[AsburyPark] Re: bad luck building?

2008-09-12 Thread theshortsalepro
Years ago, before Kevin Brown purchased the building from which he was
asked to vacate, a previous owner faced with foreclosure on that
building contacted me for assistance. I seem to recall he operated a
retail auto parts business. To guestimate the building's value, I was
afforded a glimpse into the building's past positioned on the
second floor was a prizefighters' boxing ring complete with ringside
seating.

That owner lost the property directly or indirectly to foreclosure.

Perhaps the new owners should burn the structure... then burn the ashes
twice.

[AsburyPark] Wonder Bar makes Vanity Fair

2008-09-12 Thread MarioAPNJ

A two-page full exterior shot of the Wonder Bar is used as the backdrop for
a high-end ad for the South's department store chain, Dillard's (The Style

Wonder Bar is changed to Wonder Car, but Tillie is visible and
undeniably Asbury Park. Tillie grins down on the $185.00 soft leather tote

2008-09-12 Thread asburycouple
Seriously, has not one person posted anything today or is this what
things are going to be like in a moderated world, where it takes hours
for posts to get put up. If that's the case I guess I'm out of here,

Of course if this goes right up atleast I'll know it was just a really

[AsburyPark] Re: Moderation stinks

2008-09-12 Thread asburycouple
Well, that's 19 minutes too long for starters. But what about the
other 4-5 messages that got posted at the same time as mine? Did they
all happen to get written at the same time, or were they waiting for
hours to get approved.

This used to be a discussion group, where people could exchange views
and there was a spontaneous, informative and interactive discussion.
Sometimes it spun a bit out of control but we self-policed and ususally
got back on track in a day or so. But it was interactive. Now it's
just a place you can post information, not a place to interact. I beg
you to return this to the un-moderated board it used to be. I'm not
alone, as in the message you posted today there's another person
complaining about the same thing.

Please - don't ruin this board.

TLANTIC CITY — At The Water Club, the Borgata Hotel Casino Spa's ultra-posh
luxury
hotel, you've got 60 seconds to decide if you're in the mood.

If a package of adult personal care items including condoms and other intimate
products
called The Passion Kit'' isn't put back on the shelf by then, the hotel
automatically charges
you for it.

Since the hotel opened next to the Borgata at the end of June, the sex kits are
the
top-selling in-room item. Drew Schlesinger, vice president and general manager
of the
800-room hotel, says they've sold more than 1,500 of them at $18 a pop.

A light sensor determines when the item is lifted from a dresser-top display,
and
automatically charges the item to the guest's bill if it's not replaced within
a minute.

Hi Pete,

This is only my humble opinion, but I am a member of other moderated
Yahoo groups. Possibly not everyone requires moderation and I know
that moderation can be selective. If you feel that moderation is
necessary, you may (or may not) think about selective moderation.

Just a thought,

The only things that's really been off-topic here have been some political
posts, but
honestly, that's to be expected when we are right around the corner from an
election that's
the biggest news in our country at the moment.
I created an un-moderated political group just for that reason last year, and
for the most
part, political discussions take place over there.
But, i'd suggest avoiding any form of moderation here. It just creates a sense
of distrust
and censorship.

[AsburyPark] Cover Charges vs. Parking Meters

2008-09-12 Thread oakdorf
If a bar can charge $10 with food or $12 w.out food as a cover for under 2
hours of music,
why is it a sin for a city to charge .50 an hour to park. On top of the cover
of course are
drinks.food etc...

So what if the city charged i the downtown for parking - at least AFTER 5 pm on
fri/sat/sun
or make parking free on cookman, but pay along lake or the other way around...

we are in now He lets it do it's own thing to a certain point.

If God is not guiding it, then who is?

 The
trouble with hurricanes and the like is that they aren't evil in and
 of themselves;

Why not?

it is only when someone gets hurt that it becomes an
issue. Then the discussion moves on to the problem of evil. As far as
global warming goes I don't at this time believe we as human beings
have had much of an effect on global warming. Well not as much as the
media is trying to tell us. It is a bunch of fear factor media hype
that is doing most of the talking so please don't be sucked in by what
Al Gore and Leonardo DiCaprio have to say. The majority of the hype is
based on speculation. A great and balanced booklet on global warming
called How You Should Think About Global Warming puts into perspective
what we really know about global warming so far and how we should
think about it. The author relates it back to the hype of the
millennium bug and how the media and politicians put the fear into us.
The booklet is very practical and can easily be read and understood by
 Christian and non-Christian alike.
