I currently have a lot of free time on my hands, though I cant promise that this trend will continue. My wife and kids are both in school, while Im just sitting around most days, which kind of sucks. Ive been doing sound design since I was ten, with a Commodore 64. Now of course, I use Goldwave and others. I can even put sounds in a 3d space if your audio engine doesnt support movement in 3d. check out www.ThePionEar.net/Cataclysm.mp3 and www.ThePionEar.net/Psyfy.mp3 for examples of my work. The music was done by my friend Rob, and I added the sound effects. What you might do is create a shared dropbox folder and use multiple designers. Thats how the big companies do it, except that they pay their people since they can afford to. Hi Ken,Your links are bringing up 404 errors. How do you put sounds in a 3d space? Im interested as I have been looking for ways to do that, just to add atmosphere to my sounds. Not so much for use in games, but for, say, offline rendering to an audio file. I know this is off topic buc a bit but audio games are severely lacking in 3d spacial sound, though they are getting there. Without a proper audio engine dedicated to 3d sound, I wouldnt be totally sure of how you would get around that, if youre just using audio files rendered in a 3d manner. If I remember right, it was around 300 MB. So not everything we ever wanted was in it, but some cool stuff there. Sadly, the issue isnt so much finding a host for it, its finding the thing in the first place. I dont have it anymore because I lost it in a system crash. Only a few people got it when it was available, and they havent spoken up. You are definitely right. Its much better to use a 3d engine, thats for sure. If you cant, theres a program called Diesel sound studio. Its meant to demo their engine, which can be used in programming language, but I dont even know what languages it supports of even how to contact them anymore. Make sure you have a compass. The map does not seem to be random, so you can take notes on where you are. Remember though that when you beat an area youll have to get back to the village to see if youve unlocked anything new, and this is what I was failing to do. Yeah, Im just about to reinstall my Debian VM, and it looks like Ill be doing it using textmode over a virtual serial line connected to a socket (information for setting this up in Fusion is here), because sound support is completely buggered, and my Apex virtual serial port requires device and vendor kernel parameters to even load up the ipaq module correctly. And maybe, just maybe, Im too lazy or pugnacious to want to spend my life buggering about with things more than I should have to, especially after being spoiled by OS X.The real reason to use Linux is essentially that one gets easy access to lots of useful software without the hassle of compiling it locally, and that BRLTTY provides kick-ass braille support that no other OS can match. I can also help. Im danny on their, the one with the ship called ice arctika. The game stops at the point after you go to the derelict and are told to report the attack. This game is not rp enforced at all. The missions arnt just menu and pick a ship missions like in miriani. You talk to npcs who assign you to your next point. And, their is no stranding or stunning of any kind. You can restore ship if it gets destroied. Hi. Lately, Skype has been giving me some very annoying problems. 1: For some od reason, every single one of my Skype contacts shows as offline when I know for a fact that theyre not. Just yesterday, someone was trying to call me but couldnt, because I appear offline to them when my Skype status is set to online. Secondly, Skype no longer signs me in automaticly, even though the checkbox is checked. Everytime I sta my computer without closing Skype first, it says we cant open Skype, you are already signed in on this computer. And lastly, Skype will not close with task manager. it whave tried reinstalling it, and that seems to fix the issues for a little while, but when ver I have to do a system restart, theyre back again. And to add to that, even if you turn PVP on, theres no real penalty for losing your ship. You simply go to a salvage terminal, type salvage ship name, and its returned to you, everything in tact, though you have to wait about 5 minutes before you can launch it again. So basically theres a very light death penalty, optional PVP, no roleplay and no way to get stranded away from any type of transport. Well, the diesel demo allows you to import a sond, then give it a path, and the paths can be as complex as you need them to be. For example, I have a car driving sound. I start it at x 1 y -20, then set point two at x 1 y 0. Then I go from y 0 to x 0, y 1 to x 1, and I have a car thats just turned. Then I make one final path from x 2 to x 20. I can also define circular paths, so i can have choppers flying overhead and the like. theres no way to save the actual work, but I can record my stereo mix and play it through the4 studio while recording in Goldwave, and its so clear I dont even have to use noise reduction. As far as straight-up accessible I just dont know. Im a techy, and one of the things I do is find ways to use inaccessible things either by scripting, labeling graphics, or both. I remember a program called Creative Rhythmania that was totally inaccessible, but through scripting I had no problems. Wish I could get hold of that one again

Your problem may not be with the Skype cliant, but with Skype and yoru account. If thats the case, switching to GW will make little difference.Did you try uninstalling Skype, and running disc cleaners, like C Cleaner? I went with the Apex, for sheer propriety. Never mind everything else--the Apex has the leftovers of a DOS-based text editor in it, and Duxbury for braille output. What more do you want? Yes, it plays z-code. Between that, the dictionary, the calculator, the simple media player and memo recorder, the clock, the stopwatch, the basic HTML viewer (hard to call it a browser, but it should keep you off Facebook) and of course the actual word processor function (which can be configured to switch braille and print modes, do back and forward translation, or operate in computer braille in your choice of code), this thing serves my needs as well as any Ghetto device can. And you can operate it standing up, with it strapped over an opposing shoulder, in a case. Very nice. File transfer is the only downfall; its ActiveSync, so bring SD cards. Windows CE, also, has an unfl
 attering tendency to make itself known from time to time by causing productivity to cease for 30 seconds while you rset. The game wont work with IE8 because it uses a bunch of fancy things IE8 doesnt support, like html5 and CSS3. The game runs fine under firefox or chrome, however. You also need to use NVDA, as jaws cant detect the add and subtract buttons for assigning villagers to other jobs for some reason.However, there is one completely inaccessible part. It seems you hit a dead stop once youve started out on the dusty path. In the browser version, theres absolutely no way to tell where youre going, and not really even a way to click on the various sections of the map either.
