I read somewhere, when WATER wasnt released yet, that when ARRR was asked
regarding which album of his would he rate the most and why. So ARR replied
that he would rate 10 / 10 WATER, coz its close to his heart.
So its one of the most fav. of ARR too.

This song is really cool. I am amazed that none of our mates is able to
trace the fusion of qawwali in the bhangra and that sounds to be something
innovative to me, and the lyrics really match up with the bhangra-qawwali
duo. superb number.

Yes definately it has to be the way, even it happend to me same when i
started listening to Rahman bhai's songs and my family used to say what is
getting you so much mad with his music, there are various others who are
doing good work , so i used to say, you will never understand the love
between the fish and water :). and would also joke with them saying that
there are only 2 wise persons, one you already know and the second one i
dont need to mention :).
Same used to happen with my friends, they used to say, Rahman is a medicore
musician and all his songs sounds similar in every fashion. I would say i
dont bother about all your opinions or comments, coz you do most of your
80% work repitative (eg. eating food, walking, and other stuff etc :) )
though Rahman is not the same as you as far as Music is concerned. And many
used to just pull my leg off complaining about Rahman bhai's music and songs
just for fun, but i used to take it much seriously and i was the kind of not
ready to hear any sarcastic comments about Rahman bhai, coz i used to and
still consider him as my own elder brother :).

Divine power works in mysterious ways

 [image: facewall]  *[image: busy] A
R Rahm..  **Offline ** *

 Music is my means of connecting with the divine.

*Source: Indiatimes Spirituality
Column by Rahman (as told toAtul Sethi)

Music is my means of connecting with the divine. What cannot be put into
words, can be expressed through music. When one listens to music, one closes
one’s eyes because music is an expression and celebration of the divine.

There are countless names of God, which we cannot utter simultaneously, but
through a soulful composition, we can experience the whole power of God’s
presence amidst us.

When I was composing for my first film Roja, I often went into a spiritual
vacuum where nothing else mattered except the music. At those times, I felt
connected with a supreme power. That is why I credit whatever success has
come my way to the Almighty. I feel that the power and grace of the divine
is infinite - it is we human beings who create boundaries and try to limit
this power.

For artists, I believe that this manifests itself in the form of inspiration
which helps you create something wonderful. I often work through the night
because that is when I feel closest to the divine.

The divine power works in a mysterious way to offer you experiences, which
enrich and make you a better person. As a composer, I have often felt that
life’s experiences - both good and bad - have greatly added to my
compositions.

My belief in Sufism has helped me emerge as a stronger person and has given
me the equanimity to view life objectively. Often, when I visit a dargah, I
feel a sense of peace enveloping me. I also believe in the power of prayer.
I had an occasion to experience it for myself, when my daughter was
diagnosed with a hole in her heart when she was born.

However, by the time she was two, the hole vanished without any operation.
It was considered nothing short of a miracle. I believe it happened because
of the power of prayer. If one is sincere, no prayer goes unanswered.

  *Bollywood´s Reactions to A.R.Rahman´s and Resul Pookutty´s Amazing Oscar
Wins As ´Slumdog Millionaire´ Emerges Victorious At The 81st Academy Awards*

http://planetbollywood.com/displayArticle.php?id=s022309124655

 --
The industry reacts with pride and gratification after A.R.Rahman collects
the ultimate prize for his multi award winning musical score for Slumdog
Millionaire (including one for his sound engineer, Resul Pookutty). Below
are just a sample of the reactions received so far...

 *Vishal Dadlani:*

"I feel proud as an Indian, and i feel proud as a musician. Rahman,
Gulzaarsaab,and Resul have opened the floodgates for our aspirations.
Previously, an Oscar was an almost unimaginable reward. Now, i hope that a
lot of us are going to raise our game, put ourselves in the right place at
the right time, and give it an honest go. Rahman as always, ... Read
Moreleads from the front! Congratulations to all of them, and
congratulations to the Oscars for further enhancing their credibility, by
honouring the very best Indian talent in each department. I hope for many
more Oscars for them, and even more for India."

 *
Sowmya Raoh:*

“First of all, many congratulations to Rahmanji, Gulzar saab, and Resul
Pookutty. ARR said, he had a choice between love and hate, he chose Love,
and that's whey he's there today. I think it quite sums up why this world is
what it is today. It's upto us to choose, every time. Choose good work, good
films, good music…encourage all that's good. I think these talented men have
paved the way, and just like in Slumdog Millionaire, given hope to many
others. Yes, we can, too... Jai ho.”

*Onir:*

“It makes me very happy to see behind the scene people from India getting
International recognition. Rahman has always been a phenomena and this only
increases his reach. I am especially happy about Resul, not only because we
all belonged to a group who started off together and have done television in
the beginning of our careers together and is a friend whose success I am
happy about, but because technical award for an Indian means a lot. And, it
will also bring more focus to an area not given its due back home.”

*Krishna Beura:*

“It’s been an ambition for me to sing for Mr. A.R. Rahman because I think
singing for Mr. A.R. Rahman is just like a Pilgrimage. Means if one does not
do it his life as a singer is a waste. One does not get "moksha," if he has
not sung for him…It’s like Jiwe Panjabi wich kehnde san, "Jinne Lahore nahi
vekheya oh jammeya nai."

Well, I think as Rahman Sahab is so, so, so great, I believed and prayed to
Sai Baba for him and Rasool bhai to win the Oscars…I think any award in the
whole universe is also less to judge Mr. Rahman's brilliance. India is
really proud of him…He is a true "Bharat Ratna.”

"Rasool Bhai, I still remember the Zinda premiere in Pune when we met for
the first time in FTI premises near the pond, in the late evening, having
Breezer…I told you that you would win Oscars one day, and I hope you
remember...Anyways, you are an idol for the talented youth living in small
villages, like you were once…Now they know how to reach out to the world.
God Bless…Love always.”

 *Amit Trivedi:*

"To start with, this is an honor to be able to voice my good wishes for
Rahman sir on this platform. I have followed his work right from Roja to
Delhi 6 and I personally feel that Slumdog Millionaire is great work however
not his best. Having said that, I also feel that Slumdog Millionaire is the
Oscar he deserves for all the brilliant work he has done so far. And the
success of this magnitude that has come to him after 16 years is very, very
well deserving. Rahman sir has put Indian musicians on the global map. We
are proud of him.

With Resul Pookutty winning the Oscar, it is encouraging for our Indian
technicians and will definitely boost their morale. I am happy for the
entire team of Slumdog Millionaire and my heartiest congratulations to them.
They have made us proud."

 *Hansal Mehta:*

 “The Oscars are an assertion that technicians from India are as good as any
in the world. I feel particularly happy for Resul who I've had the
opportunity of working with in my past films. His obsession with perfection
is exemplary and I felt a great sense of pride while he held centre-stage at
the ceremony. Way to go, Resul! I sincerely hope we recognize his worth back
home and give him and other brilliant technicians like him their worth.

 Rahman of course is a true genius and a very precious son of this great
country. I hope this award draws the world's attention to his other gems. My
only regret was that Gulzar saab was not there at the ceremony. Ever since
Gulzar saab has been a part of Rahman's music, Dil Se, if I'm not mistaken,
this genius has scaled greater heights. Gulzar saab has lent soul to
Rahman's heart.

 Slumdog Millionaire has proven that money well-spent can never go waste.
Rather than splurging money on paying stars we should focu

NRIs gushing with pride as India shines at Oscars

A R Rahman's twin victory at the Oscars as also an Academy Award for 'Smile
Pinky' has Indians in the US gushing with pride as they watched their
homeland shining at the biggest award night in movie world.

'Slumdog Millionaire', that had been raking in all major international
awards, completed its victory lap yesterday as it swept 8 Academy Awards,
including two for Rahman and a gold statuette each for lyricist Gulzar and
sound technician Resul Pookutty.

"It is a big year for India at the Oscars. For Indians staying abroad, it is
a matter of immense pride when something that represents India gets
recognition at such a global scale," Sangeeta Singh, assistant director at a
New York City school said.

India has been trying to make a mark at the Oscars for a long time now and
did it this year - from Rahman's performance, the Indian dance and music to
the child actors of 'Slumdog Millionaire' and 'Smile Pinky', Singh added.

She said Rahman's music has been widely accepted in the US and Americans
recognise Indian music more through his work.

Congratulating Rahman, city-based entrepreneur Mamta Anand said the music
maestro was the show stealer at awards night and "we are extremely proud of
his achievement."

India and Bollywood ruled the roost in the media coverage of the 81st Annual
Academy Awards as Americans woke up to pictures of Slumdog's excited child
actors flanked by Rahman, Anil Kapoor, Irrfaan Khan, Danny Boyle, Frieda
Pinto and Dev Patel splashed across newspapers and the internet.

The headline of a ‘Chicago Tribune’ story on Slumdog read, "A passage to
India", with the article going on to read, "The rollicking wish-fulfillment
yarn Slumdog Millionaire, nearly dumped into the marketplace last year as a
direct-to-DVD offering, fulfilled its destiny at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre".

‘ABC’ News had this to say of "the show stealer" Slumdog - "After winning
the hearts of moviegoers around world, 'Slumdog Millionaire', a buoyantly
hopeful romance set amid the poverty of Mumbai, India, won the Academy Award
for best picture, capping a night of wins including the best director Oscar
for Danny Boyle".

An article in the Chicago 'Suntimes' said Slumdog's win would give the same
"feeling of elevation" to India as the November 4 election of President
Barack Obama gave to his hometown Chicago.

"... There must have been cheering in the streets of Mumbai. As one
'Slumdog' winner after another came to the podium, I imagine some Indians
felt elevation similar to that experienced by Chicagoans during the Grant
Park telecast on the night of November 4. Did you notice how many of the
Slumdog winners were Indians? Nice that Anil Kapoor was in the room. And all
the kids worked the red carpet like seasoned pros".

‘CNN’ quoted film critic with Film Journal International Frank Lovece as
saying, "International cinema comes in cycles in the United States. Now, it
is Bollywood's time".

It said "The film is a celebration of India -- from the slums to the Taj
Mahal.. It pays homage to Bollywood by incorporating many of the industry's
norms -- vibrant colors, fast-paced editing, a fairy-tale love story and a
feel-good musical dance ending".

Further, it quoted Gene Newman, editorial director at ‘Premiere.com’ as
saying, "Slumdog is the reason why people go to the movies. It is the whole
package. It is an incredible story ... and it makes you feel good."

'Slumdog Millionaire' is East meeting West, Bollywood meeting Hollywood,
read another 'CNN' article.

[arr] From Rukmani to Jai ho

2009-02-24 Thread Moin Ul Haque
 Not sure if this is posted earlier. Old article after the Golden globe win.
---From Rukmani to Jai ho

 *Allah Rakha Rahman’s* journey is no less incredible than that of the
protagonist of Slumdog Millionaire. From a South Indian regional composer
with a National award for his debut film 16 years back, Rahman has now won
three nominations at the Oscars for his songs in a mainstream Hollywood film

*1966:* On January 6, A.S.Dileep Kumar is born to R.K.Shekhar,
composer-arranger in Malayalam films. His father passes away when Dileep is
just nine. The family subsists on hiring out musical equipment to leading
composers.

*1977:* Rahman joins Ilayaraja as keyboardist after training with Master
Dhanraj. He also plays for M. S. Viswanathan and Ramesh Naidu and with Zakir
Hussain, Kunnakudi Vaidyanathan and L. Shankar on world tours and soon
obtains a scholarship from the Trinity College of Music in London, where he
graduates with a degree in Western Classical music.

*1989:* The family converts to Islam and the boy is renamed Allah Rakha
Rahman. Rahman becomes a keyboard player and arranger in the band Roots with
childhood friend A.Sivamani. He is the founder of the rock band Nemesis
Avenue and also plays keyboard, piano, the synthesizer, harmonium and
guitar.

*1991:* Rahman starts a recording studio in his house and starts composing
for jingles and television serials.

*1992:* Mani Ratnam, who has been watching Ilayaraja’s assistant, gives him
an independent break with Roja, the original Tamil film. A new style of
music is introduced and in a first-time feat later equalled only by Ismail
Darbar with the Hindi film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, bags the National Award
for a debut score, the first of four.

*1993:* Roja is dubbed in Hindi and as it sweeps the charts, led by Dil hai
chhota sa and the “item” song Rukmani Rukmani, Roja also brings into focus
the hitherto-neglected talent of singer Hariharan, who is suddenly
considered chart-friendly! With this score, Rahman forever changes the
future of Hindi film music.
His Tamil chartbuster that year is Thiruda Thiruda.

*1994-1995:* Two films of Rahman are dubbed in Hindi - his hit Kaadhalan as
Humse Hai Muqabala and Bombay. More importantly, several music directors
officially (The Gentleman) and otherwise (Angrakshak, Sabse Bada Khiladi et
al) pilfer his Tamil hits.
Duet, Indira and Muthu are his Tamil hits that year. And Rahman gets his
first international honour - the Mauritius National award in 1995.
In late 1995, Rahman writes history all over again with his debut original
Hindi film, Rangeela. Asha Bhosle returns to high-tide with Yai re and Tanha
tanha after a lull.

*1996:* More of Rahman’s films are dubbed, with indifferent results except
for Hindustani (Indian).
But the Tamil scenario is still upbeat with Love Birds and Kadhal Desam.
Rahman also scores the background music for his first crossover film Fire.
And Minsaara Kanavu wins Rahman his second National award.

*1997:* Sapnay, the dubbed version of the 1996 hit marks the debut of singer
KK with Strawberry aankhen, a top name today, and the breakthrough of Hema
Sardesai with Awara bhanwre. It begins his long association with Javed
Akhtar.
Sony Music (now Sony-BMG) signs Rahman as their first-ever South Asian
artiste for the hit album Vande Mataram.
The Tamil hits include Iruvar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s debut.

*1998:* The composer storms the charts with Mani Ratnam’s first original
Hindi film, Dil Se…, ending the struggle of singer Sukhwinder Singh with
Chal chhaiyya chhaiyya, and the singer’s association with him will now peak
with the Oscar nomination for Jai ho from Slumdog Millionaire. The same is
true of his journey with Gulzar, whose best phase as a top lyricist begins.
The film also features his first song with Lata Mangeshkar, Jiya jale. Also
released this year is Jeans.

*1999:* Rahman finally makes a proper pan-Indian breakthrough with Subhash
Ghai’s Taal, a musical love story that wins him his first Screen award. In
the same year, Deepa Mehta’s Earth is released in Hindi as 1947 with a
highly-appreciated, underrated but not-too-popular score. These two films
cement his association with Ghai and Anand Bakshi (till his death in 2002),
Javed Akhtar and Aamir Khan.
He also tours Germany with Michael Jackson in the Michael Jackson & Friends
Concert.

*2000:* Rahman scores his first home production of a Mumbai hero - Anil
Kapoor, in Pukar. This is also the first of his only two films with Phalke
laureate lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri.
The Tamil side is noted for Kandukondain Kandukondain and Thenali.

*2001:* Lagaan, Aamir Khan’s first film, wins him the National Best Music
award for the first time for a Hindi film. Careful observers term this his
most accomplished score in Hindi till then.

*2002:* Saathiya makes the industry take note of Kunal Ganjawala with O
humdum suniyo re. There is also an evocative score in The Legend Of Bhagat
Singh.

[arr] Oscars to A R Rahman bring smile on Atal's face

 Oscars to A R Rahman bring smile on Atal's face

The golden run of 'Slumdog Millionaire' at the Oscars and A R Rahman's
double win brought smiles on the face of ailing former prime minister Atal
Bihari Vajpayee who watched the awards at the AIIMS' ICU and even gestured
to the staff to have a look at the television.

"He pointed towards the television when Rahman went on stage to receive the
award and there was a broad smile on his cherubic face," said an attending
doctor requesting anonymity.

The doctor said 84-year-old Vajpayee's eyes were glued to the television
when Rahman crooned 'Jai ho' and 'O saya' on the Kodak Theater stage.

"He could not speak because of tracheotomy but his excitement was visible
when he signalled me to come and look at the screen as the award was given
to Rahman. He even gestured to all the staff present in the ICU to have a
look at the television," he said.

The veteran leader has shown immense improvement since he was admitted at
AIIMS following complaints of chest infection which was later diagnosed to
be pneumonia. He underwent tracheotomy on February 13 to ease the
respiration process and avoid any infection.

Vajpayee continues to remain stable but doctors have advised to keep him in
ICU till he starts taking solid food. He has been fed through pipes as the
"tracheotomy" tube does not allow him to take food orally.

"It is medical rule that the tracheotomy tube is kept for three weeks. He is
now able to sit and somebody reads out the newspapers to him. He also
listens to old film music and watches television as well," the doctor said.

"We have kept TV, music system in the ICU and made all the permissible
arrangements which suit his interest. He is recovering well. The chest
infection has also been resolved," said Sampath Kumar, head of CTVS centre
and one of the treating doctors.

Re: [arr] Does Rahman get enough credit for his melodies?

2009-02-13 Thread Moin Ul Haque
Very truely said Chord, Vithur and Arvind.I still cannot get away from the
song "Kismat Se tum Humko Mile ho" from Pukar. It is such a soothing melody,
which always reminds me of Naushad sahab's compositions in Baiju Bawra.
Though it may not be correct, but as per my understanding, that composition
stands in hand to hand as far as melody and glory is concerned to me.

Re: [arr] What is the meaning of "Panchathan" ?

2009-02-11 Thread Moin Ul Haque
Panjatan (Panchatan) is very much holy over here.As usually its said as
Panch(five) Panjatan.
These are the 5 holy and much prominent figures in Islam (with reference to
Shia Islam).

Hazrat Prophet Mohammed [SAW]
Hazrat Bibi Syeda Fatima [R.A] (Prophet's (SAW) Daughter, wife of Hazrat Ali
[R.A] and mother of Imam Hasan [R.A]. and Imam Hussein [R.A])
Hazrat Ali [R.A] (Prophet's (SAW) cousin brother and his son-in-law, husband
of Bibi Syeda Fatima [R.A] and father of Imam Hasan [R.A] and Imam Hussein
[R.A] )
Imam Hasan [R.A] (Grandson of Prophet (SAW) and elder son of Hazrat Ali
[R.A.] and Bibi Syeda Fatima [R.A] )
Imam Hussein [R.A] (Grandson of Prophet (SAW) and youngest son of Hazrat
Ali [R.A.] and Bibi Syeda Fatima [R.A] and younger brother to Imam Hasan
[R.A]. who was as martyr in the battle at Karbala and in whose rememberance
the 10th Day of Moharram is celebrated as Martyr's Day)

Hope this makes sense in ARR's thoughts of spirituality and this seems to be
the name given by his spiritual teacher Arif Malik (AM),
This is according to me what i take Panchatan as, which makes more sense.

Thanks

i do agree for what you said bro.

Please clear my doubts, are any awards related to hindi films given away for
any dubbed movies from other languages.As far as i know, they only consider
the original hindi language film, especially Filmfare folks, thatz the
reason, Roja was not in the nomination list for best music/hindi film,
neither humse hai muqabla, hindustani, etc, though they were a hit at box
office.

Please clear my doubts regarding this.

Deepa Mehta has recently released her new movie named as "Heaven on Earth"
starring Preity Zinta and Music by Mychael Danna.Not Sure if "Exclusion" has
been renamed to "Komagata Maru" but its for sure that its based on the
Komagata Maru incident that occured in canada. But hope so that Music is by

I agree with rayrai, Rahman bhai for the RDB award as a newcomer for the
film Rangeela and not for Roja.Also Rahman won the best score award for film
Rangeela. And its the time when RDB awards were given away to the new
budding composers for their initial extra-ordinary work in the field of
music.

Re: [arr] Yuvvraaj is too good.

2009-02-04 Thread Moin Ul Haque
Dil ka Rishta you can probably refer as to the grandeur of Romans, or like
the sultanat of the Moghuls.Rahman bhai is the true Music Moghul of our era.
I doubt if any composer can surpass Dil Ka Rishta in terms of orchestra,
melody, rhythm, arrangement, vocals. Its hitting a bulls eye at one single
shot.
Ghai sahab is lucky to have this song for him, but resulted in a complete
disaster with the movie. Feel such a pity on such great compositions.

I did listened to the song again and i guess you are referring to lines sang
after

"basti rang de, hasti rang de hans hans rang de, nas nas rang de"

And he is surely singing

"Bachpan rang de, Joban Rang De". (Sorry instead of Joban i wrote Yauvan.)

He definately sounds like singing pachpan(55) and chauvan(54), but if we
listen with a keen ear, there is a little brisk which will definately clear
your doubt.

Apart from the above lines, i didnt found anything sounding like that.

Hope it is clear now.

Thanks

Re: [arr] My love for Yuvvraaj continues to grow

2009-02-02 Thread Moin Ul Haque
Even the picturisation of the songs would have been much better. Especially
i feel sad about Tu Meri Dost hai. Such a beautiful melody having
picturised very badly, which is a pity. Dont know what to say about Mr.
Ghai's creativeness on this.
But yes Yuvvraaj is a great album with the gems well weaved within itself.
and Dil Ka Rishta, wo what a gr88 composition and lyrics. I really
love the songs. It feels much more royal and respectful while hearing.

Re: [arr] Fw: News for Gujju Fan of Rahman- Rahman @ Rajkot

2009-01-28 Thread Moin Ul Haque
Friends
I have tried to translate the article . Please forgive me if there are any
mistakes in the translation. I have tried to grab everyword to get it into
English. Though the letters were so small and some were not even easy to
identify. Anyways here is my attempt.

He is Genious but he is sooo simple. While he is working in the studio at
that time he doesnt feels to go to someone,
but once the job is completed he seems to be in a relaxing mood and though
it may be a small technician or a big artist,
he counts and treats everyone with an equal eye. "After all Rahman is Rahman
Yaar". No one living in Mumbai or Chennai
does have this quality like him.

This is a story of a young lad from Rajkot who worked very closely with A R
Rahman for 4 years. Gaurav of Rajkot
utters that though Rahman has been awarded the Golden Globe but his is not
surprised with it. I beleive he got this
respect very late.I have seen him working since these years and he mostly
works during the night hours.

Rahman is a person who clears out everything, . He would come down to
the studio and explains us the things whatever he wants. He is a kind of
person who will compose the song and record it on the tape in the way that
no one can imagine that. Rahman doesnt have a wavering mind at all. If he
needs the voice or roar of a lion, he wont compromise and will get the
original. "He is very clear about it, whatever he wants".

He calls his artist even if the music piece is mere half a minute.
I have seen him conducting an orchestra with 100 lions. (I am not sure about
this line if i have read it clearly, Viral please forgive me if i have read
it wrong ).
If he is in a good mood then he even orders a paan full of gulkand (made
with rose petals and sugar). In 2001 Rahman
did setup a system named Euphonic Pup Kangol (Cant read the name properly
from the article). When it was delivered he himself got down from his house
and we were standing. Meanwhile he called me and put his hand on my
shoulders and slided a 500 rupee note in my pocket. whenever he is happy he
gives money in such manner to his fellow collegues.

 Though there may be lots of fans of A R Rahman who may be emailing him and
writing letter, but Gaurav Bhupendrabhai Vasavda has lived in the studio of
Rahman and used to design the rhythem loops from his computer.

>From Gujarat there may be only 3-4 guys who are the witness of Rahman's
personal and professional life and Gaurav is one amongst them. Gaurav was
alongwith Rahman during the music making of films like Lagaan, Zubeida,
Legend of Bhagatsingh etc. And Gaurav has also got the credit for these
films. Gaurav was the interpreter to Rahman during the music making of
Nayak when a troup of singers were called from Rajasthan.

degree on the life and Music of A R Rahman. Rahman bhai is a man beyond
words and imagination. He has taken some special place in my heart next to
GOD ALMIGHTY, prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and my family.

The days are not far when someone studying ARTS will say that he has a
Doctorate degree on A R Rahman's life.

Inshah ALLAH Rahman bhai will have the pride of his family (we his country
mates) in his hands in the form of OSCAR. Though OSCARS may sound a very
small amount of appreciation in terms his human nature and talent as Rahman
bhai is not at all a man of this materialistic world (today's era) but he is
a man of true divinity which doesnt needs such appreciations. He has already
been awarded the best in his life by ALLAH ALMIGHTY with strong willing
power, strong commitment, strong faith, strong divinity, full of
spirituality and many more qualities which tend the humans to have a reason
to live on this earth.

Thanks everyone and do pray that our Rahman bhai triumphs in every race,
where he is a part of it.

ALLAH HAFIZ

If you loose concentration in your studies, then its possible that you may
forget to pray for our Rahman bhai also.
We need to pray to the ALMIGHTY with a pure heart, strong determination,

There are few corrections and additions to the list
(Only Tamil and Hindi songs):

I. Following singers have sung more than one song:

1. ANUPAMA has sung many songs for ARR like
"kuch bhi na socho" and "Poovukenna" from Bombay;
"Maaro maaro" from Boys;
"Chandralekha" from Chor Chor;
"Sandhipoma", "Kama kama" from Enakku 20 Unakku 18;
"Love Theme" from Jeans;
"Hello Doctor" from Kaadhal Desam & Duniya dilwalon
ki;
"Ye ye ennachu" from Kaadhal Virus;
"signore" from Kannathil Muthamittal;
"If you wanna" from New;
"July madham" from Pudhiya Mugam
"Spirit of Rangeela", "Aiyaiyoh Kanavaa" from
Rangeela;
"Mercury pookkal" from Ratchakan;
"Sundara en sundara" from Super Police;
"I wanna be free" from Tehzeeb;
"Jaan tum ho meri" from Vishwavidhaata

2. MINMINI
"Saagar se milane ke liye" from Humse Hain Muqabla;
"Paarkathe" from Gentleman;
"Indiraiyo ival" & "Kaatru Kudhirayille" from
Kaadhalan;
"Satten aden thattu nenjam" (BGM) from Kannathil
Muthamittal;
"Pachakili" from Karuthammaa;
"Killigal Rendu" from Manidha Manidha;
"Eduda antha" from Pudhiya Manargal;
"Sambo sambo" from Pudhiya Mugam;
"Chhoti si asha" & "Chinna chinna aasai" from Roja;
"Chithirai" from "Vandi Cholai Chinrasu"

3. P. SUSEELA
"Meettu podu" from Duet;
"Kannamma" from Indian;
"Azhagu" from Pudhiya Mugam;

BTW "Poo koodiyan" from Iruvar is sung by Sandhya.

4. RINA BHARDWAJ
"Baba kichu kichu" from Baba;
"Main vaari vaari" from Mangal Pandey;
"Aaha thamizhamma" from Kangalal Kaithu Sai;
"Yeh rishta" from Meenaxi

5. ABHIJEET (Not Abhishek!!!)
(I simply hate this guy after reading whatever he
said in the Filmfare magazine last year about ARR...)
"Ae naazneen suno na" from Dil Hi Dil Me;
"Chidiya tu hoti to" from Nayak;
"Teri meri baat" from Sapney

II. I am not sure whether Bhattacharya (one who sang
"Jack n Jill") and Surjo Bhattacharya (one who sang
"Dhim da dare" from Thakshak) is the same person or
not. If both are same then he has sung couple of
songs. But I guess both are same person.

III. Kumar Sanu has sung only one song for ARR and
that is "Mil gayi" from Kabhi Na Kabhi. Hindi version
of "Mel isaiaye" from Mr. Romeo is sung by SPB.

IV. "Naramugaye" from Iruvar is sung by Bombay
Jayashree only and it's her only song for ARR. It's
not by Nithyashree.
