Quoting Brent Davidson [EMAIL PROTECTED]: I considered doing just that, but since I didn't have my scope with me and it's an hour's drive away it didn't seem worth it at this point. If we have trouble again I may take the scope down there and test it. unless the cable is in the same spot (relative to coil, ground, other metal), loaded with the same impedance characteristics as an x100p, etc etc you might not measure anything meaningful anyway. you'd have to wire the scope across it somehow in place without destroying the experiment with the scope leads themselves adding another end of line leg that is not the x100p. I would say you are probably correct in the assumption, and everyone should just bear this sort of thing in mind. if in doubt its easy to plug in through a power bar with phone surge supressor close to the end of the run, or one of the many other devices that do the same thing. -Brent Steve Edwards wrote: On Thu, 14 Feb 2008, Brent Davidson wrote: That 3 foot cable run passes behind a 21 monitor that was connected to the server. Re: [asterisk-users] x100p wcfxo hangup on outgoing calss
Hi Miguel, i'm in Spain like you. For a normal operational system inmediate should be set to no. Busycount and Busydetect can be improved performance with busypattern. The pattern should be shown in the CLI, just take a look. In Spain we use Kewlstart. If you card allows it try use Julian J. Menendez patch for AnswerOnPolarity... If your provider allows it also, you won't haver further issues, just tune the echo with fxotune. Disable echotraining. Not needed. Disable fax detection. I have tried bios setting of PnPOS no and PnPOS yes, tried the card in different slots, disabled all the unused motherboard devices to free up interrupts, etc. The card works flawlessly in a CentOS 4.4 install on an old K6-2 motherboard. If I put an ethernet card in a PCI slot (in addition to the one on the motherboard), it is recognized and configured during boot so I assume the interrupt hardware is working on the mother board. Questions: Is this normal? Must Asterisk be in control of the X100P in order for the passthru phone to dial out? If it's supposed to be able to dial out what could explain its symptoms? Polarity error with the green/red wires? Bad X100P? Loathe to go messing with something that could fry 1)me, 2)my new FXO card, 3)my pc, 4)the telco, etc, etc. Anybody feel up to helping a noobie? The X100P has not been made for years. No, what you are experiencing is not normal. The two ports on the card are electrically wired togather, much like a standard phone splitter you would buy at a store. The only cause I can think of for what is happening is either a bad X100P, a card that claims to be an X100P, but is not, or (maybe) your red/green are swapped. ___ --Bandwidth and Colocation Provided by http://www.api-digital.com-- asterisk-users mailing list To UNSUBSCRIBE or update options visit: http://lists.digium.com/mailman/listinfo/asterisk-users

Dialing out on the channels works just fine. I took the opportunity to reinstall 1.4.0 (zaptel and asterisk) to see if maybe it was a software issue, and I also swapped around the analog lines and made sure that they were still ringing if plugged into other equipment. I checked with ztmonitor and you can see the RX level go up when the ring comes in, but still no detection in *. Try setting both modules: zaptel and wcfxo, with debug=1 . Anything on the kernel logs? (make sure you log kernel debug messages. What Linux distribution is it?) I don't get the Starting simple switch message or anything like that anymore. Charlie Grosvenor wrote: The card that I have got only has one port. I assume there are two versions? Thanks NOPE There really is only one port. two modular jacks, one marked line, which should go to the PSTN or FXS device, one with battery on it. The second, upper? port is simply in parallel, and in some modems ( can't say for sure on the X100 ) is opened when the modem goes off hook. If you have a card with only ONE modular jack, then perhaps you don't really have an X100?? Remember the X100 is really a simple WinModem that has a specific chipset that the Zaptel driver was written for, If you were to remove it and place it in a Windows machine with the proper drivers, you would have a run of the mill 56K dial up modem Red alarm in the X100 means it doesn't see battery from the PSTN -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Leo Ann Boon Sent: 27 January 2007 00:58 To: Asterisk Users Mailing List - Non-Commercial Discussion Subject: Re: [asterisk-users] X100P - zttools says red status Charlie Grosvenor wrote: Yes the line is connected, a standard phone works fine when connected to the line. Re: [asterisk-users] X100P clone not working
configs look fine to me it has to be a module problem im guessing may be, but I dont know whats wrong Zaptel (1.2.6.) installation was without errors and I did not get an error when loading the modules try rmmod for zaptel and wctfxo or w/e then modprobing again(must be root) if that does not work(which is does on my system, so i added it into a startup conf) kernel: wcfxo: module not supported by Novell are you sure that wcfxo is the correct module for that device?? I would guess the card is actually a http://www.x100p.com/products_1.htm and may be x100p selling it on ebay themselves. I have one of these cards itself and it works fine. RE : [Asterisk-Users] x100p buying advice
Hello, Ridiculous business argumentation... By changing 2 resistors maping on the same card you can say to system that is any response as X100P, X101P, or Clone. No proof to good quality or if it realy run ! Take a look to voip-info.org about X100P and X101P, you will learn more about the chipsets, which is only the available information. Use this kind of cards (WinModem) for tests or curses only, no production. Good Luck. So I took a chance with an X100P knock-off on eBay. I'm running Asterisk + FreePBX on a PowerMac G3 (beige desktop) using Slackintosh 10.2 and kernel 2.6.16.16. Everything has been fine up until now. I compile the 1.2.5 Zaptel drivers without a problem, get the udev configuration in, modprobe zaptel, and finally modprobe wcfxo. Re: [Asterisk-Users] X100P fails to initialize
Thanks to everyone for their tips and suggestions. I finally got the card working by using the YellowDog Linux kernel from ppckernel.org. There must have been some setting in the kernel config that made a difference because the card suddenly started working after that, even after a kernel recompile of 2.6.16.18 using the same config.
