People Templates only apply when you are creating new people. If you are setting up people who already exist, you can't apply a template. For app permissions, you can import into the ctm:people permission groups form. Just look at the workflow that pushes to this form and map those in your import. That's 2 down buddy. Re: SV: SV: Permission template?
Are they new users or existing users? If they're new users, you can create a people template with all of that information. Then just create new accounts specifying their name and contact info. If they're existing users, you can use the data management tool. Just fill out the spreadsheet tabs for permissions, group assignments, and functional roles. When we restart the ARSystem, it failed to load Java and webservice plugins and gives HPI library error. We have a case opened with BMC. As per their suggestion, after exporting Application installtion dir/bin in LD_LIBRARY_PATH, tried separately initiating Arplugin process, once arsystem is up which loaded Web service and other plugins properly. For this activity, we have commented the arplugin line item in armonitor.conf. But can't able to figure out, why we are getting these ARERROR 8755 and HPI library error only when we start the ars with uncommenting arplugin line item in armontior.conf. What is the cause for these errors which is not appearing on separate initialization of arplugin..? Thanks, Govind Please do not print this email unless it is absolutely necessary. Accounting for timezone differences in notification filters
The server is in a PST and the majority of the users are on the EST. When notifications are sent out they contain the server time which will be incorrect for our customers outside of PST. For example: Customer East Coast is requesting a meeting at 3 pm. The notification will utilize the server time (which is PST) and show a 3 hour difference and the time will reflect 12 pm. Is there any setting or workflow that can be utilzed to ensure time zone difference is presented in the notification sent by the filter? ___ UNSUBSCRIBE or access ARSlist Archives at www.arslist.org Where the Answers Are, and have been for 20 years

Yolanda, I don't believe that Remedy 'stores' the tz difference for a user, so it has no real way to tell what timezone a message should be sent init's translated on the fly via regional settings on the computer when displayed in the browser. I have always just told them what timezone the server is in, and they have always just translated from there. Yolanda, There is a Time Zone field on the AR System User Preferences form (On Locale Tab). This field is not automatically set and you would need Users to Manually set it or a Process or Custom Code to set it. There is also a Time Zone form that has the Offset seconds to be used in any calculation. Once set, you could update any Date in any Field that would be used by the Notification. Re: ITSM OOB Web Service (HPD_IncidentInterface_Create_WS) - ARERR 9337
Just being able to 'see' the WSDL file if you are viewing it from the View tab of the WSDL editor in the Dev Studio, doesn't necessarily mean that the WSDL is guaranteed to work. The viewer is just a convenience for you to look at the file if you want to. You will see details of whatever the error is in the arjavaplugin log. Re: Converting date formats in set fields action
Thanks Fred, I tried that but it still returns 2012-09-03 which is the correct date but not the correct syntax. I thought that maybe by renaming the output (which was something I left in from the sample code I used as an example) the $1$ in the set fields was not getting a value back so I removed the AS clause and tried again. Still the same results so maybe the direct SQL doesn't work on a display-only field. I will proceed with the string manipulations, the basic one for the fields that don't need to retain the timestamp is quite easy, I just need to trap for null values since that would change the value to a single hyphen: RIGHT($zTmpDiscoveredDate$, 5) + - + LEFT($zTmpDiscoveredDate$, 4) Thanks, Rick ___ Rick Westbrock QMX Support Services -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Grooms, Frederick W Sent: Monday, May 13, 2013 10:44 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Converting date formats in set fields action I think you need to put single quotes around the field for the SQL SELECT CONVERT(VARCHAR(10), '$zTmpDiscoveredDate$', 101) AS DiscDate That is why you are getting 2000 ( 2012 - 9 - 3 ) Fred -Original Message- From: Action Request System discussion list(ARSList) [mailto:arslist@ARSLIST.ORG] On Behalf Of Rick Westbrock Sent: Monday, May 13, 2013 11:21 AM To: arslist@ARSLIST.ORG Subject: Re: Converting date formats in set fields action ** I did try that on Friday but the field was being set to 2000 to my temp date/time field again (see log below) so I may not have the syntax quite correct. Re: How to monitor the health of the arserver?
There is a Patrol Knowledge module for monitoring AR System that might be helpful - you can plug that into your BPPM/PNET server. See http://documents.bmc.com/supportu/documents/90/10/219010/Output/09186a33806c5fe1.htm. I am not sure that the version in this document is the latest though, the best way would be to check out the available downloads you have on EPD to see what else is there.
