from heavens where I imagine the gandharvas playing in the skies and that 
Rahman has brought this for the earthlings. No matter how much I write about 
this song, I feel empty. I like to speak about this song, listen to this song 
and devour this brilliance. Last week a north Indian friend of mine comes up to 
me and asks for this song. Being a bit possessive about this song, I was 
reluctant to share in the beginning. But the divine nature of this song caught 
up in me and pushed me into passing the song to him. Such is the power of this 
song. My friend, who doesnt have any idea of tamil, is taken aback by the 
composition. I am only glad to exlplain the lyrics and the situation in the 
movie. I am blessed

  First of all - my verdict - JA music is AWESOME ! nothing less
  Now the details.
  Aseem shahenshah and jashn just picks u alongwith it in the first hearing 
itself! unusual for a rahman i nust say..and once picked up...take my 
word...they won't let u go off
  Khwaja grows on u after the second hearing and inn la..after the third and 
mann mohana the last.
  All in all the 4 out of 5 are all extremely good that u get confused which is 
ur fav with all the 4 tunes running around in ur head!
  I won't say anythinbg more than that it is a must buy...
  And i too don't agree with the view of some that rahman of 90's is lost...the 
whole beuty of rahman is that he doesnt stick to a genre or style..he keeps 
reinventing..guru and JA are as diff as chalk and cheese as maybe sivaji and 
LOTR ! and this thing is sadly missed by some of his so called fans...hey 
buddies..learn to enjoy the new rahman...leave ur baggages elsewhere..be a lil 
more broadminded in music and embrace the new kool stuffs which rahman is 
dishing out...and of course for ur daily nostalgic fix there are innumerable 
old rahman classics at ur disposal..

I dunno how much of you remember the reviews for Iruvar movie tracks . .
. Comments started pouring frequently when the audio hit the stores,
stating that why would someone compose these kinda songs in this modern
era when every one is expecting techno kinda stuff. But when the movie
released they shamelessly admitted to the fact that the tracks are for
the film's need and not the run of the mill kinda stuff.





Now when I see comments like, just ignore Baazi Laga and Bappi Da song I
use to tell myself let the movie hit the screens then every will
understand why these tracks are included in this film. So guys let us
wait and watch . . .





Instead of ignoring Baazi Laga and Ek lo Ek Muft, lets just ignore the
comments !!



Its better not to listen to the tracks rather downloading from pirated
sites !!

Good stuff da...the best of both worlds! Chinmayee plus Jayachandran
together in one heavenly song
Surprisingly I dont seem to recollect too many songs sung separately
by a male and female in the same movie (of course not counting songs
with slight changes like in Pudhiya Mugham)

Maybe you can try it out for Kannukku Maiyyazhaku or probably Oru
Poyyavathu Sol kanne. The result mite turn out to be pretty interesting

Macha! Thanks a lot for these tips on music appreciation. You seem to
be a great expert on music, so I decided I will follow your tips to
the max to 'enjoy' music from now on...

(1) I removed the mute, put in the volume to max and listened to them
properly. Even got a friend of mine to sit with me to make sure he
also listens to the songs at full volume
(2) I cleared my ears with Johnson & Johnson's ear buds, made a
qualified doctor check if there is some kind of cotton or muffler
stuck deep inside my ears. Even doublechecked with another expert ENT,
and did some "sound" tests. They declared me fit to listen to music.
(3) Is there a Srikant Deva fan club? Then I really pity them. BTW,
what movies have Srikant Deva given music for? Never heard any of tht
dude's songs. You seem to know a lot more on them...
(4) FYI Sivakasi, Aaru and Thirupachi were not even fit for writing
reviews. Can you kindly linke me to MY reviews for these movies. Gosh,
I didnt know I wrote reviews for them...you must be a really keen
follower of whatever I write.
(5) Refer (2). I can mail across a soft copy of the certificate from
the doctor saying I m not deaf.

One more problem dude, I am not able to log on to the home page of my
idol (as you claim) Srikant Deva. The website address srikantdeva.com
seems to be wrong. Can you please redirect me to the correct page so I
can revel in their music and forget someone like ARR ever existed?
This will help me write some great reviews for their movies and write
more hate mails on ARR (of course as you still claim)

Thank you so much for your tips. Will always keep them in mind.

Sorry to the other ARR fans, this was just too insulting. I promise
you I am not going to spam your mailboxes again on this topic. And I
really respect other peoples opinions as well.

Thanks for the feedback, tht was my blog. I resisted writing a review
for a few days, waiting for the music to sink in...sadly tht is yet to
happen...I still stand by my opinion on GF and I still believe ARR is
God, and of course, you are also entitled to your own opinions...if u
think it rocks, so be it!
I still listen to GF in the hope it will sound better to me someday
soon...and sincerely hope tht it happens, and if tht does happen I
will definitely have a post about it on my blog! Tht is the respect I
hold for God!

Hello friends,
I'm one of the silent watchers of this group which
contain some interesting people. 
I would like comment on RDB music score. The music can
be rated as one of the finest ARR has composed till
date. It has some innovative tunes, variety and class
which reflects the immense talent of ARR. Also
prashoon Ghoshi has penned catchy lyrics. 
Undoubtedly this is the music for the new generation. 
I have listened to it more than hundred times, but I'm
not tired yet.

Kandukondain Kandukondain, can be put in that category as well...Correction,Kandukondain was an inspired adaptation of Sense and Sensibility..Serendipity was blatantly remade as Jay-Jay and another movie(s?) as well..

Would be great if these projects get going because they are movies 
with good storyline and substance unlike run-of-the-mill stuffs..!

What I remember about that post, was that the music is

There are no composer details for ARR on this site! Can we mail the
site hosts or someone and make them update the same?
I was also there at the Bangalore concert...God totally rocked! Felt
really sad there was no Dil Se by ARR and no tracks from Swades :((

my .02 on the d/l issue..
why not contact iTunes directly ?
I think I saw Warriors or some other album already available on iTunes.
Why not make all albums available as well ?. I know this might not be
possible for older albums due to copyrights ownership issues,but it can
definitely be done for all future albums.
And since iTunes is not restricted to iPod owners alone,anyone can sign
up,pay and download songs in mp3 format. And if the album cover-art and
inlay cover is made available as well,thats more reason for people to
sign up.

the movie AH AAH, but the lyrics of that song looks as if that it is 
written to showcase the comeback of ARR. Phrases like "Aadiaan

full of Charanam showcases the fact.
After a long time we have got a ARR song which makes us to get up 
early in the morning especially to hear the song that too repeatedly.

[arr] ARR to compose Music for Bharat Bala's Next

Hey Guyz,
yesterday in Seattle,as part of the Seattle International Film
Festival,there was a Screening of Bharat Bala's movie HARI OM. After
the movie,there was a Question-answer session,and I was there as part
of the audience. Bharath Bala was talking about his next project, I do
not remember the exact details,but it was gonna be set in Kerala,about
a Japanese Woman living there,and a Korean Johnny-Depp kind-of Hero.
I asked him if ARR is gonna do the music.
And He said "Yes,AR Rahman is going to compose the music for that film".

I dont see how that can be justified as plagiarism..Since the subject
deals with the life of Netaji and the INA saga, the Kadam Kadam song
has to be in its original tune...how could that constitute copyin
?...if we extended your point of argument, then Jana Gana Mana and
Vande Mataram would also fall under the same category,wouldnt it ?~

I give in that the song is historically important, and the 
original tune had to be retained for authenticity. But, 
technically, it is still an outright copy. Cassette does 
show any credits to any original writer/composer.
