Re: Making Music with MIDI

What I do:- I use NoteWorthy Composer to compose my music (QWS seems to be more popular; it's probably much more intuitively accessible than NWC, since Jaws and NVDA both respond to it differently and both come with a learning curve). I haven't used NWC's midi recording feature (I have a midi keyboard, but no cable for it), so I can't speak for the fidelity of how it transcribes midi input to the score.- You can set the midi driver NWC uses; I use bassmidi with the SGM soundfont (the site where I downloaded Bassmidi conveniently had an explanation for how to set the drivers in NWC).- I record with Sound Tap.Alternatively, there's Timidity, but I haven't tried investigating it for export to wav/mp3 functionality, since it's more convenient to just use NWC for everything, including playback.Bassmidi's current incarnation seems to have an issue where it lags for a tiny fraction of a second the first time it plays
notes. So I have to play most songs once before recording to avoid any clipping in the .wav file. I also made an nwc file that just plays most of the notes in a few channels to try and preload most of what a given song will need, but I've wound up using it less than I thought I would.Timidity also won't play with more than one drum set, while most soundfonts have several (the default with windows since ME has included at least three, sometimes four; different soundfonts may have more or less or the same or whatever, but Timidity only plays the default). I still use it if I want to use a soundfont other than SGM (it's easier to play a midi in timidity to change the bassmidi drivers a couple times for mostly a testplay). But pretty sure this isn't the typical strategy.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147274#p147274

[Audiogames-reflector] Questions about learning Nemeth.

2013-09-05 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — Off-topic room: ianr

Questions about learning Nemeth.

Hi, I'm interested in learning Nemeth.I currently read U.S. English braille grade 2 and U.S. 8 dot computer braille.I have taken math courses up through college algebra / pre-calculus and Trigonometry when I could still read with my eyes.My math is a bit rusty though, hence the reason for learning Nemeth.I have a refreshable braille display attached to my Windows 7 computer.  It does not have a braille keyboard.I use the NVDA screen reader.I do not own a brailler and have never used one.So I'd like to know my options for learning Nemeth.I've had no experience with Nemeth so don't know if I can learn it without a brailler, but my hope is to learn it on my computer using my refreshable braille display. If there is a good way to do this it will also serve me well for writing out long hand math problems on my computer.I'd also prefer to learn free or low cost and am not afraid of self study.
I know Hadley provides a course for free called "The Essentials of the Nemeth Code" but I expect it requires a brailler.Anyway, just wanted to check with others first to see if there is a good way to learn and use Nemeth on my computer. Also interested to hear any other information you'd like to share about Nemeth or your experience learning it.Thanks much!Ian ReedURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147277#p147277

Why is jaws 13.0 a piece of shit?

Hi there.Just so you know, I do not appreciate when developers smoke tunns of weed, and then post the result, called Jaws 13.0, and claim Money for it.I don't know the English language well enough to outline the insane amount of bugs and inconveniances I've found while using Jaws 13.0, on my I5 processor, 8 gb ram machine, running Windows 7, along with Infovox 4.0.First of all, I would have thought that a computer with the specs as good as mine would have good performence. But no. It's sluggish. It's actually working slower than my two year old iMac, which only has 4 gb ram and an I3 processor. And they want me to work with this insane amount of crap in school? If I see you blowing a big cigarr, while programming a program which I'm reliably supposed to work with, and sell it for thousand of dollars.Just ... bleh!!!This is one of the few moments where I'd love to resort to gun violence.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147278#p147278

Re: What are differences between devices that are wireless or bluetooth?

I don't know on the headphones thing. The reason I made the comment is there are already makes of headphones that only! run on iphones, since at the moment you can have a diffferent set of bands, though thankfully they're still compatible with normal 3.5 jacks as well as their own proprietary ones (though no, I won't buy a pare of headphones just! for an iphone). My brother was quite irritated at the change from usb to lightning connectors between iphone 4 and 5, sinse he had a usb capable hifi that would interact with the iphone 4 but not 5, apparently it's not actually a usb jack, but a usb insert. Regarding bluetooth and wireless networking your likely right, it is becoming quite a common thing, especially now that people tend to cary arround smart phones, tablets etc by default.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147279#p147279

Dam, I probably missed that. after a few episodes I started skipping the credits and sponsorship thing, because it was a little silly. How often do they do that? I'm now on chapter 33. I've enjoyed season 3 since they do seem to have the balance right in terms of action etc. my only irritation was the complete change from chapter 32 to 33, so that things at the colony were just left hanging after saul spoke to lizy on the radio, though I suppose we will get back to that later.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147281#p147281

Re: Questions about learning Nemeth.

Phew, where do I begin!?I learned the entire braille system by the time I was 7-8, so it's hard for me to reach back in the vault and pull that information out. But from experience, I will tell you that nemeth isn't too much of a difficult code to learn if you have the understanding ofregular lettered braille.  It just takes practice (like anything), and more of the time will you use a brailler than a display or anything computerized for dealing with numerical values or mathematical-related questions. For one thing, it's easier to see your work.  When you can see a general view of your math work, it's easier to deal with.  Also, you may have noticed in your courses that when showing your work, taking Algebra for example, when you balance an equation, you use the inverse opperation to rid one side of the equation of a constant or variable, and you typically line up the inverse opperation right below the whatever it is your working wit
h the prior line of the equation. This is a very confusing way of explaining my point, so I'll clarify if you need me to.  But bottom line is, using the brailler is your best bet.  With finding resources, well, I can't really help you there.Best Regards,LukeURL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147284#p147284

Assaultfreak, if you played muramasa I have news for you. One and most important, There aren't any helpfull options in the game. AFter starting the game you are choosng the difficulty. There are two, first one is easiest and second one hard. After tha two characters to choose. You can't control the audio, what you can is enabling voicess on and of, thats it sadly. So, be ready to be  pissed off when music will be too loud to hear the sounds of enemies / bosses. Gamefaqs has the FAQQs for the game so get it and read. Try running directly from the command line. Try this.1. Start, run. Type command and press enter. By command, I mean the literal word "command," not some command you'd type to run the emulator.2. At the command prompt, type cd, a space, then the path to your Apple emulator dorectory. So if it was in c:\stuff\messapple you'd typecd c:\stuff\messapple3. Type the example command line. This ismess apple2ee -flop1 disks\egames.dsk4. You won't be able to copy the error to the clipboard, you'll just have to write it down.5. To exit the command line, type exit and press enter.Hope that helps.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147294#p147294

The ones I have fixt are the death bug, and its now possible to check both your health and ammo with h and a respectivly. Also, yes, mission 2 is getting very neer the end. We are not quite at the cannon shooting yet but... wait, you will need to wait till I release the new patch to find out what your gonna need to get through after that cannon tube. Also, the tractor beam system is implemented so its now possible for you to move objects around. I'm not including the mentioned lobby redesign in this new version since i'm still planning out its design. I'm very close to releasing this new version, just trying to fix afew more nasty bugs that crept up when developing the newer stuff. Re: Why is jaws 13.0 a piece of shit?

i have always found that jaws is a resource hog.  not only that, but it would pop up with an error if i stayed in explorer for more than 5 seconds.  so i couldn't go to downloads, computer, or documents with out jaws throwing that error.  i then was not able to access anything with explorer and  i had to restart. then the problem would start all over again.NVDA fixed this when i switched, and i will never go back to jaws.  needless to say i like it better and i think it has some deffenatt advantages in several ways over jaws.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147307#p147307

Well in a game like pokemon since the overworld map is really a layer for encounters, there's not a need for real time movement, though there are fairly good indicators on how to do this in audio anyway, eg, swamp etc. Simply being tile based with some review keys and coordinates would do well enough.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147316#p147316

Re: Just started on we're alive

Beware! here be spoilers!Well I've now finished the thing completely and will be waiting for next monday for part 37-3. I do like the series and I'd agree season 3 is an improvement, it lost the action focus which took over season 2 and also progressed the plot rather nicely. I was also a little worried we'd get yet another siege of the base as the finale, but obviously they changed minds about that and what was done made more sense, albeit it did smack a little too much of "main characters get to live" Michael initially talked about "saving people" then ran around finding his friends, however didn't make an effort to convince anyone else to come with him. This seemed a little bit too convenient, like the way the kids riley rescued instantly found their mother and ran off so that the principle cast didn't have to inconveniently take them along. I do like the upping of zombi threat levels and the fact that we&
#039;re now focused far more on the zombies, albeit scratch is obviously coming back to be unpleasant another day, :d. My only worry with the series is whether it will actually have a definite conclusion or not. one of my issues with various  series, on tv and podcast is that often they begin a plot, but never actually finish, just sort of spiral on and on, often with a decline in quality. This certainly happens with book and film series, and I've known it happen with podcasts as well, secret world chronicles has had the same issue, and we're now going into book 6 with no end in sight. I'm hoping however that the revelations about the zombies, michael's plans to take the fight to them, and Tanya's experiments will actually spell an end to the series at some point in the future, indeed I was quite impressed when michael stated quite correctly that they couldn't just go on establishing more basis and surviving. Ag
ain, this is a problem with the hole zombocalypse fiction generally, it's pretty hard to conclude.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147314#p147314

well I was going to make a new topic out of this but seeing as we're on the subject...i'm now at the point where i'm serioiusly considering switching perminantly from Jaws to NVDAThis is mainly due to the amount of times its features do not do what they are supposed to or are advertised to do, coupled with the fact that whenever internet explorer crashes, jaws crashes and thus you have to do a whole restart usually to get your computer working again. I don't want a jaws vs nvda type topic, instead, I'd like to know the advantages people have found when switching from jaws to nvda.one slight issue is that whenever I browse the net with the latter, its no where near as responsive when reading pages.  this might be able to be fixed though, I don't knowthanks in advanced guys.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147322#p147322

Oh right ...if my computer got slowed down and bugged out with Jaws 13.0 earlier, guess what happened when I got Infovox 4.0? I have never ever seen a program with so many flaws in my entire life. Not even in MOTA I swear.Jaws benefits: makes your wallet lighter, slows your computer so you have time to stop and think, crashes at random so you have to train your brain to solve the problem. And lastly, it improves someone's post count on a certain forum while complaining over how much of a piece of incredible crap it is.NVDA benefits: fast, free, bug-free.I'm not sure if NVDA is compatible with my Handytech Braille, or if it supports the Infovox voices. I'm sure it supports Infovox ...I will actually ask to switch to NVDA.FOr some reason NVDA was shipped with the latest Infovox package which is just ... weird.URL:

its not the randomisation thats the problem, its the actual inability to use multiple keys without writing each one like follows:audio.init()sr.init()key.init()ui.showwindow(sound player)--what i'd like to do is something like if key.released(key.letters) thenaudio.play(letter(math.random[1,20)])end--but i'd have to do the following instead currently.  i won't do the entire command but hopefully you'll get the ideaif key.released(key.a) or key.released(key.b) or key.released(key.c) thenaudio.play(letter[math.random(1,20)])endi mean I could do the second but it would be good to have larger includes for all the letters, all numbers etc individually. Thanks for motivating me to write this out though, forgot to really show what i was trying to do.The Doctor.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/vi

Re: [Audiogames-reflector] The Future of the Evolution Engine

2013-09-05 Thread AudioGames.net Forum — General Game Discussion: tward

Re: The Future of the Evolution Engine

#KeyIsFull, no, it wouldn't necessarily be that big a deal to create a launcher that makes it easy to click on it and start the game written in .NET. I could write a simple one in C++ or create a launch script to do it so that in of itself isn't a serious issue.I would think that installing all the dependencies such as Mono, SDL .NET, OpenAL .NET, whatever would be a bigger issue for the end user and the developer since none of those things come with Mac natively. Its more tedious than really a serious con per say.As far as security goes buying good security is really just part of the territory as far as I am concerned. In fact, all interpreted languages, not just .NET, have really weak security and it is a piece of cake to disassemble them and crack them without some sort of obfuscation or encryption tool involved to prevent the cracker gaining access to your source.  A cracker can do it to native C++ apps too, but only to the point of disassembling t
hem into assembly code which is harder to work with. There are, however, encryption tools that will encrypt binaries so that they can't be reverse engineered and turned back into assembly code so the security is generally stronger on C and C++ binaries.#Dhruv, yes, ease of use and ease of language is precisely why we are having this discussion. The current version of the engine is written in straight C++ and is compiled as a standard C++ library. For that reason it is decent for my own needs, but isn't exactly newbie friendly or necessarily the easiest option for a new programmer such as yourself since it requires the developer knows C++ to use it.@SLJ, its a totally different approach from BGT. BGT is wrapped using a scripting language called Angelscript that obfuscates all the low-level C++ code and libraries beneath it. My engine is merely just a C++ library, has no scripting at all, and therefore requires that you attach it to a C++ project and link it in
with your game during compile time. Therefore you have to know C++ to use it. Otherwise it isn't going to be of use to a prospective developer. That's why I was looking into ways of simplifying the development process for newbies.Python is obviously easy to learn and use. One idea being tossed around on the game developers list is that I create a Python wrapper for the library which would make it easy to use while still being able to be used by C++ developers too. I haven't decided what to do just yet, but that strikes me as one likely possibility.@Sebby, I'm not really keen on using a COM or CORBA  based interface for my library for the obvious reason it is not in any way, shape, or form cross-platform. I'd basically be busting my butt to create this cool COM interface that would work with C++, Java, Python, .NET, whatever, but still would only be for Windows. I really hate putting that much work into an interface that would only serve o
ne platform which is why I was looking at other options. As far as .NET goes you are right. Windows is really the best fit for those languages and tools, and was never truly designed to go to Mac or Linux. Although Mono is a great technology it really hasn't seen much acceptance on Linux because it violates certain aspects of the free software initiative and is prone to patent issues. I suspect .NET isn't that popular on Mac either even though Mono is just as useful there as it is on Linux. So when it comes to .NET while there are other runtimes, tools, etc it is still by and large a Windows technology. So it may not be a good fit for what I want to do long term. The other issue you didn't mention is that .NET requires a lot of extra middleware to be installed in order to run that game or application using the .NET runtime. packages which really takes up drive space unnecessarily. On Mac, for example, someone would have to install the Mono Runtime, SDL .NET
, OpenAL .NET, etc just to run the game on Mac when a program written in C++ would not need all that extra middleware. Same goes for Windows and Linux as well. The .NET technology is nice, but very very bloated.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147335#p147335

Re: The Future of the Evolution Engine

Hi Tom,Being an end user and beginning program (admittedly using Dragonflame, and having a lot of trouble getting my head round bgt's complicated syntax in comparison), I have a rather interesting point of view on this matter, in my opinion.  I would personally say after looking over a lot of Python tutorials  on the internet, including the official documentation, I will personally say that (for me at least) Python, in comparison to Lua, on which DFE is based, is nowhere near as easy to pick up and learn as everyone seems to make out.  If you can, however, prove me wrong with scripts that are simple to understand and learn, then I would be very willing to change my point of view. What I'm trying to say is that it would be good to have an easy syntax similar to that of DFE, simply because its the most simple but powerful interface i have yet to come across in delving into programming.  For example of justification.  I had to copy and p
aste philip's own example code simply to construct memory train in bgt, whereas i have managed, on my own, to begin creating 2d/2.5d engines with a lot of help to get me started using the main concepts, but creating them on my own without using any arrays at all after only starting near the end of last year.  And to put a rough time around the bgt code, I probably started looking when the betas first came out, and still didn't get it when the full tutorial was released with code and all.  Which i'd guess is about 2 or 3 years.I hope this opinion comes across as I intend it, as a demonstration of a personal perspective.  However, if you require further explanation, then I will endeavour to provide it.The Doctor.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147337#p147337

Re: Why is jaws 13.0 a piece of shit?

Hi,NVDA does work wit Infovox. In fact, it works better with it than jaws, because Acapela had developped a direct Infovox driver for it so you can access it like a separate synth, not as a sapi voice.I'd say that most of your lag issues are caused by the fact that jaws's sapi driver is just there but doesn't work very well. Interestingly enough, it used to work quite well with jaws 6 and 7, but with every new release it got less stable. You can get slightly better results with Eloquence and Vocalizer. But it still doesn't solve the tons of other bugs and instabilities. So yeah, NVDA for the win.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147341#p147341

You could possibly use pairs to itterate through the keys, then assign entries in a table to the key values. You'd have them interspersed with functions though.Pairs doesn't return the values in order either so you'd have to do some kind of sort if you wanted an ordered system. Re: Just started on we're alive

@kile, that is somewhat ironic, since I was the other way around. I was far more interested in saul, victor and Cj's escapades in the colony than in what was going on in fort urwen, indeed I sort of felt the fort urwin plot was a little too distrcting at first. I would've liked to see a bit more of boulder, and of fort urwin, but I suppose at that point since they were racing to the end of the series they had to compress a little, and we might always get more information later. @Truegamer, regarding who is going to die, this is why I like character deaths in series, since it means whenever the zombies attack you will be worried to see who gets it. I was in one sense a little disappointed with the business with angel, since I'd rather have just had him did and the hole killing thing seemed a bit much, since after all we thought he was dead anyway so why kill him again? it just didn't have the impact. When he first appeared in season 3 I did think h
e'd be around for at least a little more. I actually suspected what victor would do with the needle, it sort of makes sense, though in fairness there was a rather similar and quite amusing scene in kickass 2. For future deaths, well I suspect bert will end up having to give his life in some massive explosive last stand, and I wouldn't be surprised if michael died (after all, just because the account is supposedly made from michael's diary doesn't say he is still around). For other characters I don't know. I don't think Lizy is likely, there has been too much plot, but I do suspect her baby might end up dying later. Pegs I don't see as a possibility, since the michael pegs thing really should go somewhere, then again I don't particularly like pegs much as a character so I wouldn't be exactly sorry. Riley might be a possibility, but I doubt that is too likely until she has some more plot, though I'd be s
orry as I rather like riley, she reminds me of several friends of mine. in general the only character I tend to believe is pretty safe is saul, since with angel out, there has to be someone else from the beginning, especially if it does end with michael heroically dying, indeed I do sometimes wonder if the epilogue will be Saul's son (assuming he actually is! saull's son), along with maybe michael and pegs' child sitting and reading the diaries of the survivers in a zombi free world. While we're on the subject of characters, I was a little sorry at scratch going all goo goo over lizzy having a baby and revealing her tragic past, --- why the heck do all! villains have to have a tragic past? I preferd it when she was just a sadistic maffia inforcer.I also was a little surprised cj lost the fight with Scratch so badly. While I didn't think she'd be written out of the series at that point, I had thought in terms of combat Cj would be a goo
d match, indeed I expected one of those situations where cj failed with a gun but was successful enough with a knife to make scratch back off..I also really like the fact that it does! have a definate ending, that will make the story progress much better.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147352#p147352

Re: Announcing Codename Cygnus - an Interactive Radio Drama for iOS!

Hi folks, I'm the creator of Codename Cygnus, Jonathon Myers. The fans have spoken and we have listened! In the very next update we are removing the Facebook login requirement so that you can purchase and play episodes without logging into any service. Here is the release: http://www.gamasutra.com/view/pressrele … cation.phpHowever, your save game will only be saved locally if you do not connect with a service. Therefore, we can't guarantee that your game progress will be safe or that we will be able to support and diagnose local issues as easily. There shouldn't be any unique issues, but please note that we'll have a more difficult time supporting local-only saves. We are working hard to implement Twitter as an authorization service to access your online profile for automatic saving. We unfortunately will not be able to add that in this update, but we'll get it out as soon as possible. It's kinda complicated to add a second authorization method to a single login location. We'll get it done, though! Please accept my personal apology for making it difficult on those of you who do not have or want a Facebook account. I promise we'll do what we can to avoid that sort of a bad decision. I accept full responsibility for it.Finally, thanks for all the positive words above, folks. We're excited that people are playing and enjoying the game. We'll continue to make more episodes and in fact #4 & #5 are coming soon!URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147333#p147333

Well thanks for that hint Slj, I wasn't sure what that thing was when I pushed it into the item I needed.      I finally beat the game and decided to play again, and I had a sudden revealation about why the gun was so difficult  to use.  Re-reading it again states that your facing away from the zombie when you setup the gun.  Essentially when people attempt to center the zombie moans in the middle and realize the zombie flipped from the left to right, your just turning around towards the zombie.  To show, anyone having shooting issues move the vertical crosshairs to the ground and make a circle twice.  Sometimes you may hear the ringing noise, and other times you'll just see the zombie hop from one side to another.  Essentially, take the game's advice and face the zombie    Advice I comically ignored, a

The game is playable, as there's no platforming. But just like with Dragon's Crown there's a lot of items on the screen that can't be picked up unless you walk over them, which is difficult. And Dragon's Crown has chests that ave to be opened... which is also difficult, and takes away quite a bit since most of the equipment you can get from there is valuable, yet we have a hard time opening the chests. And you can get the ps3 formore than one game... lol. to find buttons, read names and click on them, which not only means you can turn vo off entirely and not have it chatter away through the game, but also that you can play through the game rather more quickly. Finding, listening to and clicking controls is one of the few issues with choice interfaces on ios, for example choosing battle orders in a game like King of dragon pass or heroes in solara, which would be faster with a keyboard, however the voice interaction means it is actually quicker,  which increases the  immertion factor. Re: Why is jaws 13.0 a piece of shit?

Hi.Yeah, I know. There are times I get so angry at all these companies that say they're trying to help the blind but end up forcing us to pay for something that really isn't worth the high price of $1200. THen to make matters worse all of this stuff for the blind seems to be majorly flawed.I have not used Jaws as much as window-eyes, but I have had issues with both so don't recommend them to anyone. Now I always say get a mac, you can get the cheapest mac laptop for less than a windows computer and jaws or window-eyes. Oh, and you only pay $20 or so for both screen reader and operating system updates, not $600 or what ever insane price Freedom Scientific and GW have set.Anyway I'm getting off-topic.Of course NVDA is good too but you have to install that just like jaws.I agree, government agencies should be informed of this other stuff like VoiceOver and NVDA. I don't think it would work though. Everyone seems to be stuck

thanks again, I haven't actually tried out the voice commands.@dark. maybe you should record your playthrough of the prologue in your bond voice? is it possible that you might release the theme/soundtrack on ITunes? just another marketing idea i've thought of.additionally, have you ever thought of porting it to PC/mac in the future? The Doctor.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147358#p147358

@harrylst: The sidequests went into production after the Kickstarter closed, and then we had tasks for launch and PAX, but we hope to get 4 out by mid-Sept and 5 by the end of Sept.@Dark: It's not updated yet, unfortunately. We're announcing now so people know. We're going through the typical update review process with Apple. You won't have to wait long. Re: [Audiogames-reflector] Questions about learning Nemeth.

Re: Questions about learning Nemeth.

Hi Ian. Nemeth is not hard to learn at all. If you know standard braille code nemeth won't be a problem. You should get a brailler because nemeth is easier to learn that way. You should be able to read nemeth on your braille display although I'm not sure how it comes up when you type it on a regular keyboard. I will write out nemeth numbers one through five and see if that helps you. 1 2345Put your braille display cursor directly on these numbers so that they will show up as nemeth code. Re: Questions about learning Nemeth.

I don't know if there are any Nemeth engines for braille displays out there; it's not something that I'd expect maps well to most formats screen readers support. Maybe there's a Nemeth interpreter for LeTX out there somewhere? I'm not familiar with LeTX (to the extent I'm not sure I spelled it right), but I get the impression it'd be th best fit for a digital system that could use Nemeth (most mathematical expressions are done with graphics that I can find online, which is annoying to no end). The other possibility is to come up with some clever script that interprets Nemeth out of computer braille, but I'm not sure how hard it would be to make something like this friendly for educational purposes. One of the main issues is that Nemeth is designed to handle visual formatting well, but NVDA and Jaws at least don't seem to handle the same sorts of formatting very well (vertically-aligned expressions, superscripts and subscripts, rad
icals, etc). Which means that trying to make, say, a Pontes Braille Typewriter language file for Nemeth probably wouldn't help much. Maybe for TI Interactive!, or some similar program.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147363#p147363

Re: The Future of the Evolution Engine

@Doctor, I do understand the point you were making, but Lua has never been my personal cup of tea. I never really liked the language that much which is why I didn't really throw that option out here. However, weather Python or Lua are easier to learn that's largely personal opinion, and there isn't necessarily a right or wrong answer to that one. All I can say is perhaps you simply didn't find a tutorial for Python that explains the language in simple down to earth language.@Stewie, interesting suggestion. Not sure where you get the idea that the .NET languages are dying a slow and painful death, but C++ is generally the standard by which all software, APIs, etc are judged. So for that reason alone a C++ library would be of use to someone somewhere where things like Python and .NET are used more by amateurs and people who don't really want to learn the complexity of C++ for professional grade development. There is, however, always the possibility of
creating a wrapper around theC++ library to make it usable by Python, .NET, Java, whatever.URL: http://forum.audiogames.net/viewtopic.php?pid=147362#p147362
