2013-05-27 Thread Misi Mladoniczky
Hi,

My last problem with it was that it corrupted the group-inheritance column of
the group_cache. It simply cleared it out. But this has presumably been fixed
in version 8.

But nobody uses group-inheritance in 7.6.04 anyway, right!?

Just flip through your groups to check if the 'Parent Group' field is empty.

If my recollection is correct, this is a dispaly-only-field, and the actual
field is a hidden field...

Hello Lister's,

I have a basic question may be you guys might find this is quite silly. But
still I have a curiosity to to know form your guys.

In BMC Remedy Incident Management we have HPD:Help Desk form to create new
ticket which contains request ID, Incident ID and Instance ID.

My question is, when we have Request ID which is unique and can be
manipulative to become incident ID . Then what is the use of Incident ID and
Instance Id. Why do I need to have Incident ID and Instance ID when I have
Request Id in a form which is unique ?

And thanks in advance for all your suggestion and valuable post.

Cheers

Re: Difference between Necessity of Incident ID, Instance ID when I have Request ID

2013-05-27 Thread Kapil Banwari
Request ID gets generated when you save the form, but it is not the case
with Incident ID, it gets generated from HPD INC Num generator form, and it
is generated prior to the record being saved, so there might be a
possibility that you started with a record, but you didn't saved it, that
way, it will have a incident id, but not request id

Request id is generated by ARServer, but incident id by the HPD INC Num
generator form.

And instance id is pretty important for building the relationships among
various modules of ITSM and is used internally.

Hope this helps.

Kapil Banwari

What is the Cache-Mode set to ? Set it to 0 if not already set for
Production box.

I hope that you are not using the same box for 7604 which you have used for
6.3, as it takes more memory and CPU, so check you are not running out of
memory.

Also for running ARServer being slow, enable sql/api logging and analyze
them via log analyzer to see if there are any long running api's going on?

Other possibility , also check at the db level, if your DBA is seeing some
type of locks?

Kapil Banwari

Hi All,

I am having problems with my development server. Usually runs slow and now I
cannot log on. Looking in the arerror.log I can see a series of errors like
the ones below. Is this an indication of an AR Server issue, database
issue, or something else.

Hi Mike! I tried your suggestion and it didn't work. I'm going to try to
set this field with "Defer if NULL" on the merge precedence and see if it
works.

Thanks!

Re: need help about integrating ITSM with Service now

2013-05-27 Thread Remedy consultant
Hello All,

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. As i am going to handle workflow
changes from remedy side , so to create incident in service now from ITSM
(remedy) ,i need to create web service in remedy and give it to Service now
team to consume it . My web service should have opCreate operation.Correct
me if my understanding is incorrect. Also let me know if any other things i
needs to consider during implementation. My main task is to whenever
incident gets created in ITSM and assign to specific group ,it must be
transfered to Service now system.

Re: need help about integrating ITSM with Service now

2013-05-27 Thread Abhijit Hendre
I think SN needs to publish web service here which would contain Create
operation.
You will then write a filter which will execute at Incident submit
operation in remedy. Filter will contain web service set field action to
consume web service published by SN.
