Jon,
You only need to do the 'qual' route if you don't have easy access to the
request ID of the record (which is different than the displayed
incident/change/problem id), if using the EID method, no trailing encoded
values are necessary.

Good morning/afternoon/evening all,

I am working with a third party vendor, that thinks is can send out a URL to
the users, that when clicked on will open up an incident or change (just using

I know that the notifications now coming out of ITSM 7.6.4 reference a NTS

Any ideas would be great (just be nice).

Howard:

My guess about what's wrong with the URL is that it contains an asterisk (not a
legal URL character, IIRC). The easiest thing to do may be to use the Mid-Tier
application that URL-encodes strings you provide -- documented in the MT guide,
I think.

Thanks LJ. We tried using EID numbers first, but it would never return a
match (or didn't work reliably across INC/PBI/CRQ - it was a long time ago
when we looked), so we had to result to using quals

**
Good morning/afternoon/evening all,

I am working with a third party vendor, that thinks is can send out a URL
to the users, that when clicked on will open up an incident or change
(just using an incident or change number)

I know that the notifications now coming out of ITSM 7.6.4 reference a NTS
number and the NTE Notifier form. So my question is where does the NTS
number live? Is there a copy of that number on the Helpdesk or Change
form?

Any ideas would be great (just be nice).

As always thank you, you all,

Howard

All,

Thanks for the info. I also thought I saw some doc on this some time ago, but I
could not find it as well.

Re: NTS number in 7.6.4

2013-07-08 Thread Longwing, Lj
Jon,
You only need to do the 'qual' route if you don't have easy access to the
request ID of the record (which is different than the displayed
incident/change/problem id), if using the EID method, no trailing encoded
values are necessary.

2013-07-08 Thread Jon Slaven
Hi Howard,

I know there's a doc about direct ticket links out there somewhere, but we
could never get them to work in 7.6.04. Essentially we had to pass an
advanced query in an encoded url.

Incident:
http:///HPD%3AHelp+Desk/Best+Practice+View/?qual='Incident%20ID*%2B'%20%3D%20%22
INC00876126%22

Problem:
http:///PBM%3AProblem+Investigation/Best+Practice+View/?qual='Problem%20ID*%2B'%20%3D%20%22
PBI5807%22

Change:
http:///CHG%3AInfrastructure+Change/Best+Practice+View/?qual='Change%20ID*%2B'%20%3D%20%22
CRQ00068871%22

Please note that you have to keep everything intact (including the
trailing "%22") changing only the ticket # or it won't work.

Best,
Jon

Re: NTS number in 7.6.4

2013-07-08 Thread Longwing, Lj
Howard,
The NTS number is nothing more than a generic 'pointer' form. When a
notification is sent out through that form, it points to that form, the
form opens on the screen, and based on information in the record, it closes
THAT window and opens the appropriate window (Incident, Change, etc)so
yes, you can definitely link directly to the Incident/Change. Open up your
Mid-Tier guide and research creating URL's and it discusses many methods
possible to get directly to the record in question.

Re: NTS number in 7.6.4

2013-07-08 Thread Downing, Ryan
Hi Howard,

By default the Notify action will send a URL containing the "Request ID" of the
form from where the notification is sentIn your case the NTE:Notifier form.
You could write workflow to construct a URL using the Incident/Change or
whatever number required and bypass the default URL attached as a function of
the specific NTE:Notifier form filter. The actual Incident ID for example is
stored on the NTE:Notifier form in the "Request ID01 System" field. Use the
existing default URL passed as the foundation for building a URL that can
passed which contains the form and Request ID in the specified field.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
Ryan.
