Add admin ranking in server group operation ranking form for that one server Stop ARS Edit ar.conf and update parameter Disable-Admin-Operations :F Start ARS In all other apps in server group - you can set it to T Also - if you are looking to move admin server out of server group - Update server group member -F in ar.conf There are many advantages of having admin out of server group You can find many discussions on it in BMC communities HTH Vaibhav On Mar 30, 2014 1:39 PM, "Suresh Loganathan" wrote: > ** > > Team, > > We are using 4 remedy boxes. Hi, If you Check server.xml It has a connection tag which has a few parameters like accept count max connections Increasing these parameters is directly proportional to java heap size of your web service Check this for more info https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-7.0-doc/config/http.html I guess this is what you were after? Just curious.. Wouldn’t just a cheap RDBMS database (like Access) serve the same purpose if you just want to store relationship data, to just view it using some type of a frontend?? Even if you want to only report from that instance, it is sufficient to mirror the database to a reporting server, and install your reporting tools on that server. Personally I don’t see any other reason why you might want a read only AR System instance.. If you must have an AR Server instance installed there, then what John said will work. But it is a huge overkill for reading relational data.. Its like renting a over size U-Haul van for the purpose of going to the grocery to buy a dozen X-small chicken eggs.. It finds it, validates it, tests credentials (SQL Server auth since this is on a 2008 R2 VM that isn’t in a domain, using SQL Server 2008 on an adjacent VM), but then insists that it is going to overwrite it during installation. No way – that db already has all of the apps and sample data installed – it MUST be upgraded!!! It would appear that the 7.6.04 installer is just as fubar as the previous versions. Re: Impact on Enabling API/SQL Logs in Production environment
Hi Sathish, For having the logs near to Crash, we enabled the logging, and loaded the system virtually.if system crashes...we'll have the logs. Enabling the API logs, of any kinda application, increases the memory required by the Application Server on which those APIs are deployed. In case of Remedy - when we enable the API logs, everything that works in the background gets logged- server memory utilization increases and server is now on hign memory usage - and as the load on the server increases - reliability decreases and as soon as memory usage crosses the memory threashold - Application Server will crash. Workaround - increase the physical memory and extand the server threashold limit - temporarily - as it has some other effects as well!!! Reg. Structure of your setup - is it load balanced, if yes then how does it behave in case one of the server crashes? CMDB 7.6 post installation - "AtriumWidget" was not found
** Hi All, We have installed new 7.6 CMDB and Product catalogue But while accessing BMC Atrium Console - I am getting following error - ARERR [9391] No module with name "AtriumWidget" was found in the following configured module server(s) "[]". I checked BMC communities and Knowledge base as well and performed below steps also - 1. Find the midtier installation directory and one of it's subdirectories should be the "atrium" directory. This is where the flex files are found and will load from. If it is not there see #2. 2. Go to the BMC midtier Configuration > Cache Settings. Flush the cache, wait about 1 minute and then restart the Tomcat (midtier application) server. Allow the server to complete the restart and give it about another minute there after. Try accessing the Atrium Core. If the error persists, see #3. 3. Go to the AR Server Configuration Settings pannel > Advanced > Default Web Path . Make sure that the Default Web Path has the midtier URL there. http:///arsys/ value should be there. Next check the Connection Settings Tab and make sure that the midtier and Application passwords are enter. Repeat #2. But the issue is not yet resolved, can anyone plzz comment somthing? You will need to contact BMC support, send them your license file and have it converted to a 7.x version. You will be given the selection of the version of ARS that you are licensing. And yes, the ARS key is dependent on the host ID of the server you are running it on. On the plus side, the only "key" that you need is the AR Server license, and others can be added without a key. Obviously, you need to actually own the licenses to "install" them. Hope this helps. Query regarding AR System 7.6 installation with mid tier on webSphere on AIX Platform
** Hi All, We are setting up a new ITSM system on AR Server 7.6.3. First we installed Remedy AR Server 7.6.3 with mid tier component, and then we installed webSphere. We deployed midtier.war as well, but WebSphere is not able to communicate with Remedy. In Installation Guide, we found that we need to deploy "midtier_platform.war" but it's not available with AR System package for AIX platform. Can anyone help me out here?
