Sounds like your card is not detecting the busy tone, try adding the
following line at your zapata.conf file:

busydetect=yes
busycount=6

It would be clearer if it said Hookstate (FXS ports only): Offhook

i.e. the state information is not valid for FXO ports.

Hello All,
Anyone purchased a asterisk card, x100p or similar in India, if yes from
where and what model ? I am interested in setting up a Asterisk Server at
home, for single line at the moment and if things work out great, I would
like to migrate that to my business and replace the aging pbx solution.

Thankx,

I considered doing just that, but since I didn't have my scope with me

unless the cable is in the same spot (relative to coil, ground, other
metal), loaded with the same impedance characteristics as an x100p,
etc etc you might not measure anything meaningful anyway. you'd have
to wire the scope across it somehow in place without destroying the
experiment with the scope leads themselves adding another end of line
leg that is not the x100p.

I would say you are probably correct in the assumption, and everyone
should just bear this sort of thing in mind. if in doubt its easy to
plug in through a power bar with phone surge supressor close to the
end of the run, or one of the many other devices that do the same thing.

these setting worked fine with zaptel 1.2 but not with the newest zaptel

busydetect could be further tuned. KNowing where you're from can help.

Re: [asterisk-users] x100p wcfxo hangup on outgoing calss

2008-01-09 Thread Jonathan GF
Hi Miguel,

i'm in Spain like you. For a normal operational system inmediate should be
set to no. Busycount and Busydetect can be improved performance with
busypattern.
The pattern should be shown in the CLI, just take a look.

In Spain we use Kewlstart. If you card allows it try use Julian J. Menendez
patch for AnswerOnPolarity... If your provider allows it also, you won't
haver further issues, just tune the echo with fxotune.

Disable echotraining. Not needed. Disable fax detection. Will work, let's
see ;)

Regards,

Jonathan GF

Generally speaking, X100/101P cards are a waste of time. If you don't

makes nice clones of Digium for less money. I bough the

 Hi,

Im getting mad with this error, I have a x100p installed with wcfxo

When I place a call for outgoing, i heard the ringing, my cell or

If you want to ask Asterisk to tell you why it chose to hangup, enable
debug loggin (e.g: unrem the line 'full' in logger.conf sample), and
then run:

  asterisk -rx 'logger reload'
asterisk -rx 'core set debug 10'

Now see what messages you get in the relevant log file (e.g:
/var/log/asterisk/full ) when there's a hangup.

And the other one, that I think its related, is that when I place a call
for me cell, and I discard (I think its call like that) the call,
 asterisk doesnt understand it.

I am comparing this to what I have seen with IAX channels. When using

Testing should be easy: stop asterisk. remove all relevant modules
('/etc/init.d/zaptel stop' in recent versions is effective). And then
from the build directory:

  insmod ./zaptel.ko
  insmod ./wcfxo.ko
  cat /proc/zaptel/1

If it passes, that version is clearly good and maybe something is
strange with the setup.

If the problem is indeed not related to anything else, I'd interested to
get from you the exact revision where this has stopped working.

Method:

Initial setup:

  svn co http://svn.digium.com/svn/zaptel/branches/1.4 zaptel-svn
  cd zaptel-svn
  ./configure
  # optionally: 'make menuconfig' and disable all modules except zaptel
  # and wcfxo

To check out specific revision :

  svn update -r

Test for each version:

  make modules
  rmmod wcfxo zaptel
insmod ./zaptel.ko insmod ./wcfxo.ko cat /proc/zaptel/1 echo OK

I simply cannot get the X100P card to be recognized. I have tried bios
setting of PnPOS no and PnPOS yes, tried the card in different slots,
disabled all the unused motherboard devices to free up interrupts, etc.

The card works flawlessly in a CentOS 4.4 install on an old K6-2
 motherboard.

If I put an ethernet card in a PCI slot (in addition to the one on the
motherboard), it is recognized and configured during boot so I assume
the interrupt hardware is working on the mother board.

I would really appreciate any suggestions of what I could try here.

 Thanks!

No - With PnPOS = yes, card in first PCI slot - lspci -v does not show
the card. There are several unused interrupts.

I should have included earlier:

  Zaptel 1.4.7.1

So until you see it there, no point in wasting your time on drivers.
Can you boot from a different kernel and check if you see the card?
Try various kernel / BIOS options?

You don't show how your zapata.conf is set up and whether you have the
context and channel defined correctly. (Note quite a lot of the options
in mine are commented out - still playing around to see what things do)

In my extension.conf I have a context called main_menu that presents a
fairly simple Automated Attendant system.

Can you make outgoing calls? What happens if you set debugging to a
reasonably high number and you try to ring in? You should at least see
ringing detection etc...

In the asterisk console you should have something like this.:

vimes*CLI zap show channels
Chan Extension Context Language MOH Interpret
  pseudomain_menu en default
   1main_menu en default

If/when you do get the card working, I'd recommend you change your echo
canceller to OSLEC. It works a treat! I have written a few articles
about setting it up on my blog: as below.

OpenVox makes OK clones of Digium. You can get a one-FXO port model

You should post your zapata.conf as well, just in case. And post your

The X100P has not been made for years.

No, what you are experiencing is not normal. The two ports on the card
are electrically wired togather, much like a standard phone splitter you
would buy at a store.

The only cause I can think of for what is happening is either a bad
X100P, a card that claims to be an X100P, but is not, or (maybe) your
red/green are swapped.

Most modern phones have built in polarity guard, but older POTS sets did
not.

The dial pad normally mutes audio to the ear so the necessary loud DTMF

Buy yourself a Sangoma A200 card, save your configuration files, install

If you have a new 3.3v only motherboard then make very sure that the
brand that you buy supports this or your system will refuse to boot

A lot of X100P clone cards have the 3.3v notch in their PCI interface,

Asrock motherboard, model 775Dual880-Pro, with a Celeron D running at
2.8GHz, 1GB memory, standard Nvidia GF4MX videocard, and one X100P clone
 card.

Running the AsteriskNow, everything worked fine, except for incoming
calls, not being routed right, but they entered the system, and mostly
they ended up into the voicemail.

To change that behaviour and to have more control of what I'm doing, I
reinstalled the same machine with Debian Etch, the 64bit version, as the
CPU (and the replacing one in a few weeks) runs EM64T nicely...
The setup ran OK, compilation etc too, except for zttool which I still
 cannot compile.

  apt-get build-dep zaptel

Or specifically:

  apt-get install libncurses-dev

(or something similar)

When configging the server, I used several HowTo's and guides, but no
 solution:

hereby the config parts that I did/changed:

 /etc/zaptel.conf:

 # Autogenerated by /usr/sbin/genzaptelconf -- do not hand edit
 # Zaptel Configuration File
 # This file is parsed by the Zaptel Configurator, ztcfg
 # It must be in the module loading order
 # Span 1: WCFXO/0 Generic Clone Board 1
 fxsks=1
 # Global data
 loadzone= be
 defaultzone = be

 /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf:

 /etc/asterisk/extensions.conf:
 [incoming]
exten = s,1,Echo ;for testing the connection
 ;exten = s,1,Playback,demo-thanks ;for playing a file

 Nothing happens when dialing in.

 BUT:
ztmonitor 01 -vv gives levels, and when dialing in, the levels change
according to dialtone in my phone I use for calling the server.

 AND:
core show channels gives me this:

 asterisk*CLI core show channels verbose
 Channel Context ExtensionPrio State
 Application Data CallerIDDuration
 Accountcode BridgedTo
 0 active channels
 0 active calls

 What am I doing wrong???
Anyone that can give a hand?

What is the output of:

  zap show channels

NOPE There really is only one port. two modular jacks, one marked line,
which should go to the PSTN or FXS device, one with battery on it.
The second, upper? port is simply in parallel, and in some modems (
can't say for sure on the X100 ) is opened when the modem goes off hook.
If you have a card with only ONE modular jack, then perhaps you don't
really have an X100??

Remember the X100 is really a simple WinModem that has a specific
chipset that the Zaptel driver was written for,
If you were to remove it and place it in a Windows machine with the
proper drivers, you would have a run of the mill 56K dial up modem

Red alarm in the X100 means it doesn't see battery from the PSTN

When I run zttool it says that alarms: red. The card is connected to the

You want todefine a contextto use withthis channel, match the signaling with your channel driver (see examples in zapata.conf); if you create a new context, you'll need to also create a dial plan for it.

Re: [asterisk-users] X100P rings randomly when phone line makes call

2007-01-01 Thread Zoilo Gomez

Yuan LIU wrote:

Not sure if anyone experienced the same - or if anyone ever connected
a POTS phone to the Phone jack on an X100P card.

The POTS phone rings normally when the FXO receives a call. The POTS
phone can also make outgoing calls when FXO is not holding the line.
This is desired. But if a call connected to the POTS phone lasts
longer than a couple of minutes, Asterisk would receive ring
conditions from X100P at seemingly random intervals, and kick off
incoming dialplan associated with the Zap channel.

I experienced a similar problem, when my FXO was not the only port
terminating the PSTN-interface, but I had a normal phone set connected
in parallel as well.

I turned verbose to 6 and debug to 6, but all I could see was:
-- Starting simple switch on 'Zap/1-1'

Any idea how I can find the cause? Thank you.

System is Asterisk 1.2.13 on Ubuntu 6.

Right. reload of chan_zap will only change settings of channels, but not
add new channels or change their signalling type.

You need to restart asterisk for that, sadly.

  asterisk -rx 'restart now'

(BTW: I'm not saying that Howard's example is not good. I'm trying to
give you a direct answer to your question with minimal voodoo values).

No. It looks for zaptel.conf in /etc/zaptel.conf . This is what the man
page reads. This is what strace will tell you. This is even documented
in voip-info.org. Zaptel is not part of Asterisk. It's a kernel module.
Asterisk's zaptel channel configuration is /etc/asterisk/zapata.conf and
has a totally different syntax (e.g: ; for comments).

 configs look fine to me
it has to be a module problem im guessing

may be, but I dont know whats wrong

Zaptel (1.2.6.) installation was without errors and I did not get an error

try rmmod for zaptel and wctfxo or w/e then modprobing again(must be root)

if that does not work(which is does on my system, so i added it into a
 startup conf)

are you sure that wcfxo is the correct module for that device??

OK, I have now an output.

For some reason ztcfg was not looking in /etc/asterisk for the zaptel.conf.
After using the option -c /etc/asterisk/zaptel.conf everythink was fine.

One last thing:

Playback sounds now like MickeyMouse, much to slow

also Calls SIP to SIP are not any more possible

any ideas?

Hi Franck,

NOACPI and the sound must be more clear.
And, of course, have you tell to /usr/src/zaptel/zconfig.h and
/usr/src/asterisk/Makefil what kind of processor you have and enabled MMX if
possible before to compile ?

Good Luck !
Francois BERGERET,
France.

Hi,

I have problem to set up an X100P clone card.
Installation of zaptel was successful.
Also modprobe of zaptel, ztdummy and wcfxo without problems.

kernel: wcfxo: module not supported by Novell, setting U taint flag.
kernel: ACPI: PCI Interrupt :05:04.0[A] - GSI 16 (level, low) - IRQ

kernel: wcfxo: DAA mode is 'FCC'
kernel: Found a Wildcard FXO: Generic Clone
kernel: Registered tone zone 0 (United States / North America)

But if I do #ztcfg -vvv no channels will be found.

the log file reports me: kernel: Registered tone zone 0 (United States /

America)

Iam quite sure that zaptel.conf is correct.
fxsks=1

So Iam not sure what happened here, I have found that this clone as used by
many others, so it should work.

thanks

Re: [asterisk-users] X100P clone not working

2006-07-22 Thread brandon kruz

configs look fine to me
it has to be a module problem im guessing

try rmmod for zaptel and wctfxo or w/e then modprobing again(must be root)

if that does not work(which is does on my system, so i added it into a
startup conf)

kernel: wcfxo: module not supported by Novell

are you sure that wcfxo is the correct module for that device??

hoping to help

I would guess the card is actually a http://www.x100p.com/products_1.htm
and may be x100p selling it on ebay themselves.

I have one of these cards itself and it works fine. There is a bit of
echo initially but it gets cancelled our fairly quickly. Apart from
turning on echo cancellation I have not adjusted any other settings.

Hello,

Ridiculous business argumentation...
By changing 2 resistors maping on the same card you can say to system that
is any response as X100P, X101P, or Clone.
No proof to good quality or if it realy run !
Take a look to voip-info.org about X100P and X101P, you will learn more
about the chipsets, which is only the available information.

Use this kind of cards (WinModem) for tests or curses only, no production.

Good Luck.

France.

Re: [Asterisk-Users] X100P fails to initialize

2006-06-03 Thread Woodoo People .pGa!
So I took a chance with an X100P knock-off on eBay. I'm running Asterisk +
FreePBX on a PowerMac G3 (beige desktop) using Slackintosh 10.2 and kernel
2.6.16.16. Everything has been fine up until now.
I compile the 1.2.5 Zaptel drivers without a problem, get the udev
configuration in, modprobe zaptel, and finally modprobe wcfxo. At this
 point, I get the message:

ZT_CHANCONFIG failed on channel 1: No such device or address (6)
FATAL: Error running install command for wcfxo

 dmesg gives me:

Zapata Telephony Interface Registered on major 196
Zaptel Version: 1.2.5 Echo Canceller: MG2
Failed to initailize DAA, giving up...
wcfxo: probe of :00:0e.0 failed with error -5

this is a problem if the card shares interrupt with something on MOtherBOard.
configure the slot to other irq, or move the card to other irq.
lspci -v will be your friend. Check if someone uses same IRQ as motorola card.

Thanks to everyone for their tips and suggestions. I finally got the
card working by using the YellowDog Linux kernel from ppckernel.org.
There must have been some setting in the kernel config that made a
difference because the card suddenly started working after that, even
after a kernel recompile of 2.6.16.18 using the same config.
