[arr] Re: Non-Musical Sounds in ARR's Work

2006-01-21 Thread Tapey3
I did not know ARR did a movie called Gangmaster in Telugu, but I've
found it on raaga.com and will listen.

Meherbaan Meherbaan (Tehzeeb)- Telephone sounds

Naalai Ulagan (Love Birds)- Telephone sounds

Oh Maria (Kadhalar Dhinam)- Dial-up modem sound and telegraph sounds?

Re: [arr] Re: Non-Musical Sounds in ARR's Work

2006-01-20 Thread Ashwin Kamath

Yup this a lot of funI got some of them     + Hiccups in "Koku Saiva Koku" from Muthu   + Birds tweeting in the opening of "Kuluvalilay" from Muthu + Faint wind howling in the opening "Kaatre" song from Rhythm... + Water sounds in the opening "Kaatre" song from Rhythm...also in Karuthamma + Obviously how can one forget the train sounds which were immortalized in "Chaiyya Chaiyya" from Dil se + Crow croaks at the start of "Pettai rap" from Kadhalan     You know when I go through this list, it seems that there is this small kid inside Rehman who is always trying to freak out and break away from traditions. I guess thats why he always refers to himself as a student who is always craving for new knowledge. anuja <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote:

[arr] Re: Non-Musical Sounds in ARR's Work

2006-01-20 Thread up84mouli
Hi All...

This has been discussed MUCH earlier in some other thread. I am just
going to give few more details from it. Nothing new about it..!

1. Typewriter sound - Kaathalan - "Mukkaala Mukkabula" song.

2. Cellphone ring sound - Kaathal Virus - "Hey Hey Enna Aachu" song.

3. Water droplet sound - May Maadham - "Yen mel vizhuntha" song.

4. Water splash sound - Meenaxi - "Yeh Rishtaa" song.

5. Glass break effect - Baba - "Baba Kichu Kichu" song. In the Re-
recording, some Knife sound effects were used in a really cool way.

6. Glass break effect - Yuva/AE - "Jana Gana Mana" song.

7. Bell sound - Baba - The opening prayer song. The chorus part of
this song is believed to be a rip-off from another song.

8. Bird sounds - Kisna - "Hum hain iss pal" song. There are many
more like "May Maadham - Margazhi Poovey" also...

I am sure this will only increase.

It says that Rahman likes to work for the situations in the song
giving importance to Macro arrangements and thus enhancing the
quality of the song.

Thanks for reading.
Chandra.

Hi Anuja,     1. In the Iruvar track Unnodu Naan recited by Arvind Swami, you can hear cricket sound constantly in the background ...also there is a heavy thunder & rain sound as well as the sound of train passing by ;-)     2. Thoda Thoda from Indira : birds sounds in the beginning of the track...     3. Pacchakili from Karuthamma : sounds of chicken, cow, donkey, sheep & lots of other bird sounds...anuja <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: i love this thread and the contributions have been precious so far! i think we should create a consolidated list and put it somewhere, maybe files section??1)has anyone already mentioned the bird sounds in margarhe poove from may madham?? also

Are you sure there are actual train sounds in Chaiyya Chaiyya? I
always thought the train-esque sounds were done with drums or other
instruments.

More addiditions     1. Telephone dhun - Indian : Sounds of the traditional rice filter 2. Tanha Tanha - Rangeela : Sounds of a turbo waste gate (actually in most of his older songs) 3. Konchum nilavu : Thiruda thiruda : Sounds of glass breaking.     lots to mention I just can't seem to recall everything at once.     Jontanyaagha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: additions to the list.4.
