Re: IE 7 and MidTier 6.3

2008-07-30 Thread Harbin, Erica M. (MSFC-NNM04AA02C)[SAIC]
I think that there is just something wrong with this user's IE 7
installation. Still no other user has reported this issue. Additionally,
I have her using Mozilla and it's been working for her for several days
now. I am going to suggest to her to put in a request to have her IE 7
reinstalled.

IE 7 and MidTier 6.3Erica,

Is it working on IE 7 below?

Have you recently configured Mid-tier to be behind a load balancer? This
could return invalid sessions if you have not configured it for sticky
IP's..

Our organization pushed out IE7 last Friday and currently there is one
user having trouble with an app using MidTier since then. Unfortunately,
we have not been able to figure it out and have been going round and
round trying different things since we can't duplicate with any other
user. She receives the error ARERR 9201 - invalid session when
performing almost any action in the app. Wondering if anyone else is
having this problem or have any suggestions on where to look for
resolution or a workaround. We are in the process upgrading the dev web
server to MidTier 7.1 but need a workaround/fix until then.

We have tried comparing IE settings, different user names,
etc...sometimes she is working but most of the time she is not. Of
course, we have deleted cache, cookies and history on numerous
occasions. Another weird thing that I noticed today is that when she
logs out, the license tool still shows that she is connected.

We would be grateful for any suggestions at this time.

  Thanks!

Re: Crystal Error

2007-05-22 Thread Harbin, Erica M. (MSFC-NNM04AA02C)[SAIC]
Did reinstalling the client resolve this issue? I am having the same
issue. Unfortunately, this did not resolve my problem. I noticed that
the user still have v5.1.2 installed while version 7.0.1 patch 1 was
installed. I reinstalled 7.0.1 patch 1 without uninstalling because of
the bug with the MS Office and Business Objects whereas the Office
products can actually stopped working. That happened to me and another
user. Didn't want to go through that again since the only solution is to
rebuild the box. Anyway, after that didn't work, I installed version
7.0.1 patch 2 and that didn't work. Thought about going ahead to
uninstall but I was afraid of the issue with MS office and the Crystal11
Restributables application although Remedy says that this was resolved
with patch 2.
Any ideas?

I have been having problems with the Crystal interface and was wondering
if anyone could provide some ideas/solutions. We have several Crystal
reports that have worked in the past that have suddenly quit working.
The error message is: An error occurred while generating the Crystal
report: 0x80004003 - Invalid pointer (ARERR 1904).

I have searched the Knowledge base with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Bug with v7.0.1 and Crystal

2007-02-22 Thread Harbin, Erica M. (MSFC-NNM04AA02C)[SAIC]
We opened ticket with Remedy because a couple of users (3 at this point) are no
longer able to user Office 2003 and are getting this error:
Microsoft [program] has not been installed for the current user. Please run
set up to install the application.
In addition, we find that if a different user login to the affected machine,
that user is able to access the Office applications.
Two of users uninstalled v7.0.1 client and this this started to occur some time
after that. The 3rd user is not sure what version he uninstalled (v5.1.2 or
v6.3) but he now has the problem and says that he never attempted to uninstall
v7.0.1
Has anyone else seen this and has a fix for Office 2003? We have found and
Remedy has said that the only resolution is to rebuild the user's box.

thanks
Erica

I didn't know about the bullentin. When I was talking with the analyst at
Remedy, I asked if something was posted on their web site and we couldn't find
anything.

Thanks for your comments.

Hi, Erica:
=20
I don't have an answer other than rebuilding the user's box. However,
did you know that a Technical Bulletin was sent regarding this very
thing from BMC on February 12, 2007?
=20
BMC Remedy AR System Server 7.0.01

Per SW00257321, uninstalling BMC Remedy User 7.x might cause Microsoft
Office 2003 or Microsoft Visual Studio to stop working. This technical
bulletin describes a temporary workaround for that issue.

Unfortunately, the workaround for the issue is don't uninstall the BMC
Remedy User 7.x, Instead install new versions...
