[arr] Yuvvraaj in Hyderabad
Hi all, The common expectations among my friends circle is tht Yuvvraaj is going to another dud from Ghai's stable. They just dont care who really is the powerhouse of the movie i.e. A R Rahman. So I went alone today for advance bookings in Adlabs ( now BIG cinemas ). I spent the whole day at the counter asking them when they will start giving tickets. They told me tht the booking starts at 4 pm ( the papers gave me a different story altogether ). I go there at 4 and they tell me that they are not issuing them today. When asked the reason, they tell us ( mostly sallu's fans, i was a minority there ) that they are not sure abt the picture being released tomorrow and they have some problem with the distributors. At the end, they tell us to come tomorrow. I was deeply pained by this treatment. When public perception is against the movie, we, who have gone to support the venture are treated this way. Guys, Let's have an insight into our music tastes. Go deep into the psyche ad come out with one song you consider to be purely divine in nature. It could be any song and it is also very personal. Often Rahman says that the song comes from above and that he is just an instrument. So let me start of this discussion with my personal favourite MUNBE VAA ( SILLUNU ORU KADHAL ) I know it is many of your favourites. Well, it is not mine. It is not just my favourite, rather i would say it is my lifeline. The more I listen to this song, the more I feel rejuvenated. Till today I consider this song straight from heavens where I imagine the gandharvas playing in the skies and that Rahman has brought this for the earthlings. No matter how much I write about this song, I feel empty. I like to speak about this song, listen to this song and devour this brilliance. Last week a north Indian friend of mine comes up to me and asks for this song. Being a bit possessive about this song, I was reluctant to share in the beginning. But the divine nature of this song caught up in me and pushed me into passing the song to him. Such is the power of this song. My friend, who doesnt have any idea of tamil, is taken aback by the composition. I am only glad to exlplain the lyrics and the situation in the movie. Hi all A decade ago doli saja ke rakhna was released which was a remake of kathalin mariyathai which again was a remake of a malayalam movie. The malayalam version had music by ousepachan which was much ahead of the time. The music is one of his best works. The tamil version had music by maestro ilayaraaja. Personally i was not bowled over by the music.( I know tamilians would be offended by this statement)...Then came the hindi version by our own BOSS... That version would be the ultimate... The perfect composition for the situations. I liked the movie(although it bombed).u must note here that he surpassed the maestro in the compositions... Iruvar is Rahman's best film ever made. I haven't come across a movie that surpasses its brilliance. I have a DVD copy of it and God knows how many times i have watched the movie. My mom scolds me asking how many times i would watch this. For me it is a movie to cherish for a lifetime. The best song, according to me, would be Poo Kodiyin.First of all it is sung by P Suseela's daughter (Wonder whr she disappeared)... it sounded very much like Suseela amma. And the lyrics by Vairamuthu is simple yet lovely. This undoubtedly is among the best composition of A R Rahman. I was terribly upset to hear that GODFATHER is releasing on Feb 24. How can this happen to a RAHMAN movie?? His music needs time to reach the masses and one week isn't enough. My wish is to release the movie on April 14 and there is no doubt that then the film is going to be a hit. The producers are making a serious mistake by its early release. hi rahamaniacs, i really think that shreya's voice won't suit our boss' style. her's is too sweet a voice. she is better with songs of new music composers. Rahman's ideal female voices are always distinct.
