Re: Cancelling Service Requests

Hi Irina,

There would be some network glitches due to which it got stuck in submitted
status.

Follow the below steps to cancel it :

1. Go to SRM :AppInstanceBridge and search the Request by request number.

2. Move the status from submitted to cancelled.

Are you trying to do this straight from the SRM:requests form? If so, you
have to go from pending to in progress, and then cancelled. That is, if you
want to follow the workflow rules. If you go straight to cancelled or

Exporting Images from v8.1 RKM

2014-09-03 Thread T Shurmur
Hello Listers,

Has anyone pulled images out of RKM in v8.1. If so, how?

My current approach will be to export the data directly from the B tables.

I am kinda hoping that someone has written a utility for this.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Why should you ENGAGE?

2014-09-03 Thread Mueller, Doug
Everyone,

I just wanted to send a quick note about the ENGAGE conference coming up next
month.

Why should you go... It is at DisneyWorld, do you need another reason? OK,
probably not the best business
reason you could have. And, I probably won't make it to the park because there
are too many other valuable
things to do at the conference. And, I guess we really need some reasons the
boss would support.

ENGAGE is BMC's return to having a World Wide user conference. And, to have a
conference that is inclusive
of all the BMC products and their interactions.

This last area is one where I see a lot of opportunity - to be able to see
beyond a single product and see how
different products interact to add value to each other. At the end of the day,
the goal is to better serve the
customer of IT. They don't care if product A or B or C is doing the job, just
that what they want is done in an
efficient and timely way so that they can continue with their jobs.

At the same time, there needs to be depth in specific product areas.

I think if you take a look at the agenda, there are more talks involving the
Remedy product line than any other
product line. There are talks ranging from what is coming to customer
experiences to technical details about
the applications and platform. There are talks that are aimed at the new
administrator and ones aimed at
the administrator who has been around a while.

I understand that when the preliminary agenda was posted, it was not complete
and did not have all the talks
listed that are now on the list. Although it has taken a little time to get
locked down, I think you will find that
the final list of talks and topics has that mixture of things for everyone.

As you look at the agenda, I strongly encourage you to look for those
opportunities to find a talk that may be
about adjacent/integrated interaction rather than ones that are strictly within
the product itself. I think you
may find some very valuable insight into where you can take the solution for
your organization by expanding
horizons.

Then, combine those talks with one of the most often overlooked values of a
user conference - casual
conversations with BMC employees and with other customers. I cannot tell you
the number of times I have
heard that a hallway conversation has opened up new ideas and opportunities or
has provided a solution to a
longstanding problem or challenge.

So, I encourage you all to find your way to Orlando in October to join us at
this event. I know that folks who
have attended in the past have gotten significant value from their attendance
and have brought back new
ideas and solutions that have moved them forward once back home.

I and a bunch of other engineers will be there waiting to host you for the
event. We will work to keep any
sales types locked in the Vendor Fair and any marketing types busy manning the
registration booth or making
sure that lunch is served on time and that breaks are well stocked.

Let me know if you have any questions/suggestions and I will make sure they are
responded to.

I hope to see you all in Orlando - I will probably be the one in some
ridiculous costume or hat or some other
such apparel who just may be carrying around a tray of appetizers or desserts
for your dining pleasure.

process designer questions

2014-09-03 Thread andres tamayo
Hi there

i'm starting to work with PD associated to ITSM particularly incident
module and i'm wondering if somebody can help me with some questions
regarding this tool

1. how does the multitenant feature works? i mean the same process can
exists for example for global and a particular company? if so how
precedence works? i mean if mapping conditions are the same which process
execute.

2. when a process is attached to an incident can i still add ad hoc tasks?

3. is there any documentation that states how the PD affects the global
performance of the applications? i mean how can affect application
performance be affected based in the fact that we can have complex process
attached to an incident and there will be many process executing at same
time?

thanks

Re: SLA Data Sources

2014-09-03 Thread andres tamayo
i'm not an expert but i don't think you can achieve this through data
source configuration.

the only way i can figure it out is that you create a custom field on your
form the the workflow to populate the field with the right date based on
the conditions needed, then go to data source and set the custom field in
the configuration.

2014-09-02 13:33 GMT-05:00 Dave Shepard seanhea...@hotmail.com:

 SLM 7.6.04

Is it possible to Configure the Data Source on SLM:ConfigDataSource for a
custom date field for one Service Target only.
Currently all Service Targets we are using use Reported Date+. We don't
 want this to change.

We would like one particular Service Target to use a custom date field
sent to us from the NOC when creating an Incident. Is it possible to
configure Data Sources for this one SLA to use the custom date field, or do
i have to change this for all SLAs?

 Thanks
 Dave

Re: Exporting Images from v8.1 RKM

2014-09-03 Thread LJ LongWing
Tom,
According to a post

https://communities.bmc.com/thread/73500

'Steve Ghost' has written a java program that will pull Remedy attachments
out of the DB directly, without involving a Remedy server, or the API

http://pastebin.com/LHGkSMDZ

I've never used this code, and I can't confirm or deny that it works...but
if you are wanting to get it directly from the DB, then this is one
possible method to try.

Re: process designer questions

2014-09-03 Thread Raj
Answers inline.

1. how does the multitenant feature works? i mean the same process can
exists for example for global and a particular company? if so how precedence
works? i mean if mapping conditions are the same which process execute.

The mapping is explicitly selected in the mapping form, so if you select Global
Company – it will pick Global company process and if you selected your specific
company, your specific company process will be selected for trigger. If you
have selected both the companies, there is a sort order field based on which
the choice is made.

2. when a process is attached to an incident can i still add ad hoc tasks?
Not today, but an enhancement request can be made for this and possibly get
addressed soon.

2. is there any documentation that states how the PD affects the global
performance of the applications? i mean how can affect application performance
be affected based in the fact that we can have complex process attached to an
incident and there will be many process executing at same time?

Where did you hear about that? PD is a combination of few filters and a filter
plugin code. Filters would not affect the performance greatly. Filter plugin is
configurable for number of threads and use of private queue and the same can be
fine-tuned in case you find performance if needed, although I have not heard of
explicit performance degradation due to PD. BTW – PD Processes execute in async
manner in different threads and hence don’t give direct impact on parent
requests.
