Re: Status Reasons for Assigned and In Progress Statuses
Hi sorry for the delay. My recommendation is to change the filter adding the status where you added the status reasons to the list of exceptions. I mean, add: AND ('Status' != Assigned) To the qualification. If you don't want to edit the OOTB filter, then you can add two filters using a jumping technique. Locate a z1d_char field the is free at this execution order. You can select the field a look the relationships to see which filters use them. check the z1d char20, for instance And the add a filter just before this, if status is assigned and status reason is not null then copy the status reason to the z chart else set the Z char to null And just after the ootb filter another filter If z char is not null then copy the z char to both the status reason and z status reason. Approval Engine Notifications
Good morning, I've been tasked with building a custom approval process. The requirement is that on Change Management, the Close Down Approval isn't to take place until at least 24 hours after the Change Request is completed. The way I was thinking of handling this would be to use a custom Process Definition (which I've already created) to use instead of the typical Close Down approvals. Since my users do approvals via email, I figure it's ok to go ahead and add them as an approver to the CRQ, but I'd like to delay the notification until 24 hours. The way I was planning to do this is to set the Signature to be due within 24 hours on the Process Definition record. Then, I would just generate a single email for when signatures are due in AP:Notification. Unfortunately, it looks like the system still sends out the initial notification, and I am waiting a little longer (I set it to one hour for testing purposes) to see if the other notification goes out. Either way, it looks like it's not working correctly. Do any of you have any suggestions for doing delayed approvals? Re: Approval Engine Notifications
In looking at the logs, it appears that my custom process is not being used, and instead the -Global- process is being used. This is strange, because I have two different custom approval phases tied to the company, both are set up correctly in the Approval Process Configuration and are using the correct Process Flow Configuration. From my perspective, this is looking like it may be a defect either in the Approval Engine or Change Management in ITSM 7.6.4. I'll continue testing a bit more but I may have to open a ticket with BMC support, which will be extremely painful because it seems like nobody in support understands how approvals work. Listers, I am currently on a Windows server with a SQL database running 7.6.04 Server, Mid-Tier and ITSM. I have in my CMDB some CI's that have support group relationships that show the access permitted as No. We did a DMT import of the Supported by relationships of most of the CI's and this maybe where the value for Access Permitted was set. I need to change this to a Yes. I was trying to find the form that the relationships were maintained in so that I can do a modify all and change them if that is possible. P.S. If I add a new Supported By relationship the Access Permitted value defaults to Yes. Thanks for the help in advance. Automating Work Order activation causes multiple task notifications
On ITSM 7.6.4, we have Work Orders and Tasks being generated by Service Requests. The users have requested that the Work Orders be activated on creation to save time (no review is necessary of them). To do this, I added a filter that looks for a flag field ('WO Type Field 30' = In Progress) and if found, sets the Status to In Progress. This is working fine, except when the Work Order has tasks attached, and those tasks are set to notify the assignee, four notifications are being generated for each task assigned. While the notifications are for the same task, the 'eid' for each is different. Here is an example of four notifications: http://aapqrmdymt04:8080/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=NTE%3aNotifierserver=AAPQREMEDY05eid=NTS2523 You have been assigned Task TAS0513 Task Type: Manual Priority: Medium Summary: Complete data entry http://aapqrmdymt04:8080/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=NTE%3aNotifierserver=AAPQREMEDY05eid=NTS2531 You have been assigned Task TAS0513 Task Type: Manual Priority: Medium Summary: Complete data entry http://aapqrmdymt04:8080/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=NTE%3aNotifierserver=AAPQREMEDY05eid=NTS2532 You have been assigned Task TAS0513 Task Type: Manual Priority: Medium Summary: Complete data entry http://aapqrmdymt04:8080/arsys/servlet/ViewFormServlet?form=NTE%3aNotifierserver=AAPQREMEDY05eid=NTS2533 You have been assigned Task TAS0513 Task Type: Manual Priority: Medium Summary: Complete data entry When I create a Work Order manually, only one notification is sent. I also tried disabling the flag field on one of the requests, submitting, and then manually activating the Work Order - again, only one notification was generated. It seems to me that there may be some kind of timing issue, some code involved in generating the tasks that is mistakenly run several times but that normally doesn't activate anything else noticeable. If anyone's worked with or noticed this before, please let me know. Alternate ideas on automating the WO activation are also acceptable (and appreciated ;^)! WWRUG12 - Get Over It Parody lyrics
For those that couldn't hear (or understand) the lyrics being sung at the celebration - here they are! Get Over It lyrics Songwriters: Henley, Don; Frey, Glenn Lewis; Parody by David J. Easter I read ARSList and what do I see? A lotta people cryin' for the W-A-T They point their crooked little fingers at Dev Studio They're shakin' their heads sayin' nothing but No. It doesn't do that and it doesn't do this They want to keep their Admin Tool from 1996 Get over it! Get over it! All this whinin' and cryin' and pitchin' a fit Get over it! Get over it! You say you can't develop since you switched in 7.5 But you might feel better if we keep the User Tool alive The more I think about it old Dougie was right Let's drop the support, drop it tonight You don't wanna upgrade, want your maintenance for free This ain't open source - it's B-M-C Remedy Get over it! Get over it! Read the documentation, it'll help quite a bit Get over it! Get over it! I yell at my screen every time you start a brand new poll This horse is now dead, you're out of control You think you're a rebel, I think you're a troll, yeah yeah yeah Yeah you're draggin' your feet - the future is here You might as well accept it - your path is crystal clear If you don't adapt, we won't keep you around Instead of writing workflow you'd just bring our servers down Complain about the present - you're livin' in the past So come next year to WWRUG - we'll kick your little ass! Get over it! Get over it! You need 3 extra screens to make the panels all fit? Get over it! Get over it! Get over it! Get over it! Dan will throw you off the list if you don't call it quits! Get over it! Get over it! -David J. Easter Manager of Product Management, AR System BSM Atrium Solutions Management BMC Software, Inc. You say you can’t develop since you switched in 7.5 But you might feel better if we keep the User Tool alive The more I think about it old Dougie was right Let’s drop the support, drop it tonight You don’t wanna upgrade, want your maintenance for free This ain’t open source – it’s B-M-C Remedy Get over it! Get over it! Read the documentation, it’ll help quite a bit Get over it! Get over it! I yell at my screen every time you start a brand new poll This horse is now dead, you’re out of control You think you’re a rebel, I think you’re a troll, yeah yeah yeah Yeah you’re draggin’ your feet - the future is here You might as well accept it - your path is crystal clear If you don’t adapt, we won’t keep you around Instead of writing workflow you’d just bring our servers down Complain about the present - you’re livin’ in the past So come next year to WWRUG – we’ll kick your little ass! Get over it! Get over it! You need 3 extra screens to make the panels all fit? Get over it! Get over it! Get over it! Get over it! Dan will throw you off the list if you don’t call it quits!
