[AsburyPark] Maxie Update
Hi Everyone. I'm posting this on behalf of Maxie's owners... All, We have sad news, more than two months ago in mid-November we asked for your help in finding our Maxie, we are writing today with the final chapter. Maxie was found today in Deal Lake, only a few blocks from where she went missing. From the appearance of her coat and body, she had been in the water for quite some time. We will always be grateful for your help (in actions, comforting words, and prayer). While we are extremely hurt and pained by the news, we are grateful to have closure. Again, we can't thank you enough for all of your support and help. Anthony N. Rick 510 1st Ave Anthony G. 600 8 th Av Yahoo! I found this segment that aired CBS3 http://cbs3.com/video/[EMAIL PROTECTED] It's a beautiful day out... so please continue to be aware if you see any bulldogs in or around Asbury that may be Maxie --- In AsburyPark@yahoogroups.com, wernerapnj [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: That would be Heck AVENUE. We hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving!! AnthonyG 600 8th Ave AnthonyN Rick 510 First Ave -- Original message -- From: newarski202@ Maxie Update: We had another Maxie sighting today, in the same neighborhood. A 15 year old boy called us around 1 p.m. and said he saw a dog that looked like Maxie being taken into a house at 1617 Heck St. He seemed credible and described the behavior of the dog, which matched Maxie's -- she's on the hyper/jumpy side :) We immediately drove to the house and met with the boy in person and he confirmed he saw a dog that looks like Maxie being taken into that house. Then we actually saw the owner of the house and her daughter outside and asked her about the dog and she said she had not seen any stray dogs. She did not mention being a dog owner. We then went to the Neptune Police Department to see if they could do anything, but the officer behind the desk was not helpful in the least. While we are grateful that Maxie may be warm and dry and being fed, we want her home! We don't want to falsely accuse anyone, but need to follow up on this lead. We have been by the house off and on all day and have posted flyers on poles surrounding the house. The house is on the corner of Heck and Myrtle and has a chain link fence around it, giving a good view into both front and back yards. We plan on continuing to drive by the house and post more flyers around it tomorrow and Friday. We might do a stake out -- the dog has to pee! If anybody can help us by driving by this house at any point in the next couple of days, we would be so grateful. Again we don't know for sure if this is her, or if there is a dog in that house at all, as we haven't seen her first hand. We continue to be amazed at the outpouring of kindness you have all shared with us and appreciate being in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you! [AsburyPark] Re: Missing Red English Bulldog. Please keep looking
Jack, There were a few sightings yesterday. I attached two more PDF files in the Files sections that shows where Maxie was spotted The files are labeled: Maxie Sightings MISSING Maxie2_2_ Another one of Maxie's owners (Anthony also) tried to post this email to the group yesterday, but was unable to. I am posting it on his behalf Thanks to everyone for the kind words and effort in searching for Maxie. We know you have been doing so much and have seen and talked too many of you in the last couple of days. Your help and support means so much to us and will never be forgotten. Our hopes were raised this weekend, as there were several sightings yesterday morning (Saturday 11/17) in the southwest section of Asbury. A large group of us canvassed the area Saturday and Sunday and while we received several leads, we still haven't found her. The first report came from DeWitt and Bangs and Dewitt Mattison, around 10 a.m. Later, around 11:30 a.m., we talked to a couple of different people who saw her on Springwood and Adams and Springwood and Union. This morning we also talked to someone who saw her early this morning (Sun 11/18) around 2-3 a.m. around Rollo Plaza and Munroe Ave. This was the last sighting. I've attached a map which plots the various sightings and times. The lack of sightings today could be due to a number of different reasons: -Given the rain today (she hates rain!) she probably found a warm spot to curl up in and stay dry -She may have moved on to a different neighborhood (although she seams to be going in circles!) -Someone may have picked her up and be keeping her inside We all feel we are close in finding her, and ask for your continued support. If you can help in any of the following ways, we would be so grateful: -Continue to canvass the southwest section of town during daylight hours -I have attached a flyer you can print/handout/post -Please only do this during daylight. If someone were put in harm's way helping us, we would be even more heartbroken. -Widen search to neighboring sections -We searched south in Neptune across Hwy 33; east to the ocean; west past Hwy 35; north past Asbury Ave and in the Northwest section of town, but posting/canvassing increases the odds of finding a lost pet by 200%, so the more the better. -If you know anybody that lives in these areas or in any neighboring towns, please forward the flyer to them and ask them to post in their local merchants Thank you!! I am posting this message on behalf of a couple of friends of mine who suffered two terrible losses last night. Two of his dogs went loose last night around 6:30 between 7th and 8th ave. Unfortunately, Smokey, a pug, was killed by a hit- and- run driver by Deal Lake. Maxie, an English bulldog, is still missing Please help us her find her! At this point we're thinking someone probably took her in. Maxie is 3 years old and responds to her name. She did not have a collar on. Please call Anthony, one of Maxie's owners at 201-481-9609. I do believe a REWARD is being offered as well I will try to attach a photo in the gallery. This picture was taken when she was a puppy. Missing flyers are also being posted throughout town Thanks Nelson 1st Ave Yahoo!
