabla, sarangi, tanpura, flute, santoor, instead of piano, violin, choirs? This is INDIA afterall. Oh well, director's freedom can't be challenged, but choice of music culture is what I question. I also feel that Ghai tries to be extra glossy and flashy in his films, with recent films testifying to more style and less substance, hence BO failures. Hence, the western classical backdrop is more in line with his flashy, glossy film-making style. Having Indian classical music as a core musical backdrop would be too traditional and in his mind, boring. But, imagine the magic of Rahman's music if he composed for a film based on Indian classical music. Traditional Indian music is ARR's forte, not Western classical, even though he excels in that too.

[arr] Film music hits the right notes
This year has been a mixed bag so far for the Indian music industry, which relies heavily on Bollywood movie soundtracks to keep the cash registers ringing. Among the success stories was the soundtrack release of music composer and actor Himesh Reshammiya's much-awaited *Karzzz*, ahead of the film's box-office release on October 16. The music has received a bumper response all over, including in the GCC territories, with the UAE leading sales. *Karzzz's* run adds to the recent success of soundtracks from the films Jannat, Jaane *Tu ya Jaane Na, Singh Is Kinng, Bachna Ae Haseeno* and *Rock On*, which has given some impetus to the sluggish Bollywood music business so far this year. The year 2008 started on a slow note with only A R Rahman's Jodha Akbar managing to cross sales of more than one million units, until Race took the music charts by storm thanks to composer Pritam's vibrant score. The second half of 2008 rocked the music industry with the soundtracks of three films – *Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na*, *Singh Is Kinng *and* Bachna Ae Haseeno *– each achieving individual sales of more than 1.5m units. With no major remix or private album recently that has rocked the musical charts, music store owners had to be content with sporadic successful compilations of Bollywood hits such as Let's Rock The Party, Lambhi Judai and Pappu Can't Dance. *'Piracy is the biggest threat to Indian film music' *One regional company has benefited most from this year's slew of successful Bollywood soundtracks, including this month's hit, *Karzzz*. Viva Entertainment, the region's largest player in the segment, has cornered the market on Indian music here in the GCC, and holds exclusive licences for Saregama, T-Series, Tips, Venus, Times Music, Big Music, and Yashraj Films. Together, these labels account for 90 per cent of the Bollywood music market. *Emirates Business* caught up with Sanjay Khettry, Head of Indian Music Division at Viva Entertainment, to take a closer look at regional trends for this cash-rich genre. *How has Bollywood music performed so far this year vis-à-vis last year, and which are the best sellers in this region? * Bollywood music sales haven't been good this year. The year-to-date sales have not matched last year's numbers in the corresponding period – thanks to heavy internet downloading, and other forms of piracy. Having said that, we haven't had as many runaway hits this year, except titles such as Race, Singh Is Kinng and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Naa. Though Rock On and Kismat Connection have continued selling, the numbers haven't been dramatically high. *What percentage of your music portfolio do Bollywood soundtracks account for? * Mainstream soundtracks still contribute to the bulk business; the main reason being the unavailability of compilations consisting of only hit tracks. Due to contractual and other copyright issues, not many compilations are available in the market. [arr] Gulzar: YUVVRAAJ music is magnificient!
Gulzar: YUVVRAAJ music is magnificient! Whenever music wizard A.R.Rahman and iconic lyricist Gulzar have come together they have always weaved magic. Right from Shah Rukh Khan's Chaiyyan Chaiyyan (DIL SE) to AishwaryaAbhishek's Tere Bina (GURU), the duo has successfully serenaded the audience with some superb and soulful compositions. And of course things can get only better as they are now coming together in YUVVRAAJ for exshowman, Subhash Ghai, a director who is very passionate about music. With the first teaser of Ghai's magnum opus, YUVVRAAJ, carrying the hauntingly beautiful signature piano tune, a trademark Rahman (out on every channel) the curiosity and expectancy levels have only increased. The stamp of approval for YUVVRAAJ's musical score comes from none other than the great lyricist Gulzar himself. As per Gulzar Sahab, the songs of YUVVRAAJ are 'magnificent' but he is quick to add that he is not saying this because he is the lyricist of the film. He gives all the credit to the director, Subhash Ghai and the music director, A.R. Rahman. In fact, Gulzar recently saw the songs of the film and was of the view that this is one of Rahman's best works till date. He further added that Subhash Ghai has picturised the songs beautifully. And that is because he is so involved with the music that very few can match up to his level. http://www.glamsham.com/movies/scoops/08/oct/04-gulzar-yuvvraaj-music-is\ -magnificient-100806.asp http://www.glamsham.com/movies/scoops/08/oct/04-gulzar-yuvvraaj-music-i\ s-magnificient-100806.asp -- regards.. Krish.. His Music ~ My Mother Tongue He is a milestone in Hindi film music. He has single-handedly changed the sound of music in the movies. He has broken the mukhda-antara-mukhda scheme of composition and replaced the traditional patterns of tuning. He can tune to a near identical rhythm in two different songs. But these songs will still catch the listener off guard even when played immediately after each other. Instead of having the fixed format, the song can also run like free verse with his kind of music. -- Gulzar Saab www.orkut.com/ AlbumList. aspx?uid= 7295035299513517 297 http://www.orkut.com/AlbumList.aspx?uid=7295035299513517297

[arr] Re: Why did Ghai choose Western classical music as the backdrop?
What about TAAL?? --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I get it that he wanted to make a movie about music.

[arr] A.R.Rahman - Salman Khan combo
Certain movies of Salman Khan have special soundtracks like Maine Pyar Kiya, Baaghi, Ek Ladka Ek Ladki, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, etc. that feature simple and soothing melodies - they only suit Salman and nobody else...but then, his other movies have fun-filled upbeat songs that often sound pedestrian to music lovers of high tastes... I always wondered what kind of music ARR would give for a Salman Khan film...my question was answered in the 2 absolutely romantic tracks from Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa - the title song and my top fav. Jane Bahara -- what a beautiful melody, pure and simple, took me back to those magical Salman Khan songs of the 90s...Jane Bahara is still a one-of-a-kind song from ARR, a shining gem!... And now, after listening to the Tu Hi To Meri Dost Hai song from Yuvvraaj, ARR has repeated the same Jane Bahara magic (well, in my opinion)...wonderful song...I can't quite describe it...I'm not talking about the 'instrumental creativity' or the 'tune variations' or any other technical stuff which some fans seem to go too far into...its the inner soul that a song has, the feelings that this song unleashes...there's more sides to ARR than just instrumentally creative albums like the recent smash hit Sakkarakatti... Coming to the hasty responses to Yuvvraaj's trailers...the times are changing, nowadays some soundtracks are composed keeping the movie's theme in mind, composers ensure that their songs gel well with the movie and not stick out like sore thumbs...gone are the days when almost all soundtracks were purposely composed to stand out on their own...take the case of Rock On, where its music didn't catch on initially, but when the audience saw how the songs were so nicely incorporated within the movie, the soundtrack became a huge Top 10 hit...so I'd say ..wait for the movie, and then decide how the songs are... Anyhow, that was my lengthy 2 cents :)

[arr] SONGS ARE SUGAR BUT NO SUGAR IN MOVIE
After a long time since Shivaji the block buster movie starring super star Rajnikanth musical legend A.R.Rahman has provided us with a musical treat in this film sakkarakatti which means sugar cube. After the film's audio release i was totally stunned by the way Rahman has composed the music. Every song in this film is really a treat for our ears. Each song is different in it's own quality. There are songs of all genre that is village style song, melody, rap. Rahman has taken music to the next level in this movie. But when i went to the film i was terribly disappointed with the film and also the song's visuals. There was absolutely nothing in the film. There was no sequence in the scenes, unnecessary sets for the songs and the songs also do not sink with the film. It was ultimate frustration sitting inside the theatre for 3 hours wasting money. This is the worst film i have ever seen in my life. Unnecessary English dialogues which reduces the interest to watch the film. The film has only one hero that is A.R.Rahman for his marvelous musical score. Otherwise there is nothing in the film to talk of. Out of 5 my score is 0/5 and for music 5/5 for Rahman. http://vinothcraig.blogspot.com/2008/10/songs-are-sugar-but-no-sugar-in-movie.html -- regards, Vithur ARR in my Heart; His Music in my Blood;
[arr] The music of Yuvvraaj is outstanding - Salman Khan
The music of Yuvvraaj is outstanding - Salman Khan *Joginder Tuteja*, IndiaGlitz [Saturday, October 04, 2008] First look of YUURAAJ is out and while reactions from the industry as well as the common man are still awaited, those associated with the film are ecstatic to say the least. This is what they have to say about the music which is expected to hit the stands soon: Salman Khan - When Rahman and Subhashji come together, they give you the best music. The music of Yuvvraaj is outstanding. Its very soulful, peaceful and carries a sweetness of its own with powerful lyrical value. A. Rahman - Subhash Ghai is very different from other directors. He has really worked hard on the visuals. They look really colourful and really romantic. It's almost treated in a musical way where it's more realistic than just background music. Gulzar - When I saw the songs of Yuvvraaj on screen, I sent a message to Rahman saying that they were magnificent, and this is a very honest opinion of his songs and picturization. Great showman puts up a great show! I think the performances of Subhash's Yuvvraaj will go a long way in carrying this film ahead. It touches your heart. Shridhar (Sound Engineer – Yuvvraaj) - I think its gonna rock, well, its gonna orchestrate... It's going to reach a lot of people... and touch their minds and souls… http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/hindi/article/42070.html -- regards, Vithur ARR in my Heart; His Music in my Blood;
[arr] Non-ARR: Maniratnam's movie titled Production no:11!
Mani Ratnam's Production no: 11 It's well-known that Mani Ratnam directs a bilingual flick in Hindi and Tamil for his production house Madras talkies, which has its storyline based on the epic Ramayana. The film started rolling and the shoot progresses in the dense forests of Chalakudi. Abhishek would join the crew for the shoot by tomorrow, October 5th whereas Aishwarya would come to Chalakudi on October 8th. Maniratnam titled his movie as 'Ashokavanam' for its Tamil version and 'Ravana' for its Hindi version. But now the Tamil title has been in mess as the name has been already registered in the film chamber by another popular director who would introduce his son to the filmdom through the film titled same as 'Ashokavanam'. However, the closer sources reveal that the ace director would finalize and announce the title of the film once the first schedule of the shoot gets completed and till then the film would be denoted as 'Production no:11. http://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/article/42047.html

expectations soaring now! On Sat, Oct 4, 2008 at 2:17 AM, Vithur [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Whenever music wizard A.R.Rahman and iconic lyricist Gulzaar have come together they have always weaved magic. Right from Shah Rukh Khan's Chaiyyan Chaiyyan (DIL SE) to Aishwarya–Abhishek's Tere Bina (GURU), the duo has successfully serenaded the audience with some superb and soulful compositions. And of course things can get only better as they are now coming together in YUVVRAAJ for ex–showman, Subhash Ghai, a director who is very passionate about music. With the first teaser of Ghai's magnum opus, YUVVRAAJ, carrying the hauntingly beautiful signature piano tune, a trademark Rahman (out on every channel) the curiosity and expectancy levels have only increased. The stamp of approval for YUVVRAAJ's musical score comes from none other than the great lyricist Gulzaar himself. As per Gulzaar Sahab, the songs of YUVVRAAJ are 'magnificent' but he is quick to add that he is not saying this because he is the lyricist of the film. He gives all the credit to the director, Subhash Ghai and the music director, A.R. Rahman. In fact, Gulzaar recently saw the songs of the film and was of the view that this is one of Rahman's best works till date. He further added that Subhash Ghai has picturised the songs beautifully. And that is because he is so involved with the music that very few can match up to his level. http://www.glamsham.com/movies/scoops/08/oct/04-gulzar-yuvvraaj-music-is-magnificient-100806.asp -- regards, Vithur ARR in my Heart; His Music in my Blood;

[arr] Re: A.R.Rahman - Salman Khan combo
Excellent Post! Thanks for sharing! --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, msaif_787 [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Certain movies of Salman Khan have special soundtracks like Maine Pyar Kiya, Baaghi, Ek Ladka Ek Ladki, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, etc. that feature simple and soothing melodies - they only suit Salman and nobody else...but then, his other movies have fun-filled upbeat songs that often sound pedestrian to music lovers of high tastes...

Mahima, problem is not that who's criticizing or who is the real fan who is not... Re: [arr] Why did Ghai choose Western classical music as the backdrop?
Rahman's forte is music... pls don't tie in any partiucular genre... Arijit 2008/10/3 Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] I get it that he wanted to make a movie about music.
Re: [arr] ADA releasing?
My feeling is that in movies like JA ... with such beautiful music one cannot at the same time overlook the large looming figures of ABHI n Ash which gave the other ppl ppl other than Rahman Fans a curiosity to know about the movie. In a movie like ADA where the artists are not known it may be tough to capture the attention of non rahman fans. But at the same time the songs in ADA will come to stay in the memory of people for a very long time - so I suppose we should wait for the release of the Movie. --- On Sat, 10/4/08, Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From: Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [arr] ADA releasing? well it is too early to make judgments but yes i agree that it does not impress much. i am expecting more classical music like Taal. i hope the rest of songs do not disappoint and i am pretty sure also because Ghai's films normally have traditional/classic music. Kisna was a huge disappointment (at least for me) and i dont want to compared it with that and pray that it does not fall in same category. i dont think indiafm will give it 1/5, it will give at least 3/5 given that it is a big banner film and hype is enormous. --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: My thoughts. 1) People wishing for Taal II, forget it. well expectations are sky rocketing, at least the first song is not as impressive, at least not up to the expectations as Kabhi kabhi Aditi was in JTYJN's first promo. --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Vithur [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Whenever music wizard A.R.Rahman and iconic lyricist Gulzaar have come together they have always weaved magic. Right from Shah Rukh Khan's Chaiyyan Chaiyyan (DIL SE) to AishwaryaAbhishek's Tere Bina (GURU), the duo has successfully serenaded the audience with some superb and soulful compositions. And of course things can get only better as they are now coming together in YUVVRAAJ for exshowman, Subhash Ghai, a director who is very passionate about music. With the first teaser of Ghai's magnum opus, YUVVRAAJ, carrying the hauntingly beautiful signature piano tune, a trademark Rahman (out on every channel) the curiosity and expectancy levels have only increased. The stamp of approval for YUVVRAAJ's musical score comes from none other than the great lyricist Gulzaar himself. As per Gulzaar Sahab, the songs of YUVVRAAJ are 'magnificent' but he is quick to add that he is not saying this because he is the lyricist of the film. He gives all the credit to the director, Subhash Ghai and the music director, A.R. Rahman. In fact, Gulzaar recently saw the songs of the film and was of the view that this is one of Rahman's best works till date. He further added that Subhash Ghai has picturised the songs beautifully. And that is because he is so involved with the music that very few can match up to his level. http://www.glamsham.com/movies/scoops/08/oct/04-gulzar-yuvvraaj- music-is-magnificient-100806.asp -- regards, Vithur ARR in my Heart; His Music in my Blood;
[arr] Re: Why did Ghai choose Western classical music as the backdrop?
They have been sayin movie/soundtrack is blend of both Western and Indian classical music. Anil Kapoor plays the role of classical singer in the movie, so I am sure there will also be few classical songs as well. Watch out for more promos or for soundtrack to release. It is not wise to decide whats hidden in the box from its outside look :) --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Chord [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I get it that he wanted to make a movie about music.

Hi Chord and all, I completely agree with chord. After seeing the trailers, i have no doubts left that there is nothing to hope out of this movie. Also, i am sorry to say but the music in the trailer is not impressive at all. It looks like Ghai has intervened too much and have forced ARR to commercialize his music. ARR himself has also been into commercialization than he ever was. First JTYJN (I still listen JA songs more than JTYJN) and now Yuvvraj. Upcoming Gajni will also be more commercialized coz of Aamir factor. So all we are left with is Private album of ARR and Dilli 6. My prediction about Yuvvraj could be wrong when music releases (I pray god I'm wrong), but trailer of Yuvvraj sugests something else. [arr] Judging too soon for our own sake.
Friends, Lets remember that music is much like a life partner. Passing a judgment on it too soon - just by listening to the preview or even after listening entire song a few times - is not a good idea. Opinions Feelings change over time. Facing just 1 ball in a match trying to tell the outcome of it - doesn't serve any purpose. Lets enjoy ARR his music - lets allow it to sink in - and then judge for ourselves. This is the reason why I NEVER read/consider any reviews about ARR albums - even from our Group. I let my own heart do the deciding. even if all our friends in the group say something, I allow myself the liberty to arrive at my own conclusion on any song. Passing judgments too soon is like having a look at the menu card giving out a verdict.. imagine how the Cook would feel :)) Peace ! Pradeepan.

I do not know what made you feel so.. but I am surly enjoying the new yuvvraaj sound. I know what the problem is.. Taal came when ARR was still very fresh in hindi.. in those days as there were no mimics, his sounds stand apart.. And it could create an immediate impression on everybody. But now, everybody is trying to produce the same rahman sound. Its tough to stand apart.. even with his best work, it is difficult to create the same impression as in 1990s. That does not mean the music is inferior, it only takes time to prove itself.. Anyway, whatever we heard is only starting part of the song.. the sound is very clear..he added instruments one by one.. nothing bad about it..as per your complaint,it is only about humming. We did not get to hear the interludes.. that is where all the treasure will be.. You say the first Taal trailer had best sound but what is it.. There is no best in Taal..May be there were differences in those days but now, I cannot pick what is best in Taal.. is it Nahin Saamne? Ishq Ishq? Ramta jogi? Or Taal western? Well, some people I know say Kariyena is best in Taal. -R --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, Pravinder Sheoran [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Hi all, I absolutely agree with Chord here. Combine that with words like peaceful and soulful, you get the idea. 7) Many will be initially disappointed with the music, as comparisons to Taal and Kisna will be abound, but the music will catch on later. Re: [arr] Sakkarakatti.. one of ARR's worst..
too insane and silly, boorish email to respond. you can move out of this forum if u want to. you need not comment on my credentials. I am one of the oldest members of the forum and responding to such inane emails from a newcomer doesnot make sense for me. silence is serene. --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, $ Pavan Kumar $ [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: You go on criticising anyone u wish..the old members of the group..and hey..u criticise rahman himself too ...We dont have any probs..Coz..once in a blue moon we have guys of your type...popping up..saying these kind of things..you are not new..so..dont feel lonely.. But But..dont call yourself as a Rahman fan..You are not one..If you expect perfection everytime..then the problem is with you..Rahman is under no obligation to make you happy or satisfy you..If you can take what he gives, accept it..or else..just move on..nobody is forcing you to hear his music..Hope..you follow the so called perfection in your life too..I am happy to have come across someone as perfect as you... Wah..guys...just imagine..what will happen when ghajini,dilli 6, yuvraaj release..its going to be really horrible here..Lets guess... 1.Yuvraj is not as good as taal. 2.Tamil ghajini is better...harris did a better job in tamil 3. Dilli 6 is a huge let down..no where near Rang De Basanti.. Its going to be really tough.. --- On Wed, 10/1/08, sriramvr_in [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: From: sriramvr_in [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [arr] Sakkarakatti.. one of ARR's worst.. To: arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com Date: Wednesday, October 1, 2008, 9:11 AM ARR gave value for money earlier but it is not the case now. Busy schedule is taking toll on him. ARR had earlier mentioned that if there are 4 songs, he would give 4 perfect songs so that people get VFM. Is that the case now? His quaility of output has decreased sometimes and it is only because of his limited time and not anything else. the arrangements are become stale. say out of 6 songs in an album, only 2-3 are ok now which was not the case earlier. there is nothing significantly refreshing in some of his recent works. And being one of the ARR's oldest fans, I expect perfection everytime. --- In arrahmanfans@ yahoogroups. com, Naveen Naushad naveenjn@ . wrote: Sakkarakatti may not be a classic like his works in the 90s but it definitely is not bad like you said. Couple of numbers are rocking and sadly that is all you get from ARR's recent works. Once in a while an album like Jaane Tu or Ada comes from ARR where every single song is enjoyable. Otherwise it is mostly just 2 or 3 numbers. Just enjoy the songs you like and don't listen to the rest. And don't ever hope for another 90s kind of album. He was at his prime then. Back then he had to prove to the world that his success was no fluke. Today he is the greatest composer in Asia. He doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. After Lagaan, his style has changed to a more matured kind. Let us live with it. The spirit and soul of ARR is completely missing. atrocious music.
[arr] Re: Sakkarakatti.. one of ARR's worst..
dont try to be too clever in saying things world already knows. comparing ARR with other junk artists you had mentioned only shows that you are not sound enough. ARR is in a different plane altogether, his music is serene. dont compare ARR with these junk artists. Think you have a penchant for everything foreign. also a sensible reader knows what Time magazine is all about. Even ARR would agree that Sakarakkati is definitely not in his league except for 2 very good songs in sakarakkati. first try to accept constructive criticism. --- In arrahmanfans@yahoogroups.com, nazeef mohammed [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Here's another point. After reading another mail from you, I had to top up with this. Well, Rahman makes music for a script narrated by the director. He composes more songs than what you finally hear, just to let you know, the Director picks up the most suitable for his movies and others are not used. So, it's implicated that the director and the producers are happy.Rahman's job is done. With whatever given, we are free to like them or not. If you like them, then great! If not, then great, we love them! I hope you understand the whole scene here. The AR-fan relation is catalysed by the music he gives to movie, which in turn goes through many factors invariably. That's the motive behind starting KM Music-to be able to supply to more fans and the music lovers of different genres, who in many, need to hear stuff much deeper than those you got in movies. I reiterate my stand. Rahman's fans are those who become because of the music he gives, however they maybe. Not those who need them as if the music is made only for them. Mind you, he comes in an elite group of musicians who can boast of being in the TIME mag's all time top ten tracks and also considered one of the best selling artists above people like Madonna, Britney and most clad artists. Damn! AR never boasts! AR has lost touch.Right!!! A classic like JA, a youthful album like JTYJN and Sakarakatti all in one yr and more. You servant will compose???
