We can say that this is not their cup of tea, but these comments hurts. Had these songs been in any other movie it would have been called class. I had a thought for sometime that Boss should not have done Ghajini. But still our Boss Rocks No other MD can even think of a song like Behka and Kaise Mujhe. The logic behind calling Sharada was that in the film Sankara Bharanam, Somyajulu used to say ' Sharada , Sharada to the singer, who didn;t sing as per the shruti, . ARR was influenced by that and he used to follow that stye. ( THIS WAS QUOTED BY RAIHANA ). At the time of Hello Mr. Edirkatchi, Vairamuthu Maniratnam were also present in the studio, and both encouraged her a lot . TIPPU 'S STRENGTH AND ENCOURAGEMENT :- As all may be aware, Singer Tippu is her husband, and they both met in a concert, and fell in love and married. At home, they hear the cassettes that they sing, practice before recording and before stage shows. But do not make a habit to discuss only music always. About 10hrs - they either listen to reviews of their music from fans, and what others say abt their singing. But Tippu has been very encouraging. As he knows the entire process of recording, the time mismatching that happens, both of them have been comfortable with each other's profession. She also says that the support that she gets from her in - laws has made her flourish in her music career. The pace and force in the song Balle Leikka made me write this e-mail. It is definitely an amazing stunner by ARR. It is definitely going to Rock the listeners, channels, FMs etc. Though there have been comments saying that it is to suit the latest trend or has similarities with Thaam Thakka song, it clearly has the Rahman Class. There is absolutely no doubt about it. Just listen to the strings support at the back-ground. That will speak the class of ARR. Wow !!! And we should also mention the good lyrics and astounding performance by SPB !!!. The phrase Sattena Sollu placed throughout the song is an intersting aspect in this song. First ARR asked him back ' the music or the video?' the guy said ' specially video but the song has also touch of Michael Jackson'. then what ARR said, i guess everyone in the group already knows. then i raised my hand for the mike. Oh My God!
Everyone's getting me wrong...I never said RDB is
mediocre or bad...If you see my review, I've said and
still maintain that it is a great album...
Well, everyone of us know that ARR's albums grow on us
after some time...so we all know that after 1-2 weeks
of RDB's release, we are all going to say it's one of
his best...or the best even...but the real charm in a
review or the success of the album will come out only
when we have a camouflage of thoughts right from day-1
- could be even from the same person at different
points in time...
I'd rather not write my review after 2 weeks bcoz i'm
sure i'm going to feel RDB is the best...but the
thrill and excitement I (or for that matter, anyone
else) gets in writing the 'first-hand review' cannot
be compared to anything...it's like, Come on, I got
the CD and listened to it a couple of times...Now let
me tell the world what I felt about it..never mind
even if I have to change my opinion after 2
weeks...You know, it's this kind of comments and
feelings that add to the excitement and the spirit of
listening...
If you still want to get me wrong, please do so .. :-)

Folks, Just managed to get my copy of RDB today...and well, it's starting to grow on me as i'm listening to it the second time..(it's 3.45 am now..!) well, i just want to keep my comments short and crisp..here you go... ~ A welcome different attempt by Boss(ARR), in a style and compilation not heard from him before...simply puts the rest of the composers to dust... without an air of doubt, ARR simply is THE BEST amongst his contemporaries ... ~ Nice acoustics, esp. with the instrumentals and interludes ~ With due credit to ARR and each one of you, this is not an all-time hit (in the likes of Roja, Taal...)...but definitely a contemporary hit, and will be a chartbuster in the days to come ~ 'Tu Bin Bataaye' is the pick of the album to me (so far)...Madhushree is absolutely flawless.. slightly reminesces of some 60s, 70s melodies, but the comparison ends there...it's truly ARR beyond that... ~ Roo Baa Roo gets me to visualise the 'Dil Chahtha Hai' song in front of my eyes (all 3 guys driving their Merc to Goa)...got to wait and see if it does have any similarity in visuals/situation when the movie gets released...the guitar lead-in background to the song gives it a touch of the early 80s ... shall get you more of my review after a few more rounds of listening! So far I heard Ah Ahh five times.. (Non Stop). I agree that it is quiet different from him earlier albums. The beats are quiet different and good. Melody is there but not mesmerizing. Also feel that most of the songs are remix of some old songs. I STRONGLY feel that it has bits and pieces of old movie songs. IMO, Not a GREAT album. Varugirai song is only one that interested me somewhat. Started out great.. at charanam it lost its groove.
