Hi Richard, Looking towards issue description and screenshot given by user, I have faced this issue before, It seems there is no error in installation. But the installation is not progressing. This issue occures due to issue in uninstallation. User need to delete all registry entries and reinstall it once. This issue occures due to issue in uninstallation. I’ve rebooted, cleared dnscache, waited, not removed services while running, had them totally rebuild the server - everything I could think of. If it’s getting to point where it’s trying to start the server there should be an arerror.log which may help. Is the arserver.exe shown in the task list and what happens if you try and run the server from the command line? Should be a pretty easy install – no email, no SNMP, etc. but set up with the group option chosen (to access an existing database with an Already existing 2003 system server). All goes well until the install gets to the “Post Upgrade Extractor” screen where it shows a progress bar for “Starting AR System Server Services…” where it looks like it’s hung – the Progress bar hasn’t moved in an hour. No error message, nothing. Any suggestions from any 2012 server setups? Thanks! We have been having a lot of problems on our servers lately with the 8dot3 setting and BMC installers. Not all just some. Look it up and maybe turn it on before trying the next install. I'm trying to install 7.6.04 on a 2012 test server. Check Services and see if the ARSystem service is starting. If not, try kicking it off yourself and see if the installer sees it when it is up and continues. Good suggestion - looks like there was no ar service even created. The portmapper service was there but No AR service.
