In an interview to Time, AR said that there was actually a different love
song composed initially for Latika which wasn't used in the movie. He also
said he would use that song in his personal album. Also, through one of the
KM student, long back I heard that there are different versions of PFMB with
completely different rap by Blaaze.
Would like to know will these be released under KM label...Also, is there
any personal album of AR coming up soon?

Rashid Ali is quite senior in AR troupe & is from Hyderabad. AR 
met him first somewhere abroad. AR shared this & some more info while 
introducing RA to audience during UOL in hyderabad. Anyone confirm? 
That part of clip is missing in youtube. This is just a turning point for

I donno whether she has participated in Saregamapa 2005. But I am damn sure 
that she has participated as a part of the band (I don't remember the band name 
correctly!) in Ooh Lalala which was featured in Sun TV last year. It had ARR as 
the judge. Y I am saying this is bcoz I saw her sing along with Naresh Iyer in 
Vijay TV few days back. She had sung Valayappati Thavile from ATM. 

Also, I heard that in Farah Khan's next film Amanat Ali of Saregamapa Challenge 
2007 will sing under ARR's composition. I donno if its a rumour but I'm waiting 
to get a concrete news on it.

I had a couple of questions, please chime in if anybody knows.

1. Re: ATM - Couple of songs have been credited to Ujjaini.  Is this
the same Ujjaini from Saregampa Challenge 2005?  Because, if it is
then it's great to know that Rahman is tapping in the talent emerging
from these competitions.  I would love to see Rahman give opportunity
to Mauli, Sumedha or Amanat from SRGMP C2007.

Hindi?  I seriously hope they rope in Javed Akthar sahab or Prasoon
Joshi for lyrics.  A lot of dubbed albums have suffered the fate of

songs hold their own.  Whoever has done the Remix of Ponmagal, has
done a great job.  But the tortoise of the album, which has slowly and
steadily won the race of winning my heart is Kelamal Kaiyile.  I
didn't like this song in the beginning, I thought it was average, but
wow, it was just my brain trying to understand what is going on in
that song.  It has some serious experimentation - with tamil song and
subtle techo/trans beats.  Only Rahman can think, create and deliver
something like that.  

People talk about expectations from Rahman albums, having too high
expectations etc.. Honestly I do not have any expectations of Rahman.
 I'm a devotee of Rahman, and take whatever he has to offer, as a boon.

Hey Group mates,
   I have a query regarding 5.1 surround mp3 songs 
available in net from rahman's movies. I hope some of you guys might have come 
across those in arahman forum. can someone pls tell in wht respeect exactly is 
it different from the original arr soundtrack available in normal audio cd. 
Pls note that these 5.1 surround mp3 are not from the dts cds which were 
originally made by arr himself. 
If anyone of you have experienced these differences, pls share it.. :-)

only way for you to get this protected WMA file to play on your iPod is to hack 
it and convert
it to an unprotected mp3 and then copy it to your iPod via iTunes. And if you 
do that, I guess
you would obviously be violating the licensing terms.

hi mohd & ram  it was read before in article, deepa mehta herself expressing excitement abt the release of water in india during May. but the position today is there is no single OST of Water audio, we can have from authorised indian shops. Folks,     I know a friend and a singer by name Nihal who is upcoming and sang in some telugufilms. One song which became an instant hit was "Oohala pallikalo" in Chitram. The music was by RP Patnaik. Recently he sang in Jai Chiranjeeva starring Chiranjeevi and the track is Thumbs up thunder. He has a PG in classical music and is from Tamil nadu.     His dream is to sing in ARR's composition. Can anybody let me know how to get ARR's  contacts OR what is the best approach for him to accomplish his dream?     Please help an upcoming singer in this tinsel world and we all may witness probably one of the best singers in the future.     Will be waiting for an answer on this..     Take care,     Ashok.

[arr] [Semi-ARR] Query for Swaps, Vijay and others - regarding ragas

Since I do not have any knowledge of ragas, I need some help from
members that do.

It is always hard to pick out the best Rahman track ever.  If you had
to pick one Rahman song that is the best song ever, it would be very
difficult.  

But if I had to pick a non-Rahman song from all the trillion Hindi
songs I know, I would pick two songs:

1-The best RD Burman songs ever:
Song: Beeti na beetaye raina
Film: Parichay (1972)
Composer: RD Burman

   and

2-The best Jaidev song ever:
Song: Abhi na jao chodkar
Film: Hum Dono (1961)
Composer: Jaidev

I could exchange all the non-Rahman Hindi songs till date for just
these two songs.  These are some amazing, evergreen songs.  I'm sure
all the Hindi listeners would agree. 

I would just like to know what ragas these are in and if Rahman has
composed songs in these ragas. I hope I'm not asking for too much. 
Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Yes Man, what you are saying about the song 'Badal" from "yuva' was absolutely correct. I am listening to that song everyday for the past 13 months. It sounds so great when you listen to the audio version.
 
Probably our boss is making the songs so good based on the situation given by the directors. But later while making the video version, they are removing some part of the song. hence listening to the movie version would not be that good as audio.
 
I request all the directors to create the video for the complete song composed by our boss.
 
Especially this song is so good & we can listen to this upto the end of our lives.

[arr] query about Yuva song "Badal jo aaye"

Hi,

I have a question in my mindwhile listening to The "badal" song in
the movie, the recording seems to be different than the song from
audio cd.

The movie version is more casual to me, but while listening to the
audio cd the track sounded somewhat different and great.

Is it my hearing mistake? Somebody pls clarify if you know the corrcet
thing..

the site Raaga gives credit to the singer as balram
not surjo bhattacharya.. strange!! mebbe some mistake
on their part.

another thing i want say is that when i listen to this
song it gives me a feeling that if i am listening to a
old  patriotic song specially the male voice. since i
dont understand tamil, is this song a patriotic one?

the other possiblitly i thought was mebbe its an old
song from some movie and rahman as used the voice and
recreated deliberatley for this movie..

any comments?

Mayilirage. Is he the same fellow who was rejected in Samsung Super Singer 
conducted by channel V. I remember A R R inviting that guy to come down to

it 
took me 6 listenings to get that, very high scale and low volume ... create 
a unique effect from the moment u r able to distinguish both the voices 
..
but i 
cant really identify the voice :(
