SLM+Problem integration in ARS7604

Hi,



I have integrated SLM with problem management and the SLAs are working fine.



The doubt is on how to view the SLA status from a problem ticket ?



Like in Incident, there is no SLA tab for problem tickets.



Kindly let me know whether we need to manually add the SLA status DVF
fields to problem as well

The 8.1.01.001 [  which is 8.1 SP1 Patch1 ]  contains only MidTier fixes. When 
8.1 Sp1 Patch1 was planned ,  critical fixes were shipped as part of it ;  all 
of them being MidTier  in Patch1

@Frank :  The AR Server Patch Project consists of multiple features / 
components  viz. AR Server , Approval , Assignment Engine , Email Engine , 
MidTier , Developer Studio.
So the installer name is AR Patch but it has updates only for midTier.  Lets 
say if in future 8.1 SP1 Patch2 is shipped for AR , Approval fixes then they 
will be part of same installer called as AR System Patch Installer 8.1.01.002 . 
 Please excuse me as I may not write exact name seen on installer title.

Do you have any specific query here ?  which is still un-answered ?

We are working through the same issue RHEL/Oracle. 8.1.01.001  says it contains 
server updates but the installer says its only for midtier. Back and force a 
bunch of times with support but still no solution. Actually, more confused then

Error when migrating Change Templates with Task Groups\Task Templates across environments

I recently ran into an interesting migration problem with Task Groups. The
error I got when I was opening a new Change Template was the following:

"The Assignment Information is not valid. Please use the menus provided on
the 'Assignee Company', 'Assignee Organization' and 'Assignee Group' or the
type ahead return function on the 'Assignee Group' field to select this
information. (ARERR 1) "

If you search communities, et.al, this boils down to the Site not being
populated.

Since I developed this from scratch, Site was populated on my Development
Server. However, trying to be efficient, I dumped all of my Tasks to a
".arx" and loaded them in using Data Import. When I tried it on my
Production Server, I got this error. I had to go into each Task and
re-register every Assignment. This wasn't too bad because I only had 10
tasks. But I could foresee a Task Group, with several decisions (Variable
Templates don't transfer at all), and 100+ Tasks.

I thought I'd let you all know in case you run into this in the future. Of
course I know there are a few of you which will say, Naturally! :)

This also registers this as a possible fix if someone Googles the error.
Right Dan??? or maybe its Matt??

Hi Suresh,
In the HTML template you need to encapsulate the fields with #$$Field.Name$$#.  
I also needed to set the field permissions on the form  to public on the fields 
included in the template.  In addition, I needed to add the fields in the 
template to the Fields Section on the notify filter.  Change the drop-down to 
Selected and then click on the add button to add the fields that will display 
in the template.  This is what worked for me.

Issue.  Maybe it applies to both 8.0 and 8.1?

We are still running 7.5.4 in production in our 100% custom shop on AIX only 
because we need to continue to use Sybase as our underlying database and I 
don't see that moving forward with an unstable  8.1 upgrade for production 
actually buys us anything other than grief.

If ARS on Sybase was supported on commodity hardware with some flavour of 
Linux, we would be all over it.

It is the most frustrating thing. 

I will watch for the increase in memory usage as we go forward.

We have deployed a stable Version 8.1.00 201401101150 Hotfix MT on WebSphere 
8.5 on AIX 7.1 Clustered + 2 Http Servers + BigIp. 

Our issues is with Single instance 8.1.00.002 201308272305Hotfix ARS on 11g - 
and continuously trying to get it stable, without to much outage time.
 
We ran into a ServerAdmin and plugin issue.  Where the ports and queue was 
blank; it turned out the activelinks cannot process order of operation if is 
has 2 and more actions; which we pointed out,  they took that  info - create a 
fix - basically going throught the ServerAdmin.def and separating the actions 
into multiple setfields. What they could not tell me if there wasnot an 
underlining issue, that would affect - our custom environment that have 
setfields with multiple actions. But so far those are fine, so i'm chalking it 
up to issue specific to serveradmin.def.

Just yesterday, the USER form , does not inherit the permissions from the 
previous in an upgrade. So a tester, ran into issues where they could not 
retrieved from USER because the access was missing.  So we spent time, going 
thru ensuring the system forms and our custom stuff  - inherited the 
permissions. Such a freaking pain. 

This upgrade in gong to painful.

I have seen many times where a "windows install" goes seamlessly and the *nix install fails or gives errors for both applications and interfaces.  Can't imagine what it would be like for AIX.
 
BTW, confirm that the ARSystem 8.1 SP1 Patch 001 was only a Mid-tier fix.

Been reading but have not posted anything in years.
After reading the "Content Missing" thread yesterday and my latest round with 
support, I felt the need to vent a little and reach out to other AIX admins.
We upgraded from 7.5 to 8.1 in November.  Was not overly difficult but after 6 
hours we were up and running.  Of course we practiced this several time in our 
test environment to make sure our procedure was correct. Everything we do is 
custom, no ITSM or any OOB anything.
With some minor inconvenience that we worked through all has been good until

If you installed Analytics it should have created a shell form called
ANA:Analytics. The form already has an Entry Point Label created that is the
reason why you see the Analytics label in the flyout application list. As
part of the Analytics install an active link should have been created called

"ANA:Analytics:OpenURL".

NOTE: If this Active Link does not exists you can create it based off the
form above with the following criteria:
1) Execute On should be "None" (no options selected).
2) Run If  should be blank
3) If Action - Run Process PERFORM-ACTION-OPEN-URL new http://yoururlhere
4) Permissions should be set to "Public".
